The hotel is situated a short distance out of Kos town but in my opinion it was better for it, secluded apart from its sister hotel but peaceful nonetheless A beautifully decorated hotel in a contemporary style with white washed buildings throughout The pool was chilly to say the least but I think that was more down to me being a ‘wuss’ The sun terraces are spread out nicely and appreciating I went in October, there appeared to be plenty of beds with additional ones lined up along the stones beach (the only negative thing for me) Check in was a breeze and the room bright and airy with a superb view out to sea. It was the first time I had experienced having to wait at the doors to the dining room for a long while but the manager kept it moving as best as he could The food was plentiful and varied choices available, however at this time of year sitting outside on the terrace can be a tad windy resulting in food going cold quickly as well as yourself. Within the complex and towards the sister hotel was a Greek restaurant, which, in my opinion, is worth eating at every night. The Manager and staff were exceptional and the food amazing. The bar staff were friendly and very good at their jobs, in as much as when you were getting a bit low, a new one would appear as if by magic, cracking The evening entertainment was enjoyable, local and different but in a good way Would I go again & at this time of year - yes and yes
We visited the Dimtra Beach Resort last May with our three children and had an amazng holiday. The hotel and surrouding area is beautiful. We started our morning in the immaculate music pool bar with aqua aerobics and stunning views, azure blue and white. There were plenty of sun beads, bean bags and loungers. The canopied areas were popular with the boys for reading or ipad when the sun got too much. The afternoon was spent in the kids pool which was very child friendly. We initially had booked half board but realized by day two that we needed to upgrade to all inclusive, as the drinks and ice creams can add up! All inclusive was an additional 500 for the week but good value for 5 of us, I would recommend it. Food in the restaurant was nice and the menu's changed daily, highlights for the kids were pancake and waffle station in the morning and unlimited ice cream all day! We loved our time there and even recommended it to my parents who visited in September. They also loved it.
I had visited the Dimitra hotel, prior to renovation which even then it was a decent hotel. However, upon my visit post renovations I was extremely impressed!! The rooms (bungalow style) were updated to the max, beautiful decor, ocean view exceptional room service. Over all the staff and the restaurants and bars on site, were beyond 5*. Looking forward to visiting this summer !!!
Stayed at Dimitra for 3 nights. Given a very nice room with stunning views for the balcony. We took the half board package. Good variety of food for both meals. Location quite remote but worth it if in need of relaxation or some quiet time. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Dimitra.
Spent 8 days at Dimitra beach in 2016 and been impressed with the stunning views, nice selection of dishes and good customer service. The room we had was clean, spacious and had beautiful sea view -what could you ask for more when you wake up in the morning? Miss Kos and Dimitra Beach
Really enjoyed our holiday here but a few letdowns. The first is the annex rooms although fantastic views they are needing a bit refurbishment and we did feel a little bit like second class guests .We didn't complain as they we feel unless really bad we just get on with it .Towels wernt the best the room sometimes went without a clean and our bedsheets wernt changed in the 2 weeks we were there by the maids .We found the sheets ourselves. The climb up and down to the room was a struggle .There is a buggy that is usually busy with arriving /leaving guests ,another buggy would help .The main hotel area is lovely and a room here would make a difference they are all refurbished .The dining room is busy but we were never in a hurry and Victor always was efficient in finding us a table .The food is really good plenty choice and sweets are delicious .The staff are some of the nicest we have met ,polite happy smiley and so helpful .The ones that stood out were Victoria and George at the pool ,Katerina what a gem ,Llil in the lounge but all are hardworking and a credit to this hotel .Would we return ,maybe if the refurbish the rest of the hotel sort out transport around the hotel ,maid service try better and maybe add a little games room as apart from hotel entertainment not much else to do at night. Please don't be put off by negatives it is a lovely hotel and has positives just how we found it probably a bit unlucky .
I booked Dimitra Beach Resort for my honeymoon in September 2017 just from looking at photos online and it did not disappoint. I had booked a room in the main hotel but received a free upgrade on arrival from the lovely girls on reception. Our accommodation was upgraded to a bungalow which was spacious and beautifully presented. There was enough room in there for the wedding party to get ready with the addition of a makeup artist, hairdresser and photographer! Every meal time was an enjoyable experience with the chefs working very hard to create exceptional dishes to meet the tastes of all the guests. I was never disappointed, both in the main restaurant and the boutique Italian and Greek restaurant. Staff serving in the restaurant were very friendly and always happy to talk. I cannot fault them. Irene, Adrian and Katerina were such good fun. The pool facilities were plentiful and there was never a time when you couldn't get a sunbed. Other guests at the resort were extremely friendly too. A wonderful atmosphere overall. I had my family and friendly staying at the resort as they were there for the wedding and they lovely the experience too with my parents desperate and husband desperate to book up and come again next year! My only criticism was that real fruit juice for cocktails and breakfast would have been preferred. I recommend Cranberry juice as it was the real deal :) The staff made my honeymoon and wedding day a fantastic experience that I will never forget. Thank you to you all :)
A lot of people have travelled here and said great things, I now know why. Services available everywhere, buses take you to town in 15min, can call cabs for you in an instant, pools and food are amazing, quiet and peaceful, tucked away, the most beautiful views, staff there are so polite you wana just tip over and over, the captain at one of the main restaurants was brilliant, anything I asked for they supported me in, you can get euros at the hotel, you can rent cars, free lemon juice and biscuits every day, it is so white and clean, bedroom I had was one with a balcony, A***** for the view, bed was comfy so can't complain (were not gone be getting tempur), highly recommend fish night. If your looking for super entertainment and loud music not the place to be, more light hearted, family and couples.
My husband and I travelled in late October when the weather was still mid 70's every day and warm evenings, where a jumper was needed occasionally. Positives: We stayed in a premium beach front bungalow which had a lovely soft bed and pillows. The views from all over the resort were stunning. The food in both the buffet and a la carte restaurants were fantastic. The Asian buffet is probably the best Chinese meal we have ever eaten whilst on holiday. The grounds are spread out and well kept. The house keeping was first class. The beach, although rocky, had crystal clear water and great tropical fish. The staff were friendly and so were the cats. Negatives: Although all inclusive, we were limited to our drinks selection as they did not use fresh juices but watered down squash. This made the flavour of the cocktails a little strange tasting!!! The lunch time bar snack menu which included burgers e.t.c. was not included on the all inclusive package, which is unusual? Our room had out-dated and chipped tiles around the shower and an inadequate wrap around plastic shower curtain. (A glass surround is needed) The cupboard where we hung our clothes, smelt of damp and had obviously had water running down the back of it at some stage? Although there are 3 pools and separate childrens pools, none of them were heated! Although the resort is not within walking distance of anything, it is only a short bus ride to Kos town, which is well worth a trip. Overall, we would definitely return but probably on a half board basis unless they supply fresh juices? If they rectified just a few issues this could be a 5 star resort but at the moment is just lacking.
Ok so me and Hubby have just returned this morning from a weeks stay at Dimitra. Overall we had a great week, we wanted a relaxing holiday and we certainly had that. Before our trip I saw a few comments on here about unrenovated rooms.... this was never mentioned when we booked with Tui, I emailed the hotel as was concerned we would get one of these rooms .... we had booked a 2 bedroom sea view apartment... upon arrival we had been upgraded to a junior suite!! It was just as the photos showed. Food- excellent choices for all meals and all really fresh. Nice and hot food, desserts to die for!! Would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the main dining hall. Room: our upgrade was beautiful, however house keeping seemed a little shoddy.. we always had to ask for toilet rolls and sugar.. these were never filled up when the room was cleaned daily. Also we had a storm one evening and there was standing water on our balcony... this stayed there for the remainder of our holiday. Staff: majority of staff were really lovely- especially the restaurant staff, however the fella that sits by the pool on his phone most of the day... the lifeguard!... could do with some customer politeness training! Towels are limited to one per person per day which I was unaware of so when I picked 2 up he made it quite clear I wasn't to have 2!!! Some towels are very thin so could really do with replacing. The pool was freezing but we were in . As we were there right up until their last night we were a little disappointed yesterday that all cushions from the sun beds by the pool had been taken away. Entertainment in the evening was ok, but they really need to sort the music that is played in the bar and outside in the evenings... it's not the greatest and it's very repetitive. Overall we would return to Dimitra ... best bit about the hotel... the views are absolutely stunning .
