It has taken me a while to write a review about my two previous stays at Hotel Zeus but reading some negative ones I felt it was time to add my own experiences. Stayed in May 2016 with my Mum & daughter then again in Sept/Oct 2017 with my Mum & Mother-in-law for 11 nights. The family that run this Hotel are amazing, Maria, Zach, Nickolas, Manos & Sonia (sorry if I have spelt incorrectly) are all wonderful, the Hotel is very clean and the family are so friendly they made us feel so at home. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them and made our holiday very special. The breakfast is a little basic but what do you expect for the price! You can pay a little extra and have lots of other things to eat, I am not one for stuffing my face so it was perfect for me, coffee/tea, bread and jam is fine. The pool and bar area are spotless, the rooms are absolutely fine and were cleaned everyday by very hardworking ladies who were lovely. The Hotel is in a perfect spot, quiet but with a Supermarket close by and lots of restaurants plus a short walk to the sea. What makes this place special is the family that run it, Nick is the joker of the place and is always ready for a laugh and tries to keep everyone happy. I love the people and the Hotel and will be returning again in September knowing that I will feel welcome and safe, I would give it 10 stars if I could, amazing place and wonderful, kind people.....see you soon Hotel Zeus :-) Lisa Bishop and Linda x

I was travelling with my daughter and we were totally dissatisfied with the welcome, the awful room, the service. This hotel suits the older generation who seem happy with Zeus. The reviews make out this is a good hotel. Don’t be taken in as I was. The breakfast was a joke.... the place is full of smokers.... I complained to my tour company and had a small refund. I gave stayed in several family run hotels on the Greek islands ... always lovely.... not this one!

Absolutely fab hotel , spotlessly clean , better than some five star places I’ve stayed in ... The family are all lovely and helpful with anything you need , including the bartender Nicolas playing opticians and fixing my broken glasses . Will definitely be going again ...

Hotel run hotel great, peaceful time we went . Bar staff great ( nicholas &manos ) and rest of family super, in a good location not to far from beach and bars &restaurants. Would hire a car next time to tour island, definitely be back in future

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 11 days this october. The hotel was brilliant, the room in which we stayed was great you deffinatley get what you pay for and there was no complaints what so ever. The family run hotel were indeed very friendly, helpful and would attend to your needs right away. We got to know the locals and again they are all very polite and make you feel at home treating you like friends and not just like another customer. The facilities are very up to date. The pool was cold buy didnt bother us at all as the hotel and bar was very clean and tidy. Plenty of sunbeds and space of your own. Good was very good too. Especially the salads. Highly recommend! Overall it was the best place for is to go and it wouldn't be the same without Nicholas.. He was the life and soul. He made our nights at the bar. Extremely sarcastic may we add but he is always funny, polite and makes you feel like at home! The bottom line is we had a brilliant time and deffinatley returning next year. It wouldn't be the same if the hotel was in any other hand. Topped off a great holiday!!! Ps (Nicholas malakas) Thanks to your family you were all great see you next year!

I have now stayed at the Zeus on a number of occasions and can't fault anything about the hotel. The rooms are basic but well appointed. Yes the breakfast is also basic but there is an option to purchase hot food at very little cost. Remember this is Greece and a 2☆ rated hotel. Unlike a report from another solo traveller I can't fault any member family that own the hotel, they are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have never felt unsafe and I have had rooms on both ground level (otherwise called the basement) and upper levels. Yes there can be a wee bit of noise from the bar area but this is easily sorted by the closure of the soundproofed door. Whether you wish to spend your evenings in your room, in the bar or outside in the resort you are treated no differently from other guests.

I had contacted then hotel well in advance, advising them I was a single female travelling alone and requesting a quiet room - as it was at the end of the season I was told that this would not be a problem....that was until I arrived. The female matriarch running the hotel has a really bad attitude towards solo female travellers and she was rude on every occasion that she saw me, compounded by the fact that I am teetotal and therefore was not throwing money over the bar. I was put in a room in the basement, with a patio that opened out onto a car park and road - not quiet and certainly not secure or safe! Eventually, after 48 hours, I was moved to a ground floor, which may as well been on the M25 for the noise! She did inform me that she had taken the television out of my room to ensure it was 'quiet' enough for me! The verbal abuse went on for the entire week, leaving me dreading returning to the hotel, contemplating finding other accommodation and leaving me in tears. The crazy thing is, I'm a travel blogger and photographer and had told them that I would be reviewing the hotel for a solo travellers website and magazine. Needless to say - Thomas Cook is now dealing with my complaint. Other points to note - The shower floods the bathroom, as the wet room is poorly designed and the towels are in shreds, so take your own. Breakfast, which has been noted by many on Trip Advisor is a complete joke - three pieces of pre-cut bread, a pat of butter and a portion of jam. There are no kettles in the rooms - so take a small travel kettle with you. The hotel is known for its regulars and consequently it is very 'clicky', one said regular informed me that as I didn't drink alcohol, I had no business being on holiday and I certainly wasn't welcome at the Zeus. The noise at night is horrendous - the bar hosts quiz evenings, BBQs etc and it goes on late into the night, however, you can enjoy the sound of people throwing up and arguing alongside that as the walls are paper thin.

2nd visit this year. This is an outstanding hotel in every way. A fantastic family run hotel. Superb service. Immaculate clean rooms and public areas. Breakfast is basic but lovely and fresh. The funny 2 barmen really make you feel welcome even if their English isn't the best I think one was Spanish. To sum up this is truly a fantastic place to stay but I don't want the whole world to know about it just yet so...Keep it a secret.

It was getting to the end of season and my wife and myself were looking for a break to set us up for the winter month when we spotted The Zeus Hotel in the travel agents window. That was our really good Fortune from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the Hotel is one of the cleanest I have ever visited, the rooms are cleaned and fresh towels laid out daily. We found out that most of the people that were staying there were people that had returned for a second or third time and I can see why, we will certainly be returning. Breakfast is 8am till 10am and is a typical Greek Breakfast however you can purchase a full English Breakfast if you wish. The pool area is just a magnificent sun trap you are quite happy to spend the day round. The hotel enjoys a 2 star rating from Thomas Cook but to be honest with you I have stayed in 4/5 star Hotels that haven't been as clean and welcoming as this Family run Gem.
