We came here last year for a week, loved it, and returned for a week this year to enjoy it even more. The rooms with sea views are lovely, and all the facilities are very clean, bright, and modern. What makes it though are the staff and overall quality of service. From breakfast with smiling staff bringing coffee and clearing plates-thankyou Geralda, Anastasia, Stavros, Alexandra, Andromache, and the very cool maitre d', to the beach bar where Jenny and Lula are busy and smiling all day bringing coffees, piña coladas, water, and Sajmar ( spelling?) kept everything clean and organised, to the bar in the evening where George and Vasilis were attentive with drinks. We were never kept waiting for an order, and there was always a smile, a joke, and a return visit later to see if we needed more. The lobby staff ( Alan and other reception staff)) were very attentive and although very busy, always had time for a cheerful 'kalimera' . He arranged our visit to the winery and was always helpful. We had asked for our room from last year, which was unavailable for the first night but then was free, and the swap was made cheerfully and swiftly. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, and if we have omitted anyone we are very sorry. The food was excellent, the man on the evening roasts was deservedly very proud of the quality of his meat, and we really enjoyed the Greek selections as well. All the meals were excellent, never boring, and tasty. Thankyou to the kitchen staff. The entertainment was good fun, particularly the Latin evening where we enjoyed taking part, and the quality of the sax/piano duo, who were excellent, and the traditional Greek dancing. Wonderful holiday, made better in every way by the wonderful staff. We hope to return next year.
From the moment we arrived here we have been made to fell special. We arrived at midnight and were treated to some cool and revitalising drinks whilst the reception staff took care of all our needs with the minimum fuss. Our room is standard hotel size, not the best we've stayed in, but very clean and well appointed (apart from the shower which is very basic!) We are staying on an all inclusive basis. The first impressions of the buffet was that it displayed very restricted choice. However, and its a very big however, the food is absolutely amazing. The freshly carved meat is stunning, and has been different every night so far. Often with all imc. We need to escape a couple of nights to add variety to our pallet, not here!!! Thehotel is about 10k from Kos centre, and is "in the middle of no where", literally at the end of the road. A service bus leaves regularly (at least once an hour) and takes about 20 mind to get to the harbour. The facilities at this smallish hotel are good, sometimes outstanding. The infinity pool is stunning. The views accross to Turkey are out of this world! I would definitely revisit this hotel if there weren't so many other places to visit!
I would definitely recommend this place and I have no hesitation in going back coolest swimming pool of the island, peaceful atmosphere. You’ll find a private pebbly beach a couple of steps from the pool deck. There’s a wooden boardwalk running parallel to the shoreline, We will back next summer
We celebrated there our first anniversary and we did the best hotel choice. The pool is huge and the view fantastic. Every morning we had a super coffee from Athena in main restaurant. Sometimes we were at the infinity pool but sometimes use the relax pool close to the main bar. The tall restaurant manager was always there to find a nice table for us and to suggest a good Greek wine. Best night was with Deimos the musician and Vasilis cocktails. What can I say, amazing well managed hotel with very friendly staff. We will come back again.
I have just got back from an amazing stay at the Michelangelo Resort and Spa and I can highly recommend this place. The infinity pool is clearly the biggest selling point, it's huge (therefore never too busy) and the view from there is absolutely stunning. It's true it can feel quite cold (probably more at beginning and end of season) but it was perfectly fine for me in mid-June. We also loved spending time at the beach in the morning, but I would recommend bringing shoes for the water as the small rocks can be quite painful. Another big selling point for me was the staff, always extremely kind and helpful - special shout out to Fotis and Maria Elena in the main bar, and the two girls at the beach bar. Some reviews say that it's difficult to get served if all-inclusive, but I haven't seen any evidence of that, quite the opposite! This is my third experience in a 5-star all inclusive in Greece, and although probably my favourite, I've come to realise that it's hard to find one that has got absolutely everything. For example, in this case I felt the room was a bit small and the variety of the food at the buffet a bit limited, but all in all I would definitely recommend this place and I have no hesitation in going back! For those looking for a transfer, I can also recommend kostaxi.eu, cheap and great service.
I've never ventured into the all-inclusive world before but was not disappointed by the Michelangelo experience. The infinity pool is incomparable, the choice and quality of food excellent but what made this a stand-out experience was the genuine friendliness of the staff who without exception were cheerful, amiable and delighted to help. We were only resident for seven days and, having only left the hotel once to sally forth into Kos town, it was beginning to feel a little like a gilded prison and would probably not be the best base for soaking up Kos's many other delights; as a place however to recharge the batteries, relax and still experience the filoxenia of this beautiful country then the Michelangelo would take some beating.
Fabulous hotel with superb facilities. The infinity pool is unbelievable. Fantastic holiday! Thank you to George and his team at the Juliano's Bar for taking care of us! Go and make sure you have at least one meal with another George (Dogras) and his team at the exclusive Mediterraneo restaurant by the infinity pool side. Amazing food, terrific service and breathtaking views. Thank you to all at the Michelangelo!
Our first trip to Greece in over 20 years, and we'll most certainly be back. Michaelangelo Resort and Spa was a great way to reacquaint ourselves with the Greek Islands. Firstly the spa was great. I had the best pedicure and manicure I've ever had, Anna was the lady who sorted my city feet out and made them flip flop ready! Secondly the staff, receptionists, restaurant manager, host, waiter, made our holiday brilliant. What can I say about the place. In general a little dated in decoration, but so clean, you quickly forgive the chintz as the staff outshine everything in this place. Our room was in need of redecoration but as it was kept so clean and tidy we had no reason to grumble, the cleaning staff were amazing, loved seeing them every day. So friendly and welcoming. The food in the main restaurant was fab. We were all inclusive and could not fault breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fresh and delicious, our waistlines however weren't as happy :) the only thing I'd say is try to eat outside, the terrace has more atmosphere. The house wines were brilliant, they also have some brilliant local wines to try, which we did on a couple of nights. The bar was lovely too, great coffee, cocktails and other drinks - all served with a a smile, again the staff were faultless. The mini mart and jewellery shops on site were well stocked and again managed by lovely people. The pools are clean and there is something to suit everyone. We liked the beach the most, but spent time by the gorgeous infinity pool and the main hotel pool. Also Mediteraneo the restaurant by the infinity pool, another delicious encounter. As all inclusive guests we were entitled to 1 breakfast and 1 dinner - just lovely. We went back for our final meal and it was stupendous. The bus times are great, you can easily get into Kos town and back and also the therma pools are just up the road. All in all we had a brilliant week away, Michaelangelo Resort and Spa is a lovely place, lovely people, lovely food, brilliant service. Ignore the reviews where people complain about the little things, because the people running the hotel make up for this is such a way, you can forgive the little things and look at the bigger picture. We'd recommend the resort to anyone. By the way, we are pretty seasoned travellers and have stayed in 5* hotels all over the world, this holiday will hold a special place in our hearts just because we were made to feel so welcome.
I have been home for 4 days and honestly missing this place so much! I have no idea where any bad reviews come from at all!!!!! We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff from start to finish, who were more than happy to be of service, they taught us Greek phrases when we asked and were genuinely great great people !!! We had lots of banter with the staff and they were always happy to join in, there was never a dull moment and I cannot explain how happy I was here!!!! The food choice is amazing !!! Food to cater for absolutely anyone ! The chefs are clearly great at their job to fulfil so many different, beautiful dishes ! Breakfast was so nice also! The staff were always on point to come over with coffee/tea/milk! We never had to ask for anything during our stay! The pool bar staff are wonderful, always around when you need them! So friendly also :) The room was also amazing !!!! The bed was soooo comfortable ! Clean and tidy!!! Exactly what you need. The bathroom - also spotless !!! Showers were lush!!!! didn't use the bath but the Choice was there. Weather - beautiful Lastly, the pool, the pictures don't even do it justice, it is so beautiful !!!!!!!!! The jacuzzis are a very good touch !!! Absolute heaven !!!!! Definately a five star rating and cannot wait to return!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU MICHELANGELO
This modern hotel is built on a hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea with Turkey a few miles away. Daily walking around the facilities therefore is guaranteed to give you calf muscles and a healthy appetite! We booked a Superior Double Sea View but on arrival we were "luckily upgraded" to a Junior Suite which we were told was a much bigger room - as we never saw our Superior Double we couldn't comment. What we wanted was a Sea View and hot and tired as we were we found the Junior Suite disappointing. These rooms are sited on the "original" hotel on the hilltop and therefore furthest away from the sea - our view was therefore of the rooms in front of us with the sea beyond. Also, it has to be said that these rooms are a little tired - no proper shower (handheld) and dated fittings. However STOP - don't move on to another hotel but read on! Despite these initial shortcomings we came to forgive the hotel because: - 1. The staff were without exception excellent - friendly and helpful to a fault. 2. The food was divine. We were on Half Board and ate to excess - how "All Inclusive" manage we don't know! 3. The Infinity Pool area together with other pools and facilities satisfy all your needs. These factors work to make any stay very enjoyable and if the bedroom's kettle takes an age to boil and if the Wifi is hesitant, who cares - relax and enjoy this superb hotel. The welcoming cool towels and lemon drink at Reception typifies the way everybody works to make your stay memorable. Car Hire is not necessary but a useful add-on as Kos Town (worth a visit) is about 5 kilometres distant. There are buses and taxis regularly calling outside the hotel and a large range of scooters, buggies and quads as well as jeeps and cars to hire. All in all a very enjoyable holiday. Although this was our first visit to Kos
