I have just returned from an amazing 2 week stay at Dimitra Beach - i highly recommend it and would return. Overall, i agree with all the positive reviews on here. In summary, this is beautiful hotel with truly stunning views everywhere you look. A chilled, relaxing place with great food and drink, lovely staff and a fantastic pool scene. I've never stayed somewhere in high season which was so easy for sun beds. You could always get a sun bed no matter what time of day. (Tip - the beach and baby pool ALWAYS have beds.) The pool scene is briiliant. 3 big pools all with a different vibe and personality. Most people preferred the main/big pool but we liked the second/middle pool which is next to the Greek restaurant. We stayed in the unfurbed family rooms which are of much controversy on here. i have no idea why. They are fine! Very spacious for a family of 4 and cleaned every day. If you have been looking at the pics of the lovely white refurbed rooms and are choosing the hotel because of this, ensure you request one of those rooms (and pay for it) or you will be disappointed. Food and drink great - but not all drinks are in the all inc menu so just double check that. The evening entertainment was good i thought - mainly live music and djs. No cheesy shows etc. (If thats what you like, dont go to this hotel - it has nothing like that) We loved the hotel but just a couple of things needing a tweak... Kids club - this is a real disappointment. Its more of a painting table in the shade then a kids club which is a real shame. Emi (this years leader) was great and my kids loved her. But there is no structure or activities and the kids are allowed to come and go when they please which doesnt really suit the little kids who cant walk off on their own. Its also not advertised at all so lots of kids didnt go. Again, a real shame. Day entertainment could also be slightly improved. There is water aerobics but maybe a few other game options would be good. Food is great - really lovely. But another lunch option is needed. Italian only serves sandwiches at lunch. Finally - WIFI is pretty shocking. Not a major deal but even making a call was tough in some parts. If you have mobility issues, maybe steer clear. Or if you have a buggy. There are tonnes of steps everywhere. As always, the people made this a great holiday. The lovely staff - vicky in the restuarant, Anastasia round the pool, Emi, George! And the fantastic friends we made. We were gutted to leave and i would return without question.
When we arrived I was a bit taken back, the entrance is small and more like a 3 star hotels entrance/ reception, but well inside it looked spacious and modern. Our room was big and with sea view- double bed with sofa-all newly refurbished and in white/ light gray. The shower is amazing in these rooms, loads of power and water. All- Is fresh and nice. There are 3 pools, each with a bar, where you get the 'new' daily beach towels from. There are quite a lot of pool decking chairs and a big variety of -relaxing to total relax- bigger comfier chairs further away from the pool, but with lovely sea view. The buffet is good, there is often no queue for lunch nor dinner- there is a good variety of choices and all is well done and very tasty. We had all inclusive- it's not. It doesn't include everything; Irish coffee is payable, Hot chocolate you have to pay for, etc etc. But most food and beverage are included... I just thought all inclusive meant just that- as we stayed in 'Porto Bellow Royal, Kos, last summer and there it means really- all inclusive. We didn't pay extra for anything. There are a nice gym, spa and tennis court in the sister hotel nearby. The gym is free but the spa cost ca £ 13/ day- full day access. Tennis is free. The beach has got pebbles but is well looked after and a nice beach- just 5 min below the hotel. The staff is very helpful. I would recommend this hotel, just note that if you like Kos or Paradise Beach- it's location is far away from things to do; Boat trips, scuba diving etc.
Second visit to dimitra beach and continues to be one of my favourite hotels and islands. A year since our last visit and still great customer service from the staff, great food choices and well-fitted rooms. All staff good but special mentions to Damyanka in the main bar and Anastasia in the Greek bar - the two places we spent most our time. Shout out to gardening and cleaning teams too as everything so clean and well kept. Most of the recent trip advisor reviews are accurate and I gave a full review a year ago so won't repeat too much. I gave four star rating last year and upgrading to five this year for two reasons. 1. We upgraded to a bungalow this year so experienced the white room. 2. We gave some negative feedback for only 1 of the 80ish good meals our party had and it happened on survey night. Didn't think too much of it and it was dealt with on the night, but personal senior management response a couple of days later was excellent and demonstrates how much effort goes into the customer experience. Great place and will have a third visit. Other difference this trip was a day with car hire to do a bit of sightseeing at our leisure. Driving on island is easy and so small it's easy to find where you need to go. Cosmos car hire in the hotel was very competitively priced and simple to arrange. Airport is still ill-equipped and not in standing with the rest of this great island... but writing this review at least occupied me for twenty minutes.
My family and I just returned from a mostly enjoyable week at this hotel which has wonderful sea views, tasty food and clean rooms. Most staff are friendly and some went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable including George at reception when we arrived in the early hours, providing us with an informative explanation of the hotel and sandwiches - a very warm welcome. Many of the staff in the main restaurant, bar and pool areas and outdoor spa were professional and helpful every day to accommodate our family party of 8 as we were celebrating my mother's 50th birthday, my parents' 20th Wedding Anniversary, my 5th Wedding Anniversary and my brother's 30th birthday. However, we were treated horrendously by the lifeguard at the main pool on the first two days of the holiday who singled out myself and my mother whilst alone by the sun beds to tell us off about reserving them for our family. On the second day, he would not leave us alone and kept coming over to shout at us and argue. Had there been no other sun beds for other guests to use there might have been an issue, but this was not the case (there were plenty of beds and we soon realised why). We were simply by the pool using some of the sun beds whilst the others were on their way to meet us, but the lifeguard Dimitris would not leave us in peace and kept trying to argue with us, pointing his finger and getting right up to my mother's face to shout at her. Luckily my father arrived at this point, but instead of apologising, Dimitris then proceeded to try to 'make friends' with my father who tried to calmly explain that his behaviour towards my mother was unacceptable. He then would not leave my father alone so my mother then left to complain to the manager very upset. We thought this would be the end of the matter and he would be dealt with, but once the lifeguard was phoned and told off, he started walking past us insulting us and saying 'thanks a lot'. This behaviour carried on so my husband and brother had to register subsequent complaints to the manager. We started to feel like we were the problem until we witnessed two sets of other women being told off and argued with about taking towels whilst the men were treated like old mates when they did so. On future evenings my brother found out from chatting with other couples and families that they had been badly treated too and were similarly shocked and outraged by his totally unnecessary and aggressive behaviour. We have never experienced this treatment before at any hotel. As a result, we spent that afternoon and the rest of our holiday at the other pool and never returned to the main pool just so we could have the enjoyable holiday we had looked forward to all year. The staff at the other pool and main restaurant had no problems with us and provided excellent customer service. It is a real shame this one member of staff is being allowed to so badly damage the reputation of this hotel, undermine the other staff who work so hard and is being given free reign to attack, terrorise and disrupt the stay of so many guests. We feel let down by the managers who failed to deal with the problem effectively. We expected to at least receive a follow up visit from a manager to apologise in person. Instead my parents got fruit and wine put in their room - not so impressive considering we had paid for an all inclusive stay. What is far worse is that the managers know this individual is continuously upsetting guests and they make excuses for him and won't deal with the problem. As guests this attitude made us feel unwelcome and like we were an inconvenience. In summary, this is a nice hotel in a beautiful setting and most staff are a pleasure to be around, but if you don't want your holiday at least partially spoiled and you want it to be stress free and relaxing as we did, pick somewhere else.
We stayed at Dimitra Beach for two weeks in one of their family suites with a sea view, which consisted of two bedrooms and a bathroom. We were in one of the un-refurbished apartments on the resort; however this did not bother us as we found it to be clean and adequate and had everything we required for our stay. Both bedrooms had air-conditioning, although we had one remote this was no problem. The maids came in daily to clean the apartment and provide fresh towels and make the beds up. We had a choice of three restaurants on site, most days we ate lunch at the Italian restaurant, which served as a snack bar during the day. We enjoyed eating here as it was close to both the pool and the beach and offered spectacular views of the Aegean Sea. In the mornings and evenings we ate at the main restaurant ‘Flavours’ which is a hot and cold buffet, that has many, many options to choose from, including vegan options. Most evenings we were looked after by Vicky one of the restaurants waitresses - we found her to be very friendly and upbeat and she always greeted us with a warm smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. In the evenings after our meal we enjoyed going for a few drinks in the main bar, where again the staff made us feel very welcome and special from day one, especially Panagiotis the bar manager and Michael who worked behind the outside area of the bar. There was entertainment each night which catered for different tastes, we thoroughly enjoyed Greek night (Wednesday) where we were able to participate and learn some of the Greek dance moves. The resort has three pools each with a children’s and a number of sunbeds around each, we frequented the pool nearest the Italian restaurant as it was the closest our room and had views over the sea, as well as allowing for easy access down onto the beach. Towels were provided for around the pool and on the beach, however, if you went later in the day you would find that they had all gone, luckily we did have our own towels which we used. Round the pool that we sat at a member of staff, Anastasia, from the bar would come round numerous times a day taking drinks orders from both all-inclusive and half-board guests. During our stay we didn’t have much to do with the reception staff, but on our brief interactions with them they seemed pleasant and helpful. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel to families, couples, friends, however elderly people need to bear in mind that there are steps to get to some of the rooms, although in the main building there are lifts. We hope to return to this lovely hotel in its beautiful location in the future.
Me and my wife stayed at the Dimitra Beach Resort Hotel for a week all inclusive, is a must. The views from the beach were beautiful only thing is the beach is very stony, need to take beach shoes next time. While on the beach the staff where excellent, any drink you needed they would get it for you. The main restaurant was excellent, the food was fantastic, the service from one of our waitresses namely Vicky was excellent, always greeted us with a beaming smile, which made our stay even better. In the evenings there was live entertainment every night, again waitresses were excellent especially Adela, who always remembered what we were drinking.
We recently returned from 10 nights at Dimitra Beach. The hotel was as good as it looked on their website with modern, clean rooms and excellent sea view. Choice and quality of food was very good and the standard of service in all 3 restaurants and the bar service was excellent, with staff being friendly and efficient across breakfast, lunch & dinner. Reception staff also excellent. Rooms were cleaned daily by friendly and efficient cleaners. The only areas of criticism are: storage in rooms is limited, particularly for 2 people for 10 days; towels for the beach need replacing as they were thin and threadbare in places (room towels excellent): wi-fi is slow and not very reliable; bars and restaurants need to find a way of discouraging wasps (e.g. citronella candles); entertainment is a personal taste, but a lot of the same cover versionsof 1970s/1980s songs - realise this may seem a long list, but all relatively minor, much outweighed by the positives. An excellent holiday in a modern hotel with great service.
If you want a well maintained place to stay with plenty of options to eat, pools to relax at, beach frontage and mini-club for the kids then you can't look past this hotel which has a sensational view of Turkey. Rooms are clean, White, well designed and have plenty of room with a nice deck to relax on if you want to spend some time away from other people. Every night there is difference entertainment at the bar. Thoroughly recommend staying here for a family holiday.
This is a genuine review, after seeing and reading the reviews on here we where apprehensive about our stay we actually can't believe people complain about this hotel we honestly can't find a fault with it, the staff was amazing and so friendly always going out of there way to say hello to you and make sure everything was ok nothing was ever to much trouble. The food was delicious a variety that suited everyone, the sun lounges and bed on the beach front where so comfortable and considering it was august we always managed to get a lounger no matter what time of day, and the staff couldn't be any better throughout the day making sure we always had a drink. And for the refurbished room this was just beyond amazing so clean and comfortable. We will 100% be returning we are already looking for next year and emailed for wedding quotes for the year after the views are just amazing dream wedding venue. Please don't read the reviews and let it put you off go experience it for yourself. Thankyou so much to dimitra beach hotel for the best holiday ever!!!
