This place was just a fabulous stay. Wow, what a surreal holiday home that I needed. The rooms are spacious and my very favorite thing is the huge baths in the rooms. Incredibly relaxing after a deep Thai massage or a long walk around town or a day at the beach. The pool in the complex is great. No real complaints at all actually, just some things to be aware of are as follows: - Watch your HEAD on the entrance! It is a little low for a tall guy like me. I hit my head several times coming in and out through the course of three days. -The location is a little up the hill but easy to get to from the main area. My wife and I rented a bike the first day, but biking is very dangerous on Koh Samui. I consider myself an experienced biker but the loop road around the island is just crazy with trucks. I didn't feel safe driving. It is so easy to walk down to the main town. It is like a 10 minute walk. Enjoy it. - The night market is a must do. Very cool. So much music and energy and street food happening. - Owner was incredibly helpful. He will arrange anything and everything for you. - Didn't really try the food here. So many options to eat at down by the water and around. The one time we did have breakfast, it was suitable. Nothing to write home about, but it was filling with several options. - My only complaint I might have about the stay was this talk of a free shuttle. Upon check-in, you are told about a free shuttle that leaves at these certain times. I didn't really see that happen nor any flexibility to a free shuttle. When we decided to go to one of the Thai fights one night we were offered a free ride by the owner to Chewnang but at the last minute he could not go and hired a driver that cost us 400. Not a big deal, really. Just prepare to be flexible on these things. I'm a hiker and I love to walk. This is not all a really big deal to me personally, but for other travelers, I can see how these complications might frustrate them. As they say in Thailand, you are on Thai time.... just let go and go with the flow with a smile. ;-) This place is so worth it! Book it!
I arrived a day later as I had problems with the flight. everything was perfect. People were kind and helpful. There were only two people who could understand a little English, but it did not bother me as everything went smoothly. Manager was really kind and seemed to be worrying a lot about my well being. Maybe it was because I was there alone. I did not expect much but I got a lot. I had problems with the air condisioning, but it was sorted out a day after. They even offered a room change. But I said no as it was not that big of a problem. Breakfast was great. They had lot to offer I tried mostly Thai food as I was in Thailand and to know the culture I need to eat the food too. It was like a small paradise on earth. The only thing what disturbed me a little was the bath as it was quite slippery to sit in it. Might me perfect for couples, but for me it was bit bad. Still. It was great. Loved how the pool was almost like a small river inside hotel. Nice swimming.
Fantastic hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and polite. The room was very spacious and cleaned daily. The hotel is 10 minute walk up a dark road from lamai beach centre but plenty of tuk tuks around. The highlight was definitely the pool which was stunning. Would definitely return.
We were very excited about the stay & while it is a stunning setting the rooms or suite needs some work. It's clear that it was finished to a very high standard but standards have slipped over the years. The bathroom was grubby, toilet didn't work, shower enclosure was removed, bathroom door was broken, shower tray didn't drain for hours etc. The staff were very friendly & helpful but don't be expecting regular hotel service. Breakfast was nice but was not without its dramas. The place had a real faulty towers feel but to be honest it kinda added to the charm of the place. Quiet location just a short walk to the town & the beach. Pool is amazing, just outside the door & it weaves through the garden with a lovely seating area with swings on one side. Very easy to get taxis to explore the island further or to get home late at night. We enjoyed our stay but the accommodation was not as stunning as we were expecting.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, make you feel like you are in your own home. On arrival we were a little disappointed as its not like the pictures or reviews. Very peaceful and green but needs a little TLC and it will be perfect .Had problems with toilet and toilet door.
We really liked this place. The price for pickup at the airport is about as much as with a taxi from the airport (which is also steep). We had a nice ride, with a experienced driver. The checkin was very good, quick, we got a drink. Very nice. The villa (one bedroom, one living room, and a very big bathroom with walkin shower and large bath (2 person)). Great airconditioning and a terrace (but a bit on display). The swimming pool is incredibaly beatifull! It ligers across the garden, is very creative in design. BUT is was not too clean (algae) when we were there for a week. We got to use the pool a few times, but i would have LOVED it if the pool would have been cleaner. They worked on it, but probably due to the free-form of the pool it is only more difficult. All in all: nice place, nice breakfast and great staff! The location is not the best, but quiet. would definately return
Gorgeous boutique hotel that is outside the main hustle of Lamai. The rooms are stunning and very comfortable and the gardens and pool are beautiful! It was very quiet when I went as it was the low season, but this just meant it was extra quiet and peaceful! The staff were all really lovely and were always happy to help you arrange things like transport etc. The wifi was a bit hit and miss but the manager did explain that is because they are upgrading so it should be better in future 😃 I would stay here again and recommend to others! Just be careful when you walk in the door... It's quite low and I hit my head a couple times.... Mostly coming back late at night 😂😂
This hotel is gorgeous and the staff tried really hard to please us during our stay and I really wanted to write an amazing view; however too much went wrong during our stay for that! The hotel is in a quiet spot and the rooms are a great size. If is a 15min walk to the beach and shops; however the peace and quiet and beauty of the place is worth it! We were welcomed by a clean and cold room with a bowl of fruit and all started well! Until our electrics blew on the first night and there was only a dirty room to out us in ( the bed linen, towels etc were clean) we unpacked on our new room just expecting it to be cleaned; however they decided to move us to a third room the next day! So we had 3 rooms in 2 days (we stayed for 5). The calamity continued on our 3rd day when the water in the room stopped entirely and meant we couldn't have a shower after a day at the beach until after we had been out for dinner. The air con in the final room (1) was also not as good as our first room. I have to say the hotel staff tried their hardest to put things right and apologise but I think offering a free meal for all the disruption wouldn't have gone a miss! The breakfast was lovely and the food we had was lovely! It was dissapointing though at dinner time that my husband chose prawns one night and duck another and was informed they didn't have them in. We ended up with chicken both nights and I do think the menu should reflect what they actually have.... Finally the manager arranged with a tour operator where we needed to be picked up to go to the pier. The manager told us he would try and get us there or arrange a taxi and for us not to worry. We didn't see him again and the staff were not able to tell us what was happening so we ended up walking 20 mind to the tour guide office to try and understand where we needed to get to ourselves! All this being said it's a lovely spot with an amazing pool and solo relaxing! We were just seriously unlucky here! I would Def go back here again :) x
Now on the way from the hotel to the pear with the wonderful owner of the place , he let us have late check out so we will go when his going, you won't find a better place in samui , the staff is so helpful and care a lot that you will have the best stay. The room is so so big and lovely have everything you need and everything so quite and beautiful. This is a place that gives value for the money. Loved the hotel can't wait to come back .
This independent hotel is a hidden gem within Lamai. When we arrived we were taken aback. We stayed in the Montra Suite which I'm sure like all the villas is very spacious with a fantastic view from the bedroom of the pool which runs alongside many of the villas. The staff at the Montra are absolutely fantastic, very welcoming, always happy and smiley. It's this level of professionalism, attentiveness along with the Manager making the effort to personally take the time to talk to us that makes the Montra that extra bit special. The Montra is located slightly further away from the beach and Lamai's main street but the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach. Breakfast is included which I recommend. Good choice of breakfast and attentive staff looking after you to make sure you have what you need. You can't visit the Montra without having a dip in the pool. While poolside order a few cocktails, sit back and relax.
