This place you just have to visit is so quiet and relaxing place One does not have long to travel around and experience the sites either by taxi or bus somewhere it's been, and take vacations at...........................
Firstly the price we paid for our stay was fairly low and therefore the review will reflect this and also the fact that this is not a 5* hotel Rooms: We paid for a superior room which was nicely decorated and practical. On the small side and a poor view of a car park. Bed was okay. Cleaning was excellent. New towels and bedding as required. There was noise from rubbish collections early in the morning which meant that we had to sleep with the patio doors closed. Nothing to do with the hotel but annoying. Staff : everyone and I mean everyone was so friendly and helpful. You expect reception staff to be amiable but the cleaners and gardener always smiled and said hello. Pool area: Reasonable sized pool with loads of sunbeds (no morning fight or towel reservation needed!) You can sit on the grass area under trees which is lovely. They also have a number of inflatables, big balls and bat/balls which are left in the pool for anyone to use. Maybe need a container to keep them all in to tidy up the pool area a little. Area: very useful supermarket across the road which has just about anything you may need. A 2 minute walk to the seafront. Beautiful views from there across to Turkey. Several restaurants within 5 minute walk. 15 -20 minute walk into Kos Town (or 7E taxi) Food: Only went B&B. As per previous reviews the breakfast was repetitive and limited selection. However coffee was good and could have toast and some fresh fruit. Also nice cake was available. Okay but nothing more. They could try varying some items just for a change. Also there are not enough cups which was really annoying. Staff were rushing around doing their best but this needs attention by management. The pool bar served the normal burger omelettes chips etc all at a sensible price. Overall if you can get this at a good price then you will not be disappointed. We had a great time but don't expect 5* facilities.
Stayed for two weeks in early September. Clean and reasonable size room. Really quiet and relaxing and nice how you can take a lounger and sit on the grass areas under the trees to get out of the sun. Staff really friendly and knowledgeable of the island. If spending a lot of time around the pool then buy your beers over the road form the shop at a fraction of the price otherwise the cost of your holiday could become expensive. Ice and beers in the bathroom sink is a good tip as not far to walk from your seat around the pool. Wouldn't normally resort to this but EUR 3.50-4.00 for a small beer doesn't take long to add up when you're there two weeks. Breakfast really is basic but puts something on your stomach for the day ahead I suppose although it surely wouldn't cost much to improve the selection (poor quality meats (3) and one choice of sliced cheese with toast and cereal, pears, melon and yogurt). Breakfast aside, would definitely stay again. Handy for Kos Town and the buses to other areas which are frequent and really reasonably priced. We were out and about at least every other day and found it really easy to do so on public transport. Beautiful Island and a nice quiet area with the town handy if you want something a bit more lively or more choice. Plenty of restaurants in the immediate area also.
We were moved to this hotel from the sister Alexandra Hotel in the town centre (see review) and were glad we did. A lovely white-washed building in beautiful grounds, a quiet pool and excellent staffing all made for an enjoyable stay. As we had a free upgrade we had few complaints. Due to issues with the Alexandra Hotel in the town we were moved here and the staff continually checked on us to make sure we were happy. We were! Good points: Nice quiet pool. Beautiful grounds. Acceptable pool bar with snacks available but I'd suggest a short walk away there are better lunch options. Superb staffing - they can't do enough for you - and lovely room with excellent room cleaning ladies. Poor points: My own bête noire: the twin beds pushed together to make a double - if I'm ever invited on Room 101 it's in! - I love the Greek people but don't they get on with their wives or something? PLEASE. Buy some COMFORTABLE double beds (I slept poorly all week). Similarly, although we got ours on a free upgrade, what is it with breakfast? I'm not asking for Full English but this is a country with beautiful natural fruit and herbs. Your local cheese is superb. Why on earth serve Kraft slices? Surely, it can't be to save money when the food is available locally? What makes this stranger is that the Alexandra boasts a huge under utilised breakfast room (there is no evening dinner available although, again, there's little point). Seems a waste of space for a toaster, coffee machines, bread and a few average ingredients. Sort out the beds and add a decent breakfast and this hotel could easily move up a star. Note: There are no toiletries here. Not even one of those refillable bottles on the wall. You'll need to bring your own or buy in the supermarket over the road.
Having returned to Kos for a 7 night break, the hotel was pleasant but unfortunately let down by the old and very hard single bed mattresses, which resulted in us never having a good nights sleep and aching throughout each day. We raised this and toppers were placed on each mattress but these were far too small and so felt like a camp bed, not conducive to a nice romantic holiday. This as well as the hair dryer blowing sparks and flames and the same very simple and boring breakfast served each day didn't leave us with the feeling that we would return to this hotel. The hotel is ideally situated and should anyone be considering staying here we would advise to take your own pool towel as they don't supply and recommend a room only and buying food from the excellent supermarket across the road.
We stayed here at the end of August and found pleasant helpful reception staff in a quiete road only minutes from the pebbly beach. It's a good 15 minute walk into Kos town but we hopped on buses up to the thermal springs, ate lovely lunches by cycling up to Agios Beach Club (on the way to the hot springs ) There are some really quaint traditional Tavernas beside the sea that served reasonable food a few minutes from the hotel . The Hotel is clean ,bright and has lovely gardens. The rooms in the Newly built wing are spaceous and modern . Breakfast was continental , simple but adequate. We would definitely stay again.
Very nice hotel. Nice staff, cleaning ladies do their work very good, and are so nice. good food (european style bufet - toasts, fruits, cheese, coffee/tea). Rooms are clean, bathroom small but also clean. Hotel is good situated - few stores nerby (open till late hours), beach few steps away, city of Kos about 20 minutes away.
After returning last night from a week at Alexandra Beach Hotel, it was a sombre morning of realisation waking up in my own bed today. I will undoubtedly be recommending this accommodation to friends in the future, and if I return to Kos again, there is nowhere else I would stay. On arrival, my friend and I were greeted by friendly reception staff and quickly shown our room - a reasonably sized room with an en-suite and balcony. The beds were comfy enough for a week's stay, and the open plan bedroom had an inlet kitchen complete with sink, kettle, fridge freezer an all necessary utensils, cutlery and crockery. The balcony faced out onto a field of goats with a view of the sea to the right. This was perfect for us as it meant that we had sun on the balcony until 8pm and privacy and tranquility. The first thing we noticed en route to our room was the beautiful pool area. We had had doubts about the reality of the hotel and worried photos may not be an accurate representation. We were thrilled to notice the hotel and pool area exceeded anything we could have imagined. The pool is beautifully calm and clean and there are plenty of sunbeds around its perimeter for all. It is large and was never too busy, despite us visiting in July. We opted for breakfast, which was continental style. Greek yoghurt with honey and fruit, a mixture of cereal, crusty bread, toast and spreads, a selection of meats and cheese, and watermelon. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed the breakfast, however for those wanting something heartier, perhaps this may be an issue. The breakfast was the same every day, but for the amazing price paid for the hotel, I was just delighted that it was one less meal to think about. The food from the bar around the pool was fine - you could pick up a baguette and chips, burgers, pizza, chicken nuggets, omelette etc. As a vegetarian who prefers to eat healthily, I was a little limited to a daily dosage of greek salad, but for others there is a reasonable selection, and there's a supermarket right opposite the hotel if nothing takes your fancy. You can rent a bike for 4euros a day (price decreases the longer you rent) from a nearby rental shop (about 100m down the road). I love to walk, so we walked to Kos Town most times - it took us around 20minutes - but we rented bikes one day which was a great way to see the rest of the island (there are many beautiful and lesser-known beaches if you have a pedal) and only took 5-10minutes to access Kos Town. The beach close to the hotel is fine - it has sunbeds and watersports and a few nice looking bars and restaurants. It is a lot calmer, however is a little rockier and the sea was seaweedy, so we preferred to walk further down to the beach closer to Kos Town. Kos is an amazing place with so much to do. We visited Erika's horse farm and took a ride along the beach one evening, took a day trip to Bodrum which is only 30mins away by boat (but about an hour to get through passport controls each side of the trip - beware!), visited Kos Town, cycled round the island, had an an obligatory night on the strip, and ate out at a range of amazing restaurants. On our final night, we ate at one of the best restaurants I have ever visited: Petrino. The atmosphere was amazing; candles, fairy lights, pergolas and plants in a secluded corner at the back of Kos Town. The food here was incredible and far exceeded anything we saw offered in other restaurants. It was a little more expensive, but you really got what you paid for, and the little extra complimentary touches made the it all worth it anyway. We were given a generous helping of complimentay rosemary baked bread and a beautiful spread that tasted somewhere between houmous, butter, and tapenade. At the end of the meal we had mentioned we were extremely full but if we were to have anything it would be the tiramisu, however we decided to leave it and asked for the bill. A couple of minutes later, the waiter arrived with a tiramisu on the house, which, of course, we made room for.
Been here four years in a row and will be back next year. Room are always clear pool is perfect and sunbeds for all. Staff are polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel totally. It's a bike ride into kos town but this is part of my holiday and a pleasure. Always want to buy a bike when I get home.
