Our first family holiday was not what I expected. We arrived and was shown to our apartment. The fridge wouldn't work it took 2 days to get a new one despite complaints. We had ants and a leak. The toilet mirror was hanging off. We had a 16 month old baby. When asked to change rooms it was not a problem at all. It was much better in fact. The food was more catered for adults nothing for kids. We paid for half board and ended up eating out every night which wasn't what we wanted to do. The hotel were only interested in their all inclusive guests. Kos itself is a lovely place however we won't be back!
We were in Atlantis hotel in the beginning of season and there was already animation team :) We like activity so it was good for us, they didn't play big shows in the night but generally they did their best all the time. In the beginning we changed room to be in main building and we were satisfied with this decision. Personel was very nice and helpful. Food was tasty and good quality. Hotel, rooms and the garden were clean. I liked especially the garden with lush green grass and nice flowers. Location was great. I don't like to be in city during holiday and I was a little afraid that hotel is to close to Kos but the area was calm enough :) and it was nice to go for a walk or take the bike and ride there. In the main building were tables for boarding games, 3 pool tables and downstairs also table tennis (for 5 euro). **Important** My advice is to take your own beach towels (if not, you need to pay for it). Overall I'm happy with the choice of the island and hotel. For me it was strong 3***.
This otherwise very nice hotel disappointed us on our immediate arrival at 10pm - one hour after the dining room closed. This happens to us quite often and if it's only 4 or 5 late arrivals you usually get a cold plate in your room, if there are a lot more then it's usual to leave a cold buffet in one corner of the dining room. So what was offered here? we were told sandwiches were available in the bar so we go along and ask the barman who goes out the back and reappears with two small clingfilm wrapped cheese & ham sandwiches, one each and nothing else. Taking into account we last ate four hours earlier on the plane we asked for two each but we were told only one per guest is allowed. We set off back to the reception only to find another dozen or so new arrivals in a queue so we had to abandon a complaint there and then. As we were on half board we were given a card which was to be presented on entering the dining room where it was ticked off for each meal you had and annoyingly the card was ticked for having one dinner on our arrival. Following a complaint the staff went to great lengths to sort it out for us and we were given a lunch in lieu of the lost dinner. The hotel staff including reception, and dining room and cleaners at this hotel cannot be faulted, all very friendly & helpful. 10/10 The dining room has problems with keeping food hot, other reviews have also pointed this out, twice my wife sat at the table with a plate of food and then had to use a conveniently placed microwave to heat it back up, if you like fruit for dessert rather than stodgy cakes & pastries etc then the bowls of various fruits such as Peaches,Pineapple, fruit cocktail etc that are present at Breakfast & lunch do not appear at dinner, only a bowl of chopped Apple. 6/10 The hotel is quite large with numerous bungalows & apartments in various parts of the extensive grounds, it was pleasant to find that loud music was not blaring from every corner as seems usual of late. Apart from initial problem we enjoyed our stay at the Atlantis hotel. 9/10
I think the most important thing to say is that on the flight back we were surrounded by people complains about the quality of food they had got on their all inclusive hotels, while we had nothing but compliments for the Atlantis. The quality, choice and presentation was all excellent, which was especially good for my wife and I as we are both vegetarians and can suffer from a lack of choices in many places, but I am pleased to say the Choices at the Atlantis, for every meal, were excellent. The location of the hotel is also very good, far enough from the town to be quite, but close enough to walk in and out of an evening, on a beautiful quite beach with a collection of beach bars within a few minutes stroll. The hotel itself is lovely, with well kept gardens and a collection of pools. The hotel, and our rooms, were always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble for them to sort out. If you are looking for an All Inclusive location in Kos, I would strongly recommend the Atlantis, there may be cheaper but I doubt there are any better value.
best hollidays had in years 2016 2017 nothing is too much trouble ,looked after like king n qeen looking foreward too 2018 to see all our friends again at this great hotel kos our second home from : ) & ( :
Hotel Atlantis is very well located in Kos island. A bit far from the noisy part of the city, you can rest in your room, , or you can stroll peacefully along the beach. Also, if you want, you can reach the city in minutes by bike or car. Taxi can charge you 8 euros for a one way trip. The rooms are big enough, well equipped and maintained and sound proof. The cleaning teams are doing their job in a good manner. Towels are changed on your request, just drop on the bathroom floor. But take into account the environmental consequences! Breakfast is good, but is necessary to improve the way you can have your coffee in the morning. Sometimes, long queue of coffee lovers are formed in front of coffee barrels! Yes, this hotel did not have coffee machines. They use some kind of coffee “barrels”. Coffee was good but a bit more freedom to chose your favorite coffee type, espresso, or café late, is desirable. Beach is long, wide, sandy, gentle wiped by the sea. Sea entrance is calm and water is clear. So, if you wish to have a quite holiday with option to reach the noisy area with pubs and restaurant, this is your place.
Very nice hotel, near Kos town with nice pools and a wonderful beach, many entertainments, Acquagym in the pool, renoved rooms with view in the park; many new constructions as new bungalows to rent; Nice reception, and paintings, terraces, and sculptures in the park. Large restaurant, food is good; many tourists and young people. staff is very friiendly; ideal Hotel to be near Kos town and a nice beach in Kos town.
Had a lovely stay in October. Weather was brilliant didn’t see a cloud all week. Bit windy at night time so needed a jacket to sit out. Service was excellent and food very good. Entertainment team worked very hard and were very friendly. Hotel was very clean throughout with rooms cleaned every day. Twenty minute walk into Kos town or €1.10 on bus if you buy tickets from hotel saves a Euro. Kos town was lovely shopping and restaurants everywhere with a lovely harbour. A few pubs/ restaurants next to hotel showing football etc . All very friendly. All in all had a great holiday and would certainly go back again. Went with Love Holidays and service was excellent all went perfectly.
We stayed here between the 19th - 30th October. We arrived around midnight and got checked in super quick by a very friendly member if staff. After checking in we were told about the complimentary sandwich and drink in the main bar as everything had closed for the day when we had arrived, so we took our cases up to our room which was 101, lovely sized room and our Sons had there own little room away from the main bedroom. Which was lovely at the end of the day when they were tired and we wanted to stay up and sit on the Balcony. We had no issues with the room apart from the lack of storage. They could really do with adding more drawers. We went down for our sandwich and drink only to be told that the drinks in the main bar are chargeable and not included in the All Inclusive deal, hmm!! Myself and my Husband had a stale ham and cheese sandwich with a glass of water while our Sons had the same stale sandwich and strange tasting juice. We went straight back up to the room as we were shattered. The next day we got woke up early with people slamming the room doors and talking really loud walking down the corridors, This happened everyday. Breakfast was ok, typical breakfast food bacon, sausage, eggs etc all very nice. Never had any issue with the breakfasts. We spent the first few days around the pool, which is lovely but very cold. We had lunch in the main restaurant on the first day and that is when we discovered that the food isn’t all that. My husband couldn’t find anything that took his fancy so he waited until we had finished and we went to the snack bar where he found they did Greek Kebabs. He absolutely loved them. We had lunch there everyday. Evening meals were very hit and miss, sometimes you’d find nice things to eat sometimes not. But we didn’t go hungry!! We walked in to the Town a few times, definitely worth a visit. The staff are very friendly and the entertainment staff were fab especially Alex and Ruddy. Who made the holiday for my 2 Sons. The evening entertainment was good, had a right laugh some evenings. The only think that ruined this holiday is the fact that the last 4 days everything had stopped or stopping. The snack bar only did the snack (which was the same everyday) the lunch there stopped, they stopped catering for children at the evening meal, I had to ask why there wasn’t anything cooked for kids as my youngest is 5, he wouldn’t eat what they had cooked for the adults. Got told that they had been told by management to not cater for children even though there must of been at least 10+ children still on site. From that day the restaurant manager cooked a little something for my son every evening which helped massively. There wasn’t any activities for my 5 year old even though they let him participate it was restricted, while my 12 year old had no problems at times the youngest wanted to do things too but couldn’t. Mosquitoes were a nightmare here I got bit about 15 times, drove me mad. And if you don’t like cats I wouldn’t stay here as there is loads at the hotel, all friendly but they are everywhere. The beach is lovely but you need those water shoes as it’s a Shelly beach. I’d go back to the hotel but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in October. It was obvious that they where getting ready to finish the season. If I had known what it was like out there when we went I wouldn’t of booked.
This was our first time in kos , arriving late at night we was offered a sandwich which was fine least we had eaten something before breakfast the next day. Our room was in the main hotel looking over the mountains on the 4th floor and could see kos town all lite up at night which was beautiful. The sunset from our room was to die for amazing ,,, The hotel offers 3 pools one of which for kids plenty of sun lounges for all and table and chairs around the pool and pool bar,,, I drink gin tonic but could not drink the gin with the tonic I was having it with lime & lemon which did taste much better . My mother in-law was on the vodka and we ended up going out and buying tonic water ,. Food was always something to be tempted by breakfast , lunch , and dinner, (hence I did put on weight haha and had a week to lose it to fit in my dress for my daughters wedding. ) we was given a free 15 min massage session which I did take up I had a face massage and I can say I could have easy fell asleep while having that. The entertainment day and night there was always something going off my husband had a dare to do the aqua/ Zumba ,, but Aphrodite did not have enough people to do this ,, so next time Aphrodite he will be doing this,,,, Alex was amazing him and my mother in-law enjoyed a right old good smooch on the dance floor ,,, well done to all the entertainment people right down to our room being cleaned daily , asked for more pillows and was there waiting for us Right on the beach ,, yeah have to pay €2 euro but it's your for the day and very nice cushion on em too. Yes we will come back here again thank you for a great holiday
