Eco friendly facility built into the mountainside made this place truly special. The food at each restaurant was totally underwhelming and the cocktails were consistently bad.
I was disappointed in this property and checked out after 1 night instead of 3 as had originally planned. Orbitz lists this as a 5 star hotel, but there’s no way. It wasn’t clean. The beach was rocky and you have to climb through an area of boulders , jungle and then beach just to get to the village (or the soft sand area of the beach) . It wasn’t safe really in flip flops. Also the rooms - it’s a bedroom, then you have to go outdoors to the bathroom and the living room area. They’re in different structures. Which was uncomfortable at night and the privacy for the bathroom was lacking since it was open. The bedroom itself was so small it was difficult to open 2 suitcases. I did think all the woodwork was beautiful. You can find significantly better hotel options for the same price or less.
Very beautiful hotel the rooms are nice but to much insecta and lizards. Thay realy need to do same thing with that. Recomend room with privte pool
I have traveled all over the world and have stayed at hotels ranging from 3 to 5 star. I was disappointed with this resort being it was a 5 star and we spent a ton of money (especially compared to generally low prices in Thailand). PROS: we splurged for the highest room, sea view pool villa plus. view was amazing with private infinity pool overlooking the sea. The staff were generally helpful. CONS: resort needs updating, things are beginning to look run down. BEWARE the entire bathroom is OUTDOORS. I did not know this when booking and was not happy to find out. Who wants an outdoor bathroom in the middle of tropical forest where it is hot, humid and buggy? We had to deal with all kinds of creatures in our bathroom ranging from mosquitoes, swarms of ants, millipedes, and lizards. I refused to use the bathroom at night because of this. there were tons of bugs inside the room as well. When I got to my next destination and opened my luggage, it was infested with ants. Food was terrible. Im vegan, and they did not understand or have decent options. Even my husband who is not vegan thought the food was subpar. We walked over to the Anantara hotel where the food was 100x better. Resort needs more efficient management and staff. A lot of inexperienced staff, not acceptable for 5 star. Their private beach is terrible, extremely rocky. Need to walk to the public beach next door, so why even spend the premium to stay here if you need to leave the resort for a decent beach?
