Located on a peaceful island not far from Krabi (Koh Lanta) is a resort named Crown Lanta. The resort showcases stunning panoramic views of both the steep mountains and the sparkling ocean. Crown Lanta is far less populated with tourists than most islands and this creates the ultimate tropical getaway. We were welcomed to Crown Lanta with a chilled, traditional drink and cold towels before being escorted to our room. Modern, slick and spacious it consisted of all the essentials for a relaxing holiday: a comfortable bed, bathroom, couch, outdoor dining and outdoor lounges. Sliding glass doors opened up to reveal a huge shared lap pool which when followed lead you to a bar and lots of sunbeds. On our first night we relaxed at the resorts’ reggae bar where we sipped on cocktails and had a bite to eat. The reggae bar had a great vibe not to mention we were able to sit in cosy, cushioned rooms or tree houses overlooking the most stunning sunsets. Numerous facilities, free of charge equipment (bikes, kayaks and snorkelling gear) and a travel desk all contributed towards ensuring our days were jam-packed with lots of exciting activities. The facilities at Crown Lanta consisted of 2 restaurants, 1 cafe, the reggae bar, a gym, 2 swimming pools and the infinity spa. The Peak restaurant was where we ate our delicious breakfast buffets each morning whilst taking in the panoramic view of both the mountains and the ocean. On our final night at Crown Lanta we made a reservation at the cliff restaurant where we indulged in a seafood BBQ buffet. It was a beautifully arranged buffet with twinkling fairy lights scaling the trees and soft acoustic music blending into the background. There were tables and tables filled with freshly prepared meals and ingredients and whilst this buffet was labelled "seafood BBQ" it was not solely seafood. The foods ranged from Thai cuisine to Mexican and everything else in between. The resorts' chefs were all on show and using ingredients we selected they would whip up a delicious dish - so quick and fascinating to see. Our experience at Crown Lanta was filled with the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. We explored beaches, markets and tourist attractions as well as lounged around by the pool soaking up the sunshine, not to mention we ate some fantastic food!
This is our second visit to Crown Lanta and we hope to be back again next year. We are happy to ride a scooter, so find the location very convenient, just a short ride to Sala Dan and cafes along the beach strip. Also it means it is only a short drive from the car ferry, which is welcome after two flights and a drive to get here. The rooms are beautiful, our favourite is the pool access - a good balance of sun & shade and no walking anywhere, which sounds lazy but is a bonus in a resort built on a hill. This year the awesome manager upgraded us to an ocean view pool villa and that is as OMG as it sounds. It will make deciding which room to pick next year a lot harder.
We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and breakfast was amazing. The staff was very friendly especially Boy from the reception. Only fruit shakes were disappointing as they were just made out of Sirup.
We spent just one night in their private pool villa and we just loved it. Right from their welcome to the size of the villa and the view were just amazing. If you are staying here, you must visit the Sunset Reggae Bar which is tastefully built on stills on the beach. The restaurant where breakfast is served also has a very nice view and the food options are pretty good. The resort is built around and over a small steep hill but they have shuttles to drop you and pick u up from your room.
Hotel provided a paid pick up from Krabi Airport which made the transfer from airport (including ferry crossing) very easy. Staff provided welcome drink and cold towels upon arrival. Our son was enamored with the fish in the fish ponds behind reception - you are able to buy fish food from hotel. Hotel provides a shuttle service from reception to the Peak Restaurant, Reggae Bar, spa and pool. We chose a room on the lower part of the hotel with access to our own pool that linked to a L-shaped pool. This was fantastic for our son. The room we were in needed some work (damaged paint, old shower head) but this did not distract from our stay. The beach is a short walk away, and Saladan is a few minutes by car. The hotel offers a shuttle service at points throughout the day. Alternatively tuk tuk are available or you can hire a moped.
Just stayed for three nights in The Crown Lanta and I'm already missing it. I stayed in a pool villa that looked out at the sunset and it was stunning. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I'd seen, you could go really healthy or pig out if you wanted to! It really was the staff that pushes this place over the edge. Always so happy and helpful, especially Boy, who was so friendly and chatty, really made sure I had everything I needed.
Went there for a couple of days while in Krabi. While not as inexpensive as some of the other options available, every penny was worth it. It's super close to the ferry point. So you hardly spend any time reaching the resort after you dock at Koh Lanta. It's five mins from Saladan, a couple of roads with lots of restaurants to eat out if you don't want to eat at the resort. Else you can hire a bike from the resort and go exploring the rest of the island. We took a pool villa with an ocean view - and the room was fantastic. I would have happily spent all my time in the pool, looking out at the ocean, if I could. The service was great, the food pretty good. Some of the rooms are a steep climb but they have golf carts to ferry you around if you want so no sweat there. Their sunset reggae bar perched on some rocks was really quaint and cool. Lying there, watching the waves and sipping on cocktails was a great way to end my trip. Not crowded or touristy. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a relaxed vacation.
It was awesome staying at Crown Lanta. The staff were very accomadating, especially Nam who spoke very good English and made us feel at home. The grounds are truly stunning with a wonderful Reggae bar looking out on the ocean with cozy seats. It is a great location if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the other islands, but only a boat ride away from Phi Phi Islands. The manager, Nine was great and able to upgrade us to the best room for our honeymoon. We would highly recommend Crown Lanta and it has a superb buffet breakfast looking out on the ocean at the highest point of the resort.
A good property with good view from the room. The property is about 1 hr 45 mins from the airport and one can reach by road and a ferry ride combined. So, one should definitely get the to and fro transport arranged while booking! The Pool Villa where we stayed had a private pool with excellent view of the sea! The staff was very courteous! The food at the restaurant is also could but could definitely be better. Breakfast spread is quite standard, however room service food missed consistency of flavor... i.e. some meals were really tasty while some were average! The surrounding area is quite rocky; but the resort has a small private beach. Although small, it has a great view and most important clear water! Few things to be cautious of... as the whole area is full of greenery, you definitely expect some lizards and small reptiles moving around. The hotel staff was quite courteous to come over and shoo them off when requested even in odd hours! So thanks for the same! However, the resort should definitely look at ways to modify the doors so that flies, lizards or insects don't enter the room. The local market is quite near... so if you want to shop or try out some local cuisine, you should try out... especially loved the chicken sticks sold by local vendors on the wheels.... fresh and yummy! Also, loved one local restaurant ... Sala Lanta Thai Restaurant... just amazing food! The restaurant has a great traditional thai ambience and a good chef... and we were delighted to go back every time; so worth a mention! If you are in a mood to explore the island on your own, the best way to do so is to take a self driven car or bike which is readily available. A must watch place is the National Park with great view! To explore the surroundings like Phi Phi, Maya Bay etc. you may book your trip through either the hotel travel desk or through a local operator in the market! Overall a good experience and value for money!
We stayed at Crown Lanta Resort and Spa for 7 nights while traveling Thailand and can't say enough good things about our experience there. From the restaurant to the room to the pool everything was amazing. The staff were so accommodating with everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the reggae restaurant was a really cool place to watch the sunset with great food and drink. Would 100% come back.
