Stephanie was an incredible host! She gave fantastic advice on things to do in the area and had breakfast sandwiches prepared in the morning for a quick meal before I went on one of the great hikes she recommended. The place was spotless and perfect to relax and get work done. I highly recommend staying here if you travel to Kodiak. I will always book here after my first experience this weekend.
I could’ve stayed at a hotel in town, but the bed and breakfast was a much better idea. It’s close to everything with off street parking and a quiet atmosphere. If I get back to kodiak I’m sure to look up the cranky crow.
This B&B exceeded my expectations for the price. The setup worked well for me even though I was arriving late and leaving early each day. Hassle free, no glitches or unexpected situations. I felt right at home and well taken care of. I've been staying at different Kodiak hotels and B&Bs for 18 years and on my next trip I plan on booking here again.
The owner was so friendly and helpful. Gave perfect places to visit. The rooms were clean and the bed was heavenly. This place would be perfect for someone that wants home cooked food and is tired of the hotel life.
I just wrapped up my third stay at the Cranky Crow in Kodiak, and as usual, I left a happy customer. This time around, I stayed in one of the newly remodeled queen suites, outfitted with its own bathroom. Cable and wifi were included in room, and there is also a big living room with a massage chair where you can mingle with other guests and talk about the local experiences everyone is having. Breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches were available each of my 5 days there, as were some more traditional breakfast items like pancakes and cereal. Stephanie and Jon have a nice place there, very welcoming with a "home away from home" feel. In my opinion, a much better experience than staying at one of the local hotels. If I make it back to Kodiak, I will definitely be staying at the Cranky Crow again.
Out of all my stays on Kodiak, this was by far the best. The owner, Stefanie, is the BEST. She keeps her place clean and homey for your stay. The location was right down the road from downtown, making everything around accessible. I wouldn't choose anywhere else to stay but here!!
I stayed the Cranky Crow Bed & Breakfast for most of the month of June '17. Stephanie, the owner, was more than helpful with my extended time away from home. The different array of breakfast items were all delicious! She made sure that if you did not care for a particular dish to let her know and she would be more than happy to accommodate the next day with something of your liking. The facilities were always immaculate. There was plenty of local reading material to assist you with hikes, tours, fishing, etc. All in all I was extremely pleased with my stay and would highly recommend the Cranky Crow Bed & Breakfast to anyone visiting Kodiak!
Stephanie was very good about giving us a tour of the place, and her breakfasts were good; she prepared individual servings of breakfast food such as burritos and put them on the counter or in refrigerator for each guest, which worked well. She also was a life-saver when we had problems with our rental car. My only beef was the room. It was just off the kitchen so little privacy and it was very cramped, and we had to share a bathroom at the other end of the floor. I guess there are two larger (one or two with private bath) and the two smaller ones, but I did not know there was a choice and I do not know if they are all the same price.
We stayed at the Cranky Crow in mid-June and it was great! Stephanie is so kind and full of local knowledge. The space was comfortable and centrally located. Breakfasts were satisfying and the homemade cookies are necessary!
I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a comfortable stay to check out the Cranky Crow. The breakfast burrito was perfect and a great variety of coffee to go with it. The owner was very helpful over the phone before my trip and checked in on my arrival when the Ferry was running late.
