The resort is app. 40 minutes drive from the airport. All rooms have a view. Service and food is great. Only downside is the distance from the city and the recommended attractions. We rented a car so that was not a big deal.

My daughter and I stayed at the resort late July and early August. It was brilliant the staff could not do enough to help us, the kitchen staff excelled themselves with all the different varieties of food and desserts that were supplied every day. The room was spotless and the housekeeping staff came in every day to clean the room. The evening entertainment was superb with a different turn every night. The different pools were good and always clean. We could get a bus into cos town very easily. The resort is in a quiet environment and makes for a very relaxing holiday. We would definitely go there again and would recommend it.

This is my second time returning to this hotel, not as good as the first time as the vibe just wasn't there as much this year, it's is still an amazing hotel with lovely grounds. Most areas are very tidy and clean. Most of the staff are so friendly and happy. A couple of points to improve on, the Pool bar (down by the infinity pool) played the same music day in day out on repeat which got on a few people's nerves, also the rooms are very light in the morning, so could do with some form of shutter or blind also there were a lot of flies flying around during dinner. We did half board and the drinks by the pool bar are expensive, Red bull was €5 and on the can it even said €1.80 and a cup of apple juice was €3.50. Last year every Sunday was a DJ who really made the vibe by the pool bar. We decided to an exersion which was shocking, don't do the island hopping there's no safely precautions and people were being sick everywhere and none of the staff seemed to care. However the rooms are nicely decorated, clean and the bed is very comfy. Also I made some lovely friends who were around my age (I'm 16). I want to say a huge thank you to a couple of people who truly looked after me and my mum while we stayed, George who worked in the main bar, lovely guy and very friendly, Mariana* she also looked after us very well and always said hello and asked how we were. In the main restaurant Starvos was very nice and was always happy to see us and made us both laugh lots. The last person is Sophia she was one of the nicest friendliest people who I've ever met, always was happy to have a chat with us at breakfast and dinner and always asked how we were, all the people named above are very good at their job. I have been reluctant to write this review and have waited to give the hotel a chance to redeem themselves but I'm hitting a brick wall of denial by them... Before we traveled I emailed the hotel to asks if it was safe to travel there after the recent earthquake and was told there was no damage to the hotel and that it had all settled and there was nothing to worry about.. on our arrival this became apparently untrue. There were smaller earthquakes every day and night and when I asked the staff about this I was told that they happen all the time now and have not stopped scene they had the bigger one.. Personally I would not have traveled if I had been told the truth and felt very nervous being under the mountain when it happened. I went out of my way to email the hotel and was lied to and spent a lot of the time on edge. Now to the hotel itself... we came here last year and had the most amazing time and it was truly a 5 star in every department so had expectations of our holiday being at the same standard of last year... this was not the case! A lot had changed scene last year. As returning customers you have some bounces but no one knew we where returning customers so we did not receive any of these.. There where visible damage around the hotel, there was a crack across our ceiling so I asked to change rooms. When we went to the food hall there where so many flys around the bread and salad it's very off putting as it's not just one or two, to get away from the flys in the food hall we went outside where there is another problem with wasps.. there everywhere! So it's up to you if you prefer flys or wasps... on the Wednesday evening my partner started to feel unwell and had very bad cramping and diarrhoea by the next day we where both very unwell we asked for medicine from the reception which they gave us, after a bad night and a full day in our room Unwell I asked for more medicine but was told I would need to go to the the shop in kos.. we where in no way able to leave our room. After two days of not eating much we went down to the pool bar and had a nice day in the sun, I went to the toilets and was horrified to find someone had also had diarrhoea but had not been able to make it to the toilet so there was diarrhoea all over the floor and people had walked though it.. I reported this to the pool bar staff who seem to think it was funny! They called the cleaners but did not close the toilet so unsuspecting women with no flip flops on where walking right into in and the coming out in disgust and getting straight back into the pool!!!!!! I could not believe what I was seeing and no one was doing anything about it.. 20 mins later and god knows how many people had walked into and then go into the pool I could not watch anymore so walked up to reception and told them and five mins later the cleaner came. All around the pool area was a mess this never happened last year it was spotless, no one was allowed to drink in the pools but this year lots of people where doing it hence plastic cups and straws where floating in the pools and it looked so untidy Not what you expect from a five star hotel. The lifeguard last year was very strict but fair and she really keep the standard up this year the guy seemed like he could not care a less what was going on. Over the last two years we have spent thousands coming here and we could not be more disappointed in the way we have been treated. I am now on strong antibiotics and do not feel like I have returned form a five star holiday that we paid a lot of money for.. I have contacted the hotel shown all the pictures and asked for a refund or at lest part refund but had been told this is not a true picture of the hotel.. well pictures do not lie and last year when it was amazing I wrote just that. I will never return to the Michelangelo if there after care had been better we would have. My advice would be find a true 5 star hotel The staff are friendly but all seem to have the same denial approach to anyone that has a problem.

the best place for your vecation! wonderfull people , very qwait and clean. its seams like you are at paredise ... this place is heaven!!! the pool so clean and the view was woow you have to see it no word can explain it....

We've just come back from 7 nights all inclusive at the Michelangelo which we paid £3000 for. The positives: the pool really is 5 star quality with stunning views. The cocktails from the main bar are wonderful and the same for all/non inclusive customers. Some of the staff are delightful: Manos, Versallis, Spiros. Our room was quiet, peaceful & clean. Not so positives: It's advertised distance to the beach is 100m. This may be true but being built into a hillside the walk down endless steep steps to the beach is exhausting. This hotel is not suitable for those with any type of mobility issue in my opinion. Despite being asked not to reserve sunbeds this isn't challenged so if we were not out by 8am there was no chance of getting a sunbed. Lots of people were frustrated by this and ended up sitting on a wall or the floor for the day. The wifi is very poor all around the hotel and pool. There are no activities going on during the day and the evening entertainment was largely amateur, there are not enough seats and was never any real atmosphere created. You get a bottle of water in your room on arrival but after this if you wish to use the kettle etc you need to bring your own water. The Mediterraneo restaurant can be visited for breakfast/dinner once during your stay and whilst the menu food looks nice, all inclusives are limited only to a couple of choices. The lunch buffet there is very poor quality and I had to eat ice cream from a side plate using a teaspoon because I didn't want one of the stale cones that birds had been pecking. They took forever to locate a bowl and spoon the next day when I asked and acted like it was an unreasonable request. Despite having paid a very high price in advance we felt the all inclusive food was not of the same quality as the menu food we saw being purchased by bed and breakfast only customers. Their food looked 5 star, ours was 3 star at best. Our room was a superior double with balcony and sea view. The bathroom was tired looking and the shower fittings old with a leaky shower screen. There are elements of the hotel i.e. the pool area and lobby which are lovely and whilst we had an enjoyable week the basic standards of service, food choices, lack of entertainment and reluctance for staff to ever go over and above made me feel that it was not value for money. My view is that they are charging 5 star rates, yet offering a 3 or 4 star experience at best.

So we visited this beautiful place couple of days ago and what can I say except “simply perfect”. After some bad experience in the past in non-EU countries we decided to find a beautiful place within Europe where we came up to Michelangelo Spa & Resort. I simply fell in love with the ingenious panorama view. Beforehand we could only imagine by pictures how awesome the view could possibly be. In reality it is much more beautiful than I would have ever expected. Sitting at the pool bar and sipping one of the delicious cocktails or long drinks while having such a remarkable review was our holiday highlight for sure. I would also like to direct my very special thanks to our barkeepers Makis, Stathis and Maria! We really enjoyed being with you ;) Big respect from our side for such a great service and kindness. Pool(s) with Pool Bar: like said – great. Clean pool with great view. We were also impressed about the huge size of the infinity pool (I think one of the 20 biggest infinity pools worldwide if I remember correctly) The sea view is unforgettable. Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner: I want to keep this short. Breakfast was very good if you like sweet things or English breakfast. Jam, bacon, eggs in about 7 ways or baked beans were always there. If you are more in ham, cheese, nice soft bread or cereals it was ok but not perfect. Lunch was a little poor as you have to pay for most things beside Souvlaki, chicken nuggets or spaghetti Bolognese. But! If you are willing to pay you definitely don’t waste money ;) Everything we had that way was nice and solid. Let’s come to the most important (for me): Diner. Diner was just awesome. Everything they served was delicious. Various fish or meat. Salad in all possible ways. All sides they served were ingenious and neat. After all the only thing left is to thank Michelangelo for a great holiday. Hope to see you next year in the same quality. We had a fantastic time at the Michelangelo Resort and Spa. I think it's important to remember that there is a notable difference between a 5 star hotel and a 5 star all inclusive hotel. This is certainly the best all inclusive five star hotel i've been too, the buffet food was great, the drinks were generous and the staff were friendly. The beach bar was an unexpected bonus too. The spa was average and the water feature which features prominently in promotional pictures was never on.

just got one from a beautiful family holiday here. The infinity pool was definitely one of my favourite parts of the whole place, it really is beautiful. We were all inclusive, amazing drinks and amazing food. The staff were great. an Extra special thank you to Stavros in the restaurant, always with a big smile on his face and he could not do enough for you; he is asset to your hotel. Being greeted by Manos at breakfast and dinner time was lovely too, always happy and very nice. Polis on the main bar was also amazing, he was also always very happy and he has a lot of work to do on his own but manages greatly by making the best cocktails ever!! We hope to be back soon! We had a wonderful time here. Lovely white buildings, very clean and well kept. Staff were amazing and provided an excellent service. Facilities good, 3 pools, 3 restaurants, entertainment every night, pebble beach etc. Only 10 mins to Kos town on the bus. Didn't want to leave. MN
