It’s a very jungle like experience. The service was not bad, there’s a free shuttle service out to the beach near by with loads of food. All’s good, but our toilet was halfway in construction. But still useable.
Lovely jungle get away, quiet with two pools to choose from. Bathroom had a few creepy crawlys, and room was very standard, however nice for 2 nights. Restaurant didn't serve food for most hours of the day. Staff were pleasant. At 8.30am there was a loud continuous banging noise from a man fixing the walk way which was annoying. But overall nice stay
I got everything I expected from Sunda Resort. Plants, greenery, wooden floorings and a reasonably sized swimming pool. Complimentary breakfast was a treat to my tummy. Loved every bit of it. I had a terrible time trying to communicate with the staff as they didn't know English at all. Resort is somewhat badly in need of at least one person with fluency in English.
Run by Muslims, not friendly, mosque next door so call to prayer at 5 am quite loud. Far from town, need a tuk tuk there and back. Rooms are lovely at the pool side but canal side is more a murky muddy mosquito breeding ground. Food is pitiful, not edible and cold. No alcohol allowed.... see above! Most unfriendly crew ever encountered. Dont bother- liked nothing but the tropical grounds and gardens
Amazing location very close to everything but still far away enough from the noise so sleeping is no problem. Good wifi and air conditioning and the food was very good! The room was very spacious but the bathroom could use some updating just make sure you keep the bathroom door closed or lizards can get into your room. Two pools which usually are not to busy so privacy and tranquility are no problemOverall I really liked this resort an the Thai feeling it had. My experience here was good an I would come back if I found myself in Krabi again!
Environment nice, villa on stilt. Two small pools great for small groups. A wonderful dip after returning from the walking around the busy streets around Aonang. Breakfast is great and tasty. Location wise, a bit remote and needs 20-30 minutes walking from the busy streets. Use Google map or Waze to get there if first time. Rent a bike easy to get around the beach line.
The location was superb. Just 5-10 mins from the main town. They had a pick up and drop service free of charge. I wen there in February 2016. The resort had a lovely swimming pool with jacuzzi. This was a top notch place and complete value for money. The food at the restaurant was a tad overpriced and not so great to taste but it wasn't bad either. I would definitely recommend this place to families or bachelors.
The food taste is nice..they serve halal food and is the best around in this aonang area i ever had..hope will come back again if i plan come to krabi next time.enjoy with my jungle sorround.this is will be the place if anyone plan to experience peacefull vacation..
My partner and I stayed here in February 2015 and enjoyed our stay. We stayed here for two weeks this time and were looking forward to getting back to Sunda. First of all the positives. The resort is in a lovely setting amongst jungle foliage and is on the whole quiet. 99% of the staff are friendly and helpful. The place has two pools that although heavily chlorinated and in need of some refurbishment are nice and you can relax here feeling that you are really around nature. The free tuk tuk means that you can get to Ao nang and close areas for free and the tuk tuk is readily available. The resort offers treatments and laundry service etc.The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily with effective air con.The wifi had also improved considerably since our last stay The negatives for us were that our room needed some maintenance and redecoration. The bathroom had a pipe in it that had been taped up rather than replaced and leaked constantly onto the floor and down the side of the door. The bathroom door also locked itself several times while we're were there and despite asking we weren't ever given a key so we could open it if it locked which was a major inconvenience. There were lots of ants and flys that caused issues at breakfast and some foods and surfaces in the dining room were covered in ants. As mentioned the pool has some tiles that were broken and could could cause injury if swimmers aren't careful. The bathrooms themselves could do with more finishing, we found this novel last time we stayed but the open slats let in lots of mosquitoes and due to the door locking itself randomly we had to keep this ajar at night leading to an unimpeded route into the room for the mosquitoes As mentioned although most staff were very helpful a couple were quite rude. Also we saw some staff at night sleeping on benches outside rooms which didn't look great nor did areas of what appeared to be tarpaulin on some of the roofs around the complex. We paid around 33gbp a night for the room and breakfast for us both which is very reasonable. However we have been to other hotels in Thailand that although marginally more expensive offered a much better level of comfort, finish and service. As a result I would rather spend a little bit more money for a better hotel in the future. If Sunda spent a bit of money on refurbishing rooms and the pools and addressed its insect issues in the dining room it would be a brilliant resort to be honest we felt it looked at times a bit run down.
Staff cant speak english...the resort foods was really really bad..room was clean but toilet is not finish..on 2nd day we found a frog was having a good time in the toilet..a lot of mosquitos..only good thing about the resort is the van driver is only person can understand malay & english..
