We had an interesting stay here... mainly because we were here during an earthquake, which had 7 days of strong aftershocks. The good: A lovely hotel setting. As many have said, a fantastic initity pool, with incredible views of Turkey. The room was just fine, nice decor, good facilities etc... and we had a great view. The food was good and had lots of variety. The drinks were ok, in no way bad, but not delicious. The hotel staff were all brilliant (less so at the pool bar, where they priotised non AI vistors). The location is great - hill side, away from the main town but only a 15min bus ride into Kos Town (runs reguarly from the hotel and was free after the earthquake). Lastly the hotel and staff dealt with the after effects of the earthquake incredibly well. Thank you. The not so good: Again the pool bar service ... given the cost of staying here AI you'd not expect to be ignored or forgotten. The cost in general, the hotel was very expensive to stay at and i would say it is a 4* rather than a 5* (with the exception of the pool). Big watch out, because the hotel is close to Turkey it contects to Turkish mobile services and therefore not included in your own data plan which the EU is.... my phone bill was terrible. Regardless of the cost, and more importantly the bad earthquake we had a good time.
If you are reading these reviews to decide on where to book your next holiday STOP RIGHT HERE. You NEED to come to this luxury holiday resort. From the rooms, to the staff, to the pool and views, to the food - everything was flawless. The beds were so comfortable and large, I barely even noticed I was sharing it with someone! The food.. omg.. amazing! Bar far the best breakfast I have ever had on a holiday and the lunches and dinners were spectacular! It was great to be able to try loads of greek dishes without even having to leave the hotel (which was great because we didn't want to have to leave!). The restaurant manager and staff were absolutely perfect, all of them so friendly and attentive to make sure you were having the best possible time. The evening entertainment was also spot on. This is not a party resort, this is a relaxing holiday resort and spa so don't be expecting evening raves - the entertainment was a mix of relaxing acoustic singers and themed nights such as authentic greek and fun dances which were great for getting everyone involved! The pool and views were out of this world - one in a million. The pool is a little cold but greece is hot so its lovely to cool down in! Could sit in those jaquzzis for hours and hours staring at the views over the turkish mountains.. with the blue of the pool, blue of the sea, and blue of the sky it really is blue as far as the eye can see! Lastly I want to note that the manager of this hotel really goes out of his way to ensure that people have the best holiday, and he has done a bloody good job at it because we had such a great time we are coming back again this year (and hopefully many more years to come!) Many thanks michelangeo for giving us such an amazing holiday, and we look forwards to seeing you again this year!) Alice and Gemma xxxxx
Stayed at the Michelangelo in October 2017 with my husband and daughter . Our room had an amazing sea view which also overlooked the fabulous infinity pool . The hotel and spa facilities were excellent. ALL of the staff were wonderful . Food was great in the David Hall but you must visit the Mediterraneo a la Carte restaurant at least once during your visit. Would definitely visit again. Thanks to Manos and the rest of the staff for an amazing time - we loved our holiday !
Loved this hotel so much. The room was perfect. We were lucky to have a sea-view room which was beautiful, immaculate and very clean. Also felt this hotel was quiet when you were in your room. Really didn't hear anyone above or beside us. The pools were amazing. We used the main pool rather than the infinity pool only because it was quieter. Food was great in David's Hall with a lot of variety. Definitely couldn't complain. Dined also at the Mediterraneo Restaurant which was one per stay and a breakfast per stay. This was al la carte with a gorgeous setting overlooking the infinity pool. George was fantastic and in particular when my partner was unwell. Room service and additional dinner and breakfast at the Mediterraneo. The bar staff made the holiday. Great service and just so friendly. Entertainment was also quite good. Reception staff brilliant and very helpful. The spa was MAGNIFICENT. Had about four massages and they were all fantastic. Using the spa is a MUST! I was a tad shocked at the older hairdryer. Would recommend taking your own! Would definitely go back to this holel - loved it!
Perfect relaxing break. Meals set it apart from any all inclusive we've been to previously, it was excellent. The gentleman who welcomed us each meal time always made us smile with his compliments about our attire. I wish I could remember the names of the young ladies who looked after the beach bar. They were so attentive, regularly coming to our beach beds to see if we needed anything. We did not spend much time at the infinity pool as the beds were so close together and busy, understandably so as it was a cool spot. But we enjoyed time at the small beach away from the crowd. Make sure you go all inclusive as drinks are not cheap if you are paying as you go. Short bus ride to Kos Town also very enjoyable. I'd fully recommend this resort to anyone.
Stayed at the Michelangelo summer of 2017 with my girlfriend. Lets just say worth every penny!! Rooms were amazing with great views, very clean and spacious. The pools were also very clean and well kept. The staff took great care of us, always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service. The food at the a la carte restaurant was exceptional. Order the seafood risotto which was delicious. Over all a great time, would definitely recommend and go there again next summer
Lovely resort to suit both young and young at heart. Very well appointed and although it is a bit pricey in high season, would definitely stay here again. Buffet breakfast is amazing with a fantastic choice. Rooms are comfortable, great views nice pools (though these do get a bit too crowded). Buses to town stop at the door and parking is good.
I want to find a fault. I cant. Everything was so very good. Staff deserve a mention, excepting one who has now been fired for being a pervert. Everything else is faultless. We found staff to be the highlight. Entertaining and fun. Food was good, not enough Greek food. However our waiters and bar staff directed us to so much fun. They even turned up later after they quit work with their families. Wonderful, as most Greek people are!!!
We had a fabulous time at the Michelangelo Hotel Resort & Spa, we have chosen this one as there was a great deal available at Voyage Prive. This was our late honeymoon and we got a superior room with sea view on the all inclusive package, this is a good deal with you mainly want to relax and stay at the hotel for most of the time. The room: spotless clean and the view was such a nice treat. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the balcony watching the view. The only note I have is about the shower, not the greatest, it was in such an awkward position and not as powerful as I would expect, but nothing terrible. Pool: huge pool and what a view, however it's really cold, there is no way you can heat a pool that size so, take a deep breath and dive in. Beach: to be honest it was my favourite place to stay, the sea is so nice and calm, the beach bar was great and the girls are all so lovely and trying to do their best. Great place for an iced coffee in the morning and a cold beer in the afternoon. Get one of those shoes to use in the water because the pebbles can be quite painful, the sea is worth it, go for it. Restaurant: As part of the all inclusive package you get one dinner and one breakfast at the restaurant by the pool (I forgot the name!), that was really good, food and service pretty amazing. However, the other days you have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same place, the food has a good selection and variety throughout the week. It is very clear that they try to serve you one drink and the second drink you kind of have to really call the attention of the staff so you can get service. I need to mention Stravos (I hope I am spelling this right) though, he was always very thoughtful and interested in how our stay was going, and trying his best to provide the best service, even though dinner service was so busy sometimes. If you are a foodie, you might enjoy going to town so you can have a meal at the great restaurants the town has to offer. We had loads of fun at the night at the bar, and we manage to relax so much. Overall he had a lovely stay and I think the hotel was perfect for our intention which was to mainly to relax and enjoy the sun and the beach.
Stated for 2 week summer holiday in August 2016. Party of 5 in 2 adjoining rooms. Rooms were tastefully decorated but one of our rooms was in average state for 5* resort. Had massive rip in net curtain over patio doors which staff did replace when we pointed it out, wallpaper was lifting from wall in places and furniture was chipped and in poor repair - one of the cabinet doors was broken and couldn’t easily be opened. All inclusive resort and on average food was ok. All meals buffet in main restaurant although you could book al a carte restaurant for dinner once per stay without extra charge. We ate there as birthday celebration and food was good. Buffet Breakfast was excellent, buffet lunch was good and buffet dinner was ok - bit hit and miss some evenings. Lunch at poolside restaurant was poor - extremely limited buffet and if you are from poolside menu it was additional cost - not what you expect for all inclusive. Bar service was hit and miss - if you paid healthy tips you got best service otherwise you could get ignored at times. Pools good although sun loungers hard to find from mid am onwards - no reservation policy which didn’t get enforced by staff. Beach stones and accessed by steps but water lovely and clear and calm which was great for swimming. Lots steps around entire resort so don’t recommend for anyone with disability or unable to cope with steep slopes. Had rental car which we used to visit Kos town several times - car essential if you want to leave resort. Would not return to this hotel.
