Our primary need was for a pet friendly motel. While the staff was friendly, the unit was very quit and the bed was comfortable this is very much a budget motel. There was no internet and the continental breakfast was almost nonexistent. Coffee, a few bagels and maybe some cereal. Set aside the 5 sherriffs vehicles responding to a domestic issue as we checked in. That was out of managements conttol but it did create some concern checking in.
Stayed here on our way to Myrtle Beach for one night. The staff was great, super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was average but for about $60.00 it was a good deal. The room was clean, a bit outdated but it served its purpose. The tall outside sign is blacked out.. makes the hotel look a bit shady. Didn't have the breakfast there wasn't many options. Would I stay here for a week; No. Would I do another one night stay; yes.
I requested a smoking room. I walked in and there was a grapefruit size burn hole in the bedspread. The bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a month. The room was very old and outdated and the bed was like sleeping on concrete! I had been driving for 10+ hours and was alone so I didn't say anything, though now I wish I would have! STAY AWAY!!!
If you give this a zero I would. The room was crappy. The sign that was up was covering the old hotel sign. The breakfast is called breakfast. And the icing on top was that when my wife went to use the hairdryer sparks flew out of the hairdryer and burned her on her arm and hand!
The non-smoking room wreaked of smoke. The front desk came and sprayed immediately but we did most of the work. We saw that other non-smoking rooms were smoked in so this is a reoccuring problem. It was not physically dirty but felt grimy and uncomfortable Also we did feel not safe there. Although advertised and given a username and password, there was no wifi. The back staircase closest to our room was in disrepair. The staff was very nice however.
There was holes in the sheets, cover, shower curtin... Half the lights did not work. Bathroom sink would not drain and it smelled of cigeratte smoke so bad it was horrible and I hated my kids had to stay in this room.
The no smoking room wreaked of smoke. I know there are idiots out there that don't follow the rules but how did housekeeping make up this room and not smell the odor and due something about it before it was rented back out ? The walkways are all stained with god knows what.
Rented a double Queen suite to allow some exercise room, as there is no exercise room at this property. During the week, several deficiencies were noted: 1. There is no electric outlet by the work desk so an extension cord had to be used across the room 2. There is no light near the desk to provide adequate lighting for working into the night 3. There is no room phone, so contacting the front desk meant a short walk 4. The wifi signal inside the room was 2 bars, but outside on the sidewalk, it was 5 bars 5. No flat screen TV as advertised on the website 6. On Tuesday night I found a live cockroach in one of the beds. I naturally slept in the other bed. 7. On several days the supply of clean towels was not adequate (no bath towels, or short 2 washcloths, or no bathmat) 8. On two days the trash was not removed from the room (no wonder there are roaches) I only stayed because my corporate card was charged up-front and refunds are a hassle. Please spend your money and time elsewhere.
Upon check in we were told that there are no clean towels available. May have them available soon. Then in the middle of the night 2 young girls tried to come into my room. Luckily the door stop was also engaged. Spoke with the front desk and they said , sorry we mistakingly gave someone your room and a key to it. At 4:30 in the morning!! They made a mistake. Yeah right.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Heather was the front desk agent and was the most rude person I have Ever Ever Ever dealt with. I was so embarrassed for her. My husband got 3 rooms for 3 nights and paid up front cash and his group decided to check out 1 day early. When he went to the desk Heather absolutely refused to reimburse him for the night that the 3 rooms we not staying because he paid cash. She refused to call her manager because she said her manager was at home dealing with "her kids". My husband was screwed out of $160 dollars and all his gas money to get back home to Georgia. I have been working at a hotel for years and never had this type of service. I am now going to call corporate.
