A place good enough to stay. owner of the hotel is a greek family who lived for long period in australia and that is why they named hotel as koala..interestingly many family origanlly from kos somehow have relatives in australia..owners are very helpful and informative..the hotel is 10 minutes far from the harbour by walk..and also there is a small pool..
Had a nice stay. Room was cleaned, beds were made and towels were changed everyday, Breakfast was adequate, getting refreshed as needed. Owners spoke perfect English so communication was no problem. Rooms are a bit on the small side for 3 people, but you don't get to spend too much time in the room anyways, so not a big deal. Shower area was not covered with anything so the bathroom got wet everyday. It could have been fixed easily with a shower curtain. Location is very good, close to many restaurants. Would recommend to travellers looking for budget hotels near Kos center.
Very friendly family run hotel making you feel so welcomed. In walking distances to transport town and lots more. Freshly renovated neat and tidy accommodation and with open plan reception for an afternoon drink extremely relaxing.
Friendly family hotel, excellent value, clean , nothing is a bother , always willing to help, breakfast is also good, only down side is the bathroom which is very small, would definitely stay there again
I stayed for a few days after a sailing trip. The hotel is extremely clean and well looked after. A family-run place, the welcome is first class and the service is excellent and delivered with humour and care; really nice and helpful people. The hotel is well placed for Kos Town and there are a number of pleasant restaurants nearby. Excellent value for money, I wouldn't hesitate to book to stay there again.
What a great little hotel is the Koala! My wife and I stayed here last week. Located in a street just behind the Marina. The city centre is a 15minute walk away and easily accessible from any of the adjacent street. The Koala Hotel is a hidden gem. The room was simply furnished but was immaculately clean. Plenty of hangers in the wardrobes as well as extra pillows and blankets (not needed). A small fridge and A/C. Room was serviced, bed and towels changed daily. A simple but filling Greek style breakfast is offered. Things you MUST try the FRESH homemade lemonade. The fantastic Greek style scrambled eggs with tomatoes, peppers and feta (Strapesada). Run by Dimitris and his family the Koala's slogan is arrive as guests leave as friends 100%true! I am looking forward to returning to Kos one day soon and will definitely make my Base the Koala. Well done to Dimitris and the Patakos family on your friendly and professional service.
We have stayed in Kos Town several times whilst waiting for flights and this place is the best we have stayed in so far. The service and friendly banter was great. The rooms are comfortable and gave everything needed. The breakfast is good and overall the experience has been great.
If you are looking for a really good budget hotel in Kos, this is it. You get the feeling that the hotel is slowly being renovated the reception area being clean and modern, whilst our room not being quite so up to date. The bathroom was small, the shower curtain barely a curtain and you needed to stand in the shower tray to use the sink. That said the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was also good and the staff friendly and helpful. So as I say if you are looking for a cheap but good place to stay in Kos town then try here, if you want frills then maybe you need to look elsewhere.
Stayed at this lovely hotel in August 2016. Air con, small fridge, wifi and tv all included in room rate - which you often have to pay extra for. Very clean, well run family hotel with a lovely pool which we enjoyed most mornings before heading to the beach. Just out of town near the Marina but you can get into the centre of Kos Town from this hotel on a bicycle in minutes. Shops, bars, restaurants and bike/car hire all on your doorstep. Suited us perfectly. Thank you Dimitri, your family and staff, for a great week on a lovely island
What a lovely place. Clean tidy. Simple. Breakfast ok staff extremely helpful and friendly. Altogether a very nice base for a relaxing holiday. 10 minutes walk into centre for eating and drinking lots of different shops suits all pockets perfect place for me.
