There are a lot of great features of this hotel, making it a perfect place to stay for families with children, but it has also some nice features for those on a romantic break. Some of our favourite things about this place: -friendly staff, lots of nice people who smile and chat to you and are clearly happy to be there, lovely waiters, receptionists, cleaning staff - everyone was friendly and keen to help - gorgeous and huge gardens, well maintained, with interesting sculptures (modern take on mythological figures using metal scraps, I loved them), the sea view at the background means that walks around the property are very pleasant, buildings are also well designed and blend with the green gardens perfectly - it is a very big hotel and I am not a huge fan of that, but because of the property being so big, rooms being in small bungalows around the area, and having many green spaces and lots of different swimming pools, the only time it feels like a large hotel is at breakfast (we did not take half board as preferred to use more quiet restaurants in the evenings) -lovely spa, highly recommend, I had an experience in 5 star hotels before of massages being expensive but not better value than much cheaper massages round the corner. This is not the case here at all, the welcome massage was excellent, one of the best I ever had. I also had a pedicure and it was fantastic. My husband also loved his massage and his pedicure and I can honestly say his feet never looked better :) -ice cream place within the hotel is fantastic, the sorbets sweetened with stevia, delicious, we would not even realise they were sugar fee if I did not notice the sign -also great hairdresser within the hotel -there are loads to do for kids and kids breakfast counter, we have not used it as our daughter is just an infant but I can see how much fun it would be for older children - the hotel is emphasising the sustainability message, which I support -iPhones in each room with internet that works in the whole island, amazing, it was so useful for maps as my phone's internet did not work in Kos Town Some things that others may want to consider: -pools looked great but for me it was too cold to swim in October, as the wind was very strong, many people swam, I guess they were more resilient to cold than me :). -there is an adult only pool in the hotel as well as spa area and bars for adults only allowing those who did not come with children to have a quiet time, Osteria (Italian restaurant within the hotel) had a lovely piano music on most evening and was not too busy -a beach restaurant tam tam is very close to the hotel and has some nice Greek food, grilled fish is the hotel's taverna is very expensive, tam tam's fish was about half price of that. Bus to Mastichari or Kos town is not expensive and allows to see a bit of the rest of the island Finally a few suggestions that I believe would make the hotel even better (I still rate this hotel as 5 stars as those are small points in my view compare to overall experience of excellent quality) -indoor pool could be warmer, for people like me, who come in October and find the outside pool too cold (the indoor pool is 21 degrees I was told, I think 30 would be perfect) or heat up one of the outside pools to that temperature -you could mark clearer gluten free food or display information about how to get it at breakfast. We asked for gluten free bread at bread counter on the first day (very nice, by the way) but it always took a long time as people there were very busy. Three days later seeing how much pastry was available during breakfast I asked if maybe there was gluten free cake and we got a plate with a few slices on it (lovely cake by the way). Another few days later we were told this actually needs to be ordered from waiters. My thoughts are, if I did not ask, we would have never known about the cake and shouldn't it be made clear that gluten free bread is ordered from a waiter not from the bread counter. On some days there were other things that appeared to be gluten free (rice pudding, semolina sweets, some other small milk-based desserts), but it was not marked as such so I was not sure. I suggest you can put information somewhere who to ask and a staff member could show around people with allergies or give them some written info as to what is gluten free (or lactose free or whatever is the requirement they have). I can also see someone wrote in the review that they had gluten free pancakes and waffles. Is that true? we were not aware this was an option. -Maybe you can invest in a good water filter? In the room we used bottled water to make tea, the tap water tastes really bad, maybe in coffee it does not matter much, I don't know, but I found that camomille tea is too mild to cover up the weird taste, when I ordered it I could not drink it, peppermint was a bit better but not much better. In the end we just drank tea in the room before or after breakfast and ordered other drinks with dinner. -we loved the Greek dance show in the tawerna and wondered if something more music-wise could also be available a bit earlier (there were musicals starting at 9pm or 9:30pm, which is late for some people with small children) -I don't know if it is possible to spread out people having breakfast a bit more, at times it was very busy, loud and chaotic Once again, thank you to all the lovely staff who made this stay so enjoyable for us
This hotel is one of the best I visited recently. The room is perfectly clean, well maintained. All public area, indoors and outdoors, are in perfect condition, as if built last month. The swimming pools are clean, grass is cut, all pool and outdoor furniture looks new. The restaurant served great breakfast. Special attention to kids with low bar they can help themselves. One of the pools is for adult only, so it is quiet, if you are looking for it. Highly recommended.
For a family holiday this ticks more boxes than most resorts. Fantastic children's water pool Good children's club for over 5's with lots of activities. Room quality 3/4 star food quality 3/4 star . Fresh orange juice is a must at any 5 star rated hotel . The kids don't care but adults notice. Prepayment for your stay is not ideal either as your negotiations are limited once they have your money. Would I stay again maybe but improvements need to be implemented in food quality to attract return clients
Very good place, we enjoyed every minute. Alotof things to do. Good service. Nice restaurants and welcoming staff. Few swimming pools around and amazing beach. The rooms are clean and had everything you need. Reccomended!
We went here for a week, and it is a very nice resort. The room was nice and a lot of space and although we had view to the pool, there were no noice at all. We played Minigolf, used the fitness facilities, took the windsurfing snupper Stunde and rented Mountainbikes- everything was so fine and all the staff is very polite and helpful. Every staff you meet says Kalimera and smiles. We saw one of the shows at the Theater and it was very entertaining. A special thanks too all the chefs, the staff in Taverna, and Elli at the Proteas. She gave us a special and exclusive dinner experience and she made the best crepe Suzette. We can definitely recommends this resort.
We actually spend our fifth holiday at the Neptune Hotels Resort and Spa. The policy is sustainable so we find usually the same staff each year. It is a kind of coming home and feeling well. The appartements and rooms are spread widely and embadded in a great and well arranged garden. The animation team is acting reluctant, the bars and restaurants are in top conditions, the offered food and drinks good. The wine card is more or less local Greek. In the evenings it is quite silent from 10:30 pm. If you want to have party you have to go outside. I am confident that we will come back again.
It was the most awesome relax-vacation I've ever had. Starting from the reception, room, restaurants, facilities, theater, 5 pools, mini market, stores, spa, bars and ending with the people. The hotel is amazing, you get all you need there, we didn't have to go out from the hotel for a second. The view is so beautiful and relaxing, I have just good words to say about this hotel. Very highly recommended!!!!! Don't miss!! Thank you also for the surprise birthday cake, it was really touching ✨we'll be back again for sure.
You can spend time as family or you can enjoy as well time as a couple. Food is good and the surf / sailing school is well equiped. We spend a great time the 2nd time. My kidz like the entertainment very much. The rooms are ok and the housekeeping does a great job. We love to be here.
We have stayed at Neptune for 6 days and had an excellent experience. We have ordered one family room and our arrival we had notified that we had been upgraded to two separated adjacent rooms. The rooms were perfect with a great view to the beautiful pool. The resort is built of many small nice two story buildings with magnificent gardening and sculptures. The meals were excellent - the best we had experienced in Greece until now, and we had visited many hotels in Greece. The entertainment at night were also in good quality. The only thing is that Other restaurants than the main one, are in 50% discount instead of free of charge as we had on other hotel however they have great food there in very high quality and delicious. We had great time at the resort. The service was excellent. Most recommended!
Unlike some resorts of this quality and price, which become rather generic and distant, Neptune has an exceptionally attentive staff, excellent and modestly priced restaurants, and a pleasant and uncrowded feel although it is huge. Lots of free activities in the evening. We went to a tasting of local wines, a performance (in German) of the Lion King, a latin dance evening, a ballroom dance show, and a Greek music and dance evening. We don’t usually go in for these kinds of things at hotels, but all was very relaxed and fun. The resort caters mostly to Germans--or at least German seemed to be the predominate language being spoken--but they managed to keep their bathing suits on. They seem to have a mania for appropriating all the beach chairs, however, and we gave up after a while trying to get one. The hotel room was gorgeous and everything all top flight, though I learned they are going to be redoing them into the more minimalist kind of style that seems be ascendant in top hotels. Seems like a waste to me, since I thought our room was not only exceptionally well furnished but also very stylish. I guess this shows that the hotel is plowing in its profits back into services for the guests. Excellent beaches, huge uncrowded pools, all kinds of services and activities. We had a small glitch with our wifi and two technicians came to the room within 5 minutes and fixed it immediately. I have stayed at other top resorts in Greece--Costa Navarino, the Domes in Elounda, etc. This one has the most authentic Greek feel and the one that was the most pleasant. There was a 6.7 earthquake on Cos while we were there. Our suite shook a lot, but there was no damage and not even a crack anywhere. The whole resort was in perfect shape and everything was functioning in the morning as if nothing had happened. Pretty amazing.
