Stayed here for a few days a week or so ago. Thought it was very good value for money. Rooms very clean, everyone very helpful, pool lovely and breakfasts good. Had a lovely terrace overlooking the pool.
For a budget hotel it was fine. Kind of what you would expect in terms of room size and furniture. We stayed in a studio room for 2 weeks from 5th Sept 2017. We arrived quite late at night and on arriving were a little dubious about the room we were given as in the dark and after travelling and feeling tired, it looks a little naff. If you arrive at night you may think this too but it does look and feel better when you have sunlight! It also looks as though the hotel is in the middle of nowhere but the location is very good (see later down review for more info). The room could do with a bit of updating, particularly the electrics as there was only a few plug sockets (I advise you take a multi socket adaptor/one with usb ports on it). Also the lights would flicker when you have a few too many things going at the same time (kettle, TV and any other electrics). This was not a major issue at all, just a bit... quirky. The amenities for if you want to cook are a little sparse. No sharp knives so chopping anything hard will be a challenge but you can cook really basic meals if you want to. We cooked pasta one night and had a few other simple meals without cooking but ate out most nights. The shower was small which is a bit frustrating but manageable. The water pressure however left much to be desired, so it was a bit of a long time showering. If you have long hair it may take a while! We had a large balcony which overlooked the basketball court (East facing). Two of the fans from the aircon were on the balcony (the one from our room and the room next door). This wasn't a problem at all. It wasn't very noisy and after a while you can't really hear the fans. It does get a bit warm when both fans are going but the balcony is big enough that the heat doesn't really affect you. There is also a shaded bit on the balcony which was nice when it was too hot. The balcony got the sun in the morning so was nice sitting out there for a bit of morning sun and was ideal not to get it in the evening as it was cooler. The room was cleaned every day with the beds change often. We were really happy with the cleanliness of the place overall and could not fault that in any way. The pool was nice. When we went hardly anyone was around the pool so there was always enough sunbeds around and it wasn't overcrowded. I think the most that were there one day was 10 people! The thing we found that there wasn't really much atmosphere around the pool. I think this is due to the lack of a pool bar (it looks like there used to be one). So, if you are looking for something more lively, this probably isn't the place for you. We didn't realise it was something we would miss until we experienced not having a pool bar. The snacks and drinks on offer were okay. There were minimal things to choose from and no ice creams (apparently they stop doing them in September?!?!) There is water, a few snacks and other drinks but not a massive variety. We did not have the breakfast but from what we heard from others it wasn't great so may not be worth getting. The people running the place were nice and happy to help if we had any problems or needed to ask anything. Our experience was that they kind of keep themselves to themselves unless you make a point of engaging with them. We managed to get free air con. I'm not sure if this is standard or not... Apparently one couple was told it was 6 Euros a day... but we were not charged at the end of our two week stay for using air con daily. There is no safety deposit box in the room but there are ones in the reception area. We didn't bother using this facility. The location was fantastic. 5 mins down the road (out the hotel and turn left) there is a main road which has two supermarkets on it, one just to the right and one on the left further down the road. There are also a few tavernas along this road, mainly to the left. The beach is 10 mins from the hotel, you do not need a bike or car to get to the beach as it is so close. Left out of hotel, left at the end of the road and then most of the first few turnings on the right will take you down to the beach. If you go right at the end of the road (instead of left to the beach) and follow the road straight ahead, it is about a 20 minute walk into Kos Town. You will come out by the dolphin fountain by the harbour. Again, you do not need a bike or car to get into Kos Town. We walked everywhere and found it a really great way to get our bearings. If you do want to hire a bike, there are lots of cycle paths around and a lot of people we spoke to recommended it. Overall, we enjoyed our trip, and enjoyed staying at Leonidas but probably wouldn't stay in this hotel again.
Thank you Leo, your family and staff for a MARVELLOUS holiday. I unfortunately injured my ankle on my first day and spent the holiday on crutches. Leo and everyone helped my wife and me have a great time. We will DEFINITELY be back. The hotel is clean. The rooms well maintained. The staff are wonderful. The location is excellent. All in all FANTASTIC value for money. Once again thank you Leo.
Upon arrival I was a bit apprehensive because of the location, it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, so we unpacked and went for a walk to the end of the road, about a ten min walk at the most. You come to a supermarket then Turns out the beach is literally across the street where there is a tonne of restaurants on the beachfront. If you carry on walking right instead of going to the beach it's another ten min walk max to kos town. Gorgeous walk there too. Lots of shops etc. The rooms are basic. Clean. Lots of storage space, air-condition is fine, the shower is a bit hit and miss with whether you freeze or burn ha but it works eventually. The bed sheets get changed mid week and made most days, the staff are all lovely, didn't really talk to them much but when I needed to they were helpful. The pool is brilliant! Always spotless, sun around it all day. The loungers are clean and comfy. For the price we paid on a last minute booking I would definitely recommend, think we paid 350 for two people for a week. Also check out time is 12! I think that's good too. It is 100% better than the 1* it is rated. Don't let the star rating put you off.
We came for a fortnight break in Kos and even before we arrived were impressed with the value. The studio we were in was clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was perfect for early evening drinks or relaxing out of the sun. The pool area was fantastic with nice sunbeds, lovely pool. The hotel is located in a quiet area just a short walk (or bike ride) from Kos town centre with lots of restaurants and bars along the way. We hired bikes for the time there (about 1 euro a day) and would often cycle to Tigaki or Mammari for the amazing beaches (we also cycled to Kefalos one day which was great but far... better off getting a quad!). Walking back at night is fine so long as youre aware of the taxis driving along the road. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful. It was such a relaxing fortnight I actually managed to leave half my clothes in the wardrobe when checking out. I emailed the hotel when I got home and they sent them back (and even covered the cost). Truly and highly recommended to go to Kos and stay at Leonidas, still hoping I'll wake up tomorrow and be back there!
Another great month staying in Leonidas Hotel. This wasn't the first time that I stayed in Leonidas Hotel, and I show some more improvements since my last stay. The hotel personnel was even friendlier, the cleanliness of my room was perfect and they even suggested a great place to hire a scooter and a bike. Pool was fantastic and clean as always. Leonidas Hotel and Studios is THE place to stay in Kos Island. Everything was great and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you so much for your great hospitality.
We had never been to Kos before, so was not sure of the area we was going to. This hotel is not good if you have problems walking, it is down a long dusty road, that is quite dark at night, so always got a taxi back at the end of the day €6. when we was there it was all young people staying in the rooms, so was noisy at time with giggling girls running from room to room. We booked a room with a garden view, yes we got a garden view, but the hotel next door was closed down due to the refugees taking it over last year and is now in need of repair, we had a lovely view of a rubbish tip of all the old furniture from the closed down hotel next door. The room was very basic and the only electrics was a muti plug which held four different appliances which I think is very dangerous. The hot water came out like it was a water cannon and went everywhere in the bath room. One good thing is there is no refugees left near by as they have all been moved on. The staff are very helpful and freindly The pool is clean, we never eat here so can't say anything about the food , the bar is very limited. Would return to Kos but stay somewhere different.
Just back from spending a week staying hear in a studio room and can say nothing wrong with this hotel staff are fabulous very polite hotel is two star but pool should make that four pool is fantastic plenty of space around pool plenty of Sun beds shops and restaurants Ect five minutes walk large supermarket for what you pay it's worth every penny Family run hotel five star can not wait to go back

Let me start by saying that we only ended up in this accommodation through booking with Purple Travel. It was part of a package deal and we chose it due to it's location in relation to the town more than anything. The studios are great value on the surface; however expect a few extra charges to use the safe or the air-conditioning, although it's actually very reasonably priced and useful so you can't complain. Staff were helpful, friendly and easy to talk to and the rooms were spotlessly clean, we came home every afternoon (apart from Sunday) to freshly made beds and clean towels; a simple touch which made it all a lot more enjoyable. Pool area was adequate for sunbathing and relaxing, however pool itself was a little small and I was unable to swim lengths in it. That said, I was the only one attempting to! I think people much prefer using it to cool off which it was ideal for. Never had food in the resort as we spent most of our time out and about; but the menu was extremely reasonably priced and upon arrival at 2am we were offered a free drink to settle in which was a lovely gesture. Despite the devastating refugee situation I felt safe and at ease in the hotel itself; which I'm sure is reassuring to anyone worrying about their trip to Kos. Bottom line: Leonidas is no Hilton, but it has plenty of character and is ideal for cheap and easy getaways.
