This hotel is a bit dated and the open layout is a bit weird, but it was very clean, comfy and friendly when I stayed one night for business. I had a bit of free time and was also able to take a quick walk around the center of town, which is very easy from this hotel. Breakfast was elaborate and very good. Solid choice if you find yourself in Fulda.
I booked this pretty last minute via booking.com. Checkin was quick and easy. The staff speaking good English which was very helpful as my German is worse than useless. All the rooms appear to be in a modern(ish) quadrangle looking onto a large space lounge area. The room was clean tidy, well equipped, if a tad dated. There was a beautiful garden with flowers all out well tended with a fountain in front of the old part of the hotel. Breakfast is also served in a beautiful room and plenty of choice. All buffet which was a little expensive I thought, at €18 especially if you just want a coffee juice and croissant. The bar is a cosy snug type bar great service and very friendly barman. Thank you. The food in the bar, which is the same menu as the restaurant, I thought was very good. The railway station is nearby by, I would leave 15 mins if going by taxi for a train. The recommended 5 mins was not enough. Overall: Nice hotel, staff very helpful and talkative, a little pricey but comfortable room and good food.
We stayed at the Maritim for a Wedding celebration. First of all the location is really quite breath taking. The food was also rather exceptional. However, the hotel is a little dated. Although the rooms have been modernized some of the décor take you back to the seventies. It’s not barrier free either so be aware of that. Access to the garage and park would be a problem. However, the atmosphere in the dining hall and down below in the catacombs are quite something and well worth a visit. But why you can’t get a cup of coffee after midnight is beyond me.
Good Hotel. Beautiful park and excellent location opposite the Park and Dom. Historic k building oozing history. Unfortunately staff had no real feeling of hospitality. All well rehearsed greetings and functions. No personality.
What an amazing position for a hotel. We spent one night here, had dinner in the restaurant the Dianakeller which in itself was an experience in history. Quiet position, close to the town centre where the room was good and the bed was comfortable. Lucky we always carry our own pillows, anywhere in the world as the pillows here would have to rate as the worst I have ever felt. An almost empty pillow case with about 6 feathers in each. Would not have slept at all on those and would have ruined my night. Breakfast in the Orangerie was the most delightful setting I have eaten in for a long while.
This place has really nice surroundings since it is neighbor with the castle garden. The service at the hotel was really good but the rooms are beginning to be a bit dated. The beds were good and we did have a good nights sleep.
The fact that the breakfast room of the hotel is the former "Orangerie" of the old Schloß next door is already a sign that this is a classy place. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff at the reception took time to be helpful, the breakfast was wonderful and even the pool (small but perfectly formed) was a treat. The restaurant (downstairs in the cellars) was beautifully decorated, and I was impressed by the food. This level of comfort doesn't come cheap, but I felt that it was good value for money. The location is great as a basis for sight-seeing too, the Schloß being next door and the cathedral opposite. I recommend the place.
Very friendly staff, a beautiful hotel & fabulous location. Great food and service in the restaurant too! Our room was very nice, and I loved that the window could be fully opened. The linen was high grade, but the mattress wasn't the most comfortable, plus the feather down pillows were so lacking in substance they were flat as a tack. Housekeeping were prompt to bring more pillows, but they weren't any better. It would be nice to have a choice of different types of pillows.
good location for the centre of Fulda. The buildings architecture is beautiful as is the breakfast room. Gardens are also very nice. Staff are friendly and provide good service, especially Suzzane in the resturant.
i should have paid more attention to the reviews .... but this was a last minute booking ,,,,, oh dear .... extremely expensive room in a hotel that although presented nicely is straight from the 70s ... including the TV. $45 AUD to park in their car park .... i dont know how this is warranted since Fulda is a small town and the hotel is not right in the business area. Desk Staff were a bit 'special'. The wi-fi was nonexistent despite assurances at check-in that 'of course it was available' . The interesting historical rooms you might see in the photos is a conference centre next door, the hotel itself is 70s-80s design. Only positive ... nice sights on the easy walk into town from this hotel.
