I am leaving from room 230 and highly irrirated. When we arrived to what we expected to be a non smoking room, we noticed a terrible smell, because it was a smoking room. The sheets and blankets have rough cigarette holes all over them, and they arent subtle, the carpet was sticky, when my husband got into the bed he complained of itching and upon further inspection the room had fleas and a few small seed ticks from where someone brought a pet in. We were horrified and alerted front desk, who wouldn't pick up the phone our ENTIRE STAY unless we dialed from our cell. When my husband went down there we were told they would call us with another room. Never happened. So we let that go and then when we went to take a shower guess what? Only one towel, so he calls to no avail and goes down there , the lady said the hotel was out and that someone from another hotel was driving over with some. Never happened. We asked for the hotel manager 4 times and was told every time she wasnt there. This all could have been forgiven if I had not got up in the middle of the night and stepped on a big fat cockroach. I actually made a point to save it considering we were lied to and told the hotel manager would be in today but that wasn't the case apparently. So we spent our hard earned money on this dump and don't get to shower, get bit by fleas, have to worry about what else we aren't seeing that must be filthy, and to put the cherry on top whomever was answering the phone this morning was extremely RUDE, and had the nerve to tell him after explaining the situation that we should have came down sooner ?!*!? How about do your job you rude old bag. I paid for a clean room with basic ammenitys and that is NOT whaaat we got. CANCEL YOUR RESERVATIONS HERE IF YOU WANT A NICE TRIP. TERRIBLE ROOM, TERRIBLE ATTITUDES.
Tired and ready to get off the highway. We had a truck and trailer and the Econo Lodge looked like it was easy access and parking with what we were hauling. I wasn't concerned about the cost of the hotel but was pleased to find it was only $65 for the night. The front desk clerk was wonderful! He was very polite and efficient. The room was horrific! Hmmmm....let me provide a list: - It smelled of stale cigarette smoke and sweat. (we had a non smoking room by the way) - The picture above one of the beds was missing and only nails and hangers were showing - The TV was from the 80's (but it did work) - The sheets were paper thin and heavily stained by some unknown substance - The tub drain was in pieces and laying on the side of the tub - The bathroom had mold in the corners - The wallpaper was very discolored (probably from those non smokers) It would have been easier to list what was good! Oh, I did that - the front desk clerk! This is not a recommended stay if you want something clean and fresh!
This motel is located about 9 miles from downtown Knoxville. The only thing nearby is Waffle House (next door), a few fast food chains and a host of gas stations with repair shops catering to truck drivers (no Walmart, Target or CVS remotely close.) The room left some things to be desired, shower curtain had a rip, wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, very dirty box springs were covered with bed skirts. The motel had many rooms available but they chose to put us at toward the back of the motel where there are permanent residents with shoes and a bbq lining the walkway. After taking a drive to see downtown, we returned about 11pm on a Wednesday night to the strong smell of marijuana. I personally don't appreciate the interior of my car or my belongings absorbing the smell. The pool formerly referred to as a swamp by another reviewer was cloudy but functional on 7/19/2017. We did not have the complimentary breakfast as there were no fruit or egg options. Cereal, biscuits and gravy, a few bagels and I think a waffle iron was available. When we exited from the lobby to walk to the Waffle House, we were greeted by a waft of cigarette smoke by a housekeeper who considerately decided to smoke within 3 feet of the entrance. The only decent items during our stay was the wifi and a very pleasant counter clerk who I believe was named Matt.
Its was very nice stay, nice people, nice breakfast. good locations right on interstate. easy go in and out. some local restaurant. i love choice hotel thats why i choose this one. cheap price and nice quality.
While the price for a night's stay at this hotel was very reasonable ($70 range), the room was worn and tired, with the tub in the bathroom almost dirty-looking, having a broken stopper and grayish surfaces. We were told the breakfast was "excellent" by the check-in clerk, but it was the usual biscuits and gravy, one waffle iron (too many people there to make using this practical), and light on the fruit offerings. Would not stay here again.
I couldnt believe the state of our room. It was dirty, with many items falling apart. I have previously been pleased with Econo Lodge in other locations, but not this time. Please see the pictures which show a curtain pinned up with huge safety pins, a heater/air conditioner nearly falling off the wall, a night stand falling apart, and general dirty condition on info book, phone, and radio. And our door lock both the lock and chain looked like it had been broken several times. Definitely not secure. Our schedule was so tight that we arrived late and left early so we didn't have time to ask for a different room, but imagine there's not much difference. We wont be back.
I just want to say that my husband and I have been a guest at the Econo Lodge on Strawplains Pike for awhile and we absolutely love it there. Cheryl, Rebecca, and Brandon are the best Econo has ever seen by far or at least that's our opinion. I have never felt so welcome and such kindness as I do there. Thank you guys for being such wonderful and outstanding people. Y'all are GREAT!!!
But our room was updated and clean. This is not a luxury hotel, but well suited for travelers who want a night's sleep without paying a lot. It's located just off the highway, but there are only fast food places to eat at this exit. There are more choices to eat at exit 8, four miles north where we went to eat. Lounge, lobby and breakfast room were also recently remodeled.
The most disgusting hotel I have ever encountered. It was so bad we could not stay. The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room; however, the smell of smoke almost knocked you out when you opened the door and there were cigarette burns on the mattress. The mattress was so disgusting we didn't even want to get close to it, much less sit or God forbid sleep on it. The sheets had holes and debris of some sort - I really don't want to know the exact content of the debris. There was urine behind the seat on the toilet. The door appeared to have been kicked-in, because the deadbolt was no longer secured to the door frame and door; therefore, you could not lock your door. The entire room (and probably entire hotel) needs to be gutted and burned. I believe the health department needs to step in and close this place until it is no longer a health hazard.
We had a nice early check-in at this very plain motel. The receptionist gave us a lot of tips. And he was amazed at the great rate we got on Hotels.com. We could even park right in front of our room. Then we opened the door to our room and stepped back into the sixties. Smelly and plain, old fashioned décor (the beds had headboards with what looked like grease stains from people’s heads on them), a very basic bathroom, electric outlets out of sync with furniture (no outlet near the desk), and a primitive HVAC system that only cooled. The fridge was beat-up and in the morning we found a live roach living in it with our food. Later as we were packing up another roach was scurrying around the room. When we reported this to the front office at checkout they were nonchalant. If this sounds like your kind of place, go for it!
