I evacuated here for Hurricane Harvey. I've seen the pictures and read the previous reviews but my experience was different. From the moment I arrived, the staff was great. The place was fully booked and the front desk was getting call after call from people seeking vacancy. Everyone at the front desk handled it well and seemed to treat the guests kindly. Our room was clean and tidy. Regarding the hole you see in some sheets in a previous review, keep in mind this partially a "smoking" hotel. The service workers who change the sheets might miss an ash hole every once in a while. This is also a pet friendly hotel! We saw many dogs during our stay and there was plenty of grass around where you could walk them to. There was no evidence of there being a dog in our room either. As mentioned, the room was very clean and tidy. One minor comment we had was that we had a connecting door to the room next to us and we think it might have been a room where you are allowed to smoke because there was an odor by that door next to the sink. Other than that, we would stay there again. Thank you to all of the staff that assisted us during Hurricane Harvey! The four ladies, three who worked 08/25 in the afternoon/night, one that worked 08/26 afternoon, and the gentleman who helped me out with booking/unhooking my second night.

Cleanliness and appearance of room is not what is depicted on the booking site as 2.5 stars. This is more of a 1-15..... Stains on walls and cigarette burns on bedding in a non-smoking room. I forgot to take a picture of the dead flies on the AC unit in the room.

We stayed here for a week and i feel some of the reviews are unfair. Breakfast had a variety of cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, waffles and a member of staff was present so nothing ran out. Room was ok, housekeeping everyday and all staff were friendly.

I have mixed reviews about this hotel. The night staff was not very knowledgeable about their security leaving us to believe there was none and to stay put in our rooms and lock our doors when there was a mischievous person outside the door of my friend's room. In fact I called and recommend that the police be called and all she said was she would call the manager and would call me back. When she called back she just had a recording of a forwarded call to the police dept for me. So all night myself and the friend had a very sleepless night worried that the neighborhood was bad as the person at the front desk didn't make us feel very comfortable. If I could have I would have packed up and left to go to another hotel. It later turned out the manager was called and the police but no one told us until we found out the next morning. The hotel's room had very old carpeting in it that was obviously worn and torn as you walked in. Not the best Quality Inn as we stayed in the best one in Carrizo Springs the night before. In fact I think it cost us more to stay at this one then it did in Carrizo Springs. The manager did compensate myself and my friend by giving us 10% off our room but that didn't really take care of a sleepless night when we had a long ride the next day. But we took it and felt that was very generous. I did recommend them not to let the girl who worked that night work at night or they better educate her. AND, the smoke detector is dangling from the ceiling. Check out the photo. I told the front desk and she said she'd tell the manager. Anytime I told her something she'd tell the manager. Manager is very nice by the way.

This hotel is run down, the breakfast is terrible, the internet is difficult/impossible to use. The staff was very nice, as helpful as possible, but they cannot overcome the lack of maintenance. I found the bed to be uncomfortable. The heater stunk up the room when I turned it on.

Not bad if you need, a bed, hot water, and air conditioning for a night. Honestly, the price point could be a lot cheaper for what's offered. I did notice that they may have a roach infestation. I saw several little roaches around the room which usually indicates a bigger problem. Overall, not bad or good.

This was our 4th stay at the Quality Inn in Kingsville. The first two times we had large, spacious upstairs rooms, the last two times we have had rooms downstairs. The rooms are small, dark and seriously in need of some TLC. The carpet was very worn, numerous holes in the walls from where they had moved hooks, etc., the light over the sink was too dim to even put on make-up with, no comfortable chairs in the room, and the breakfast items have not changed in 6 years! The price was good but the next time we visit our family in Kingsville we will pay a little more for a nicer room.

On the 1st night we stayed there was a roach in the refrigerator when i went to put our food up, then later one crawled cross the desk, needless to say this made for a sleepless night. Day 2 we were gone most of the day but when we got back that night and showered my Granddaughter was laying on the bed and a roach crawled up her arm. That was is for us, we packed up at 1045 at night and headed home. I gave the keys to the front desk and explained what happened and was simply told sorry for the inconvenience, ya think....

Our one might stay was comfortable but not luxurious. The facility is old and needed some repairs but we had nothing that was bothersome. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was the usual cereal, pastries, eggs, sausage, waffles, juices and coffee. The girl in the breakfast room was very accommodating when the items were gone and it was near time to close.

The only reason to be stopping at these places is that you ran out of time driving. Well that's exactly what happened. It's close to the freeway access which is a good thing if you have to make a fast getaway. The place looked it's age and the room did not look inviting with the bars on the windows. Everything inside was basic, not bad but not good either. I would say the good part about this place is that there was a tasty barbecue restaurant across the road.
