We stayed in a private pool with ocean view room and it was worth every penny. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Only downside or upside is that it is secluded. You’ll need to use their free shuttle service or rent a scooter to get into town.
We came to Crown Lanta for the first leg of our honeymoon, which turned out to be amazing! It was clean, beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming. Walking down the beach we saw a lot of resorts, but we definitely think Crown Lanta is absolute best one by beauty standards. We were welcomed with some Welcome Drinks and cold towels (which smelled absolutely amazing!!) We got there earlier than our check-in time, to our fault for not letting the Resort know that our flight arrived pretty early. Since our room wasn't ready, they allowed us to change into our swimsuit and enjoy the pool and private beach while we waited. We relaxed until our room was ready, and the staff brought our room key and luggage to us at the pool, then showed us up to our room. Staff were so happy and attentive the whole stay. We want to give a special shout-out to Mood, every time we saw him he immediately made us feel happy with his joyous smile and upbeat personality. The resort has a transportation service within their grounds because it is quite hilly. Our room was a bit far from reception, so we utilized these vans A LOT. We never had to wait for one- there was always one near reception when we got to the hotel, and if we called for one, a friendly staff would arrive in two minutes or less. The food is and spa is a bit pricey especially when you compare to the prices on the beach. Beach massage is 300 Baht, and at the hotel it was 1700 Baht. Food was usually triple the price at the hotel as well. We only ate here once (besides breakfast) and it tasted nice. Breakfast was included in our package, and it was a huge variety and quite tasty. The Guava juice is awesome!!! Plus, you can't beat the view from the breakfast restaurant. We opted for a Sea-View Deluxe room. The view was absolutely fantastic, especially for a sunset. There was a nice balcony, with a fan and light to enjoy and relax in the evening. The shower was a rain-shower, and had the view of the sea as well. Plus it was super spacious. It was cleaned really well every night when we returned. Thank you Crown Lanta, and to the Manager, Zaki, for our amazing stay!!!
The rooms were lovely and clean. Our room had a stunning view of the pool and beach. The bathroom had a fabulous shower that looked out at the view as well. The staff was eager to help and I was impressed that everyone (down to the maid service) knew basic English. The breakfast (included) featured a huge assortment of Thai and Western options - made to order eggs, soup, stir fries, pastries/breads, fresh pancakes and waffles, lots of juices and smoothie blends. Beside breakfast the food was mediocre and a bit pricey. I'd recommend going to the town or to one of the restaurants on the beach instead. There is a private beach and direct access to a public beach. It is easy to stay at the resort the whole time and never leave. If you want to go to town, the hotel has a free shuttle but it only runs 2x a day. An uber or tuk tuk is very cheap tho.
Arrived at the resort from Lanta resort we had high expectations and we stayed in the private pool villa which was perfect and I jumped in the pool as soon as we checked in to cool off.. was private overlooking the cliffs. The room was nice and bigger than I thought so I was pleased. we were located right in the middle of things so it was a great location close to the pool and spa and 5 minutes walking to breakfast and 3 minutes to the reggae bar.. The pool was nice and not crowded so we enjoyed and walked down to the beach to see the sunset which was nice, the cocktails were not that good so a little disappointed but the sunset made up for it. we also walked to the private beach and was nice too. Tide was out and could walk easily. We like to check out the other resorts too. we found a nice one that was mostly Thai but the rooms were nice and the open restaurant was nice and cheap. The laundry service is so over priced at the resort so we went outside to drop off, but be careful cause they like to take some of your clothes to sell them so count them before you drop them off and it was cheap and they delivered to the resort. The first night they had a seafood buffet, it was not that good and way over priced for what you get so we were really careful what to do for foods at the resort after that. The cooks and chefs were nice but the foods for us were not that great. Breakfast on the other hand was decent and a good variety. please make sure you take time to go to the reggae bar its awesome, night time you can lay down next to the ocean and listen to music and they have good foods and good drinks, was really cool The price of the room wasn't the cheapest but it was a good rest and was safe and quiet... The spa was excellent, we went for a 2 hour massage treatment and was incredible, the girls were really nice. I had a really severe sunburn and one of the massage girls brought me some real aloe plant from her house and I went there and they prepared the aloe for me to rub on my skin.. I was overwhelmed... Never had I seen such service.. they were incredible and made my trip.. please praise them and I wish that I had more time to go back again and again... We walked to the private beach and found a nice local resort to sit outside and have lunch and it was so good we had dinner there too outside the resort.. Its the resort right next to the crowne Lanta.. the service is so so but the foods were good and we would go back there again.. Our image of going to Thailand is to try Thai foods so a local place was perfect for us and there was a European menu but we didn't order anything from that.. They had a shuttle that took you to town and dropped us off so that we could change money and buy some beers, get some trinkets, shopping and walk around the town.. Then we took a tuk tuk back and the driver was so nice he stopped so we could drop off our laundry... Overall the place was really nice and its worth going and I just think that a vacation is what you make it.. We booked snorkeling to Koh Ha and Koh Rok by speedboat and the pick up and drop off was really close but the speed boat ride in choppy seas and watching the Chinese tourists vomiting was hard to handle.. we booked from the travel desk at the resort and the snorkeling was great and the fish and sea were perfect so clean and clear but watch out for the rip tide its really strong..
This was our second time here, and it was just as great as the first time. Last time we were younger and more adventurous, this time we travelled with our 10 month old baby. This hotel suits pretty much everyone, and I promise you wont be disappointed. Since this was our first travel with a small child we decided on Koh Lanta and Crown based on the fact that Thailand and its people are very child friendly. We booked a room with direct pool access which was perfect when you travel with smaller children. On the *deck* there is almost always shadow, and you can be in the pool but still hear whats going on in the room. Then we have the amazing, adorable staff. Big shout out to Nam, Jane and Kwan at the front office for always helping and being so wonderful to our son Milton (Aka Michelin). Always smiling and always friendly and service minded. They are the reason we will come! back! And also a big thank you to Noona at the breakfast, always smiling and talking to Milton! We can really recommend Crown and their amazing staff! //Michelle, Markus and Milton aka Michelin
We arrived today and it is truly disappointing considering the amount you pay per night. We have been to many Ressorts in Thailand and when booking a 4+* and for 145€ per night, you would expect clean bathrooms (mineral build up on showers) and lots more amenities in your room (eg beach bags). Accessible pool rooms are nice but pool is filled with dead bugs and leaves. Sounds nit-piggy but for the price and when comparing to other resorts it is a true disappointment. Staying here until 10/11 and arrived today. Happy to review feedback with management.
The Crown Lanta has amazing views over the Andaman sea, and as well as direct access to Klong Dao beach, the resort has its own private enclave of beach and ocean just for its guests. Since most of the guests preferred one of the two public pools, at times we were the only ones on the beach and in the sea! Perfection! The pool villa offered amazing views over the rest of Koh Lanta, as well as lots of nature and trees for privacy. We had blackout curtains so the sunrise didn't bother us, and the pool villas facing the sunset were offered a daily treat of stunning Koh Lanta sunsets from their own private infinity pool! The Staff were also incredibly friendly, patient and helpful, and helped to make our trip unforgettable. We visited the infinity spa and tried the Swedish massage package, which was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating and I would recommend this treatment to anyone looking to unwind. I fell asleep immediately afterward! Overall a stunning resort and an unforgettable experience!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Crown Lanta. The staff was friendly, the food was great (as long as you stick to the Thai entrees), and the views were spectacular. My room was clean and comfortable. It's quiet and boring, which is just what I wanted. It was the perfect place for rest and relaxation. In fact, I liked it so much that I cancelled my reservation elsewhere and stayed three extra days at the Crown Lanta. I would definitely stay there again.
Crown Lanta is really a great resort with all the trimmings. Super friendly staff, delicious food, wonderful place on a rocky point of the island of Ko Lanta, and a good base if you want to discover the island and a super nice resort in style. We had a room with direct access to the swimming pool. Ideal if you like privacy please. It felt like a private pool. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped. Location is excellent. There is also the central pool, entirely in style where you're coming from the water on your stool to SIP a mojito can. The Genaral Manager Mr Vichit Somboonchoke does everything to its guests to their liking ... Finally, the hotel has a number of exclusive spots: a great Rocky sand beach where no one is not to mention a fantastic sunset ' reggae ' bar where you can enjoy the sunset in a tree house. The control causes the you want for nothing. In short, highly recommended where the month of October for us was the best time for a visit to this tropical island! Warm greetings to the manager and staff at Crown Lanta Willem and Elly from Netherlands
We spent 2 weeks in this lovely hotel and just had a great holiday. The hotel itself is located in a very good spot on Lanta, it is very pretty with lots of green and does not seem crowded as it stretches over a private peninsula. The most important thing was the amazing staff. We had never experienced such a friendly atmosphere at any other hotel before and felt welcomed at every stage. The front office, the drivers, the restaurant staff and also the cleaning staff. Just amazing. A special thanks to Nam, Kwan, Jane, Aom, Boy, Sak, Tek and Saw but also everyone else who made our stay this great!!!! We definitely wanna come back next year :)
