This hotel is in the middle of remodeling(seems to be the case everywhere). A/C problems with first room A/C problems with second room until maintenance man came into room & adjusted. I think the A/C room units need to be replaced(out-dated). Parked a Tour bus as per desk clerk. Later asked to move it for another Big truck. I thought first come first served rule applied. Evidently I was wrong. My group had 30 plus paying customers, he was only one, hmmmm.
Loved the area and the rooms are soo nice. Very quite and friendly service. Will definitely stay there again and would recommend to anyone. The price was great for the room and services. Breakfast is also a plus.
I made a reservation through Choice Hotels about 2 weeks ago. It was for a room with 2 queen beds for myself, my wife & my 17 year old son. When we arrived at 11:15 pm the Indian desk clerk said they had changed my reservation to 1 bed. I told him we needed 2 like the confirmation said. He said he had no other rooms & would not try to find one at another local hotel & they had no roll away beds. I had him call the manager who did at least make him give us a roll away for my 6' 4" tall son. This was not right giving away our confirmed room to someone else. We called choice hotels who said they could only get us a room in Edinburg, tx which was a long way away & in the opposite direction we were going. Our room was old, shower & shower curtain stained, rust on towel rack, & I could go on but this place is not worth the time. STAY AWAY!!!!!
According to the latest figures from the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (A.A.H.O.A.), slightly more than 50 percent of all motels in the United States are now owned by people of Indian origin. Pull off any Interstate highway and look for a cheap bed for the night and there is a good chance that the motel you will curl up in belongs to Indians. If you bear in mind that Indians constitute less than 1 percent of America's population, the conquest of this economic niche appears extraordinary. Regardless of the origin of ownership, we are still in the U.S. ... NOT a third world country yet. It is nice to have napkins available for the advertised provided breakfast, and a little warmth to what they call "scrambled eggs" and/or the artificial "meat substitute" that was supposed to resemble link sausages. Just because you manage to be the purveyor of a motel establishment; and as such, believe you can charge what other chains charge for a night's stay, does NOT in any way exempt you from maintaining said establishment. A few annoying observations during a THANKFULLY brief overnight stay while traveling through: the room key had to be swiped repeatedly and the door forced open with a kick of the foot and the hip, while holding your mouth and the door handle just right each time you wanted in your room. Very poor quality wi-fi, sub-standard small appliances. Extremely poor breakfast area, coffee, etc. This place does "Choice Hotel properties NO favors. The shampoos, conditioners, lotions provided in the rooms for guests use are not to be reused or left from prior guests...each guest pays to stay there. A guest has the right to expect the room to be CLEAN. The shower curtain is a hazard and could cause you to trip in the shower due to its length, which was at least four inches too long and seemed, again, unsanitary draped inside the tub/shower combo. The water pressure was, however, good. At one time, my family was in the business. I realize that older properties have a unique set of problems. There is no excuse, however, for being cheap, dishonest, and/or lazy about the proper way to stock, clean, and provide for guests. Do yourself a favor and try someplace else. Are you a Choice member? Love this place. We were just in and out for a fishing trip. The place is clean and very well taken care of. The inside is welcoming and the I wish I could remember the guy's name that checked me in but he was very friendly and very helpful. Always had a smile and always willing to help. I would like to also thank the Manager for allowing us to check out late the next day. After a full day of fishing we needed to take a quick shower as we didn't want the car trip home to smell like fish. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We stayed in the suite, which is a room connected to another room that has a sofa bed and full fridge with a nice counter.
This hotel was only acceptable because we spent most of our time away from the hotel. It's obviously an older property evidenced by the sloppy workmanship in the bathroom. The carpet had that gooey feel like something coated it, like the shampoo hadn't gotten completely out. The AC did not work well and the level of humidity was so high that our clothes felt wet in the morning. We will pay a little bit more for better quality next time.
I stayed there for 2 night it wasn't good hotel the AC was bad not very clean and the breakfast until 9:30am but if u get there at 9 you're not going to find breakfast and the fruit on the breakfast buffet is old
I have been in this hotel three times. In all cases I have bad experiences. The rooms are not cleaned properly, it is possible to find debris of previous customers. The last time I went to Comfort Inn in Kingsville, TX, 10 minutes after my check in I found food leftovers below the desk ( rice and chips -housekeeping didn’t pass the vacuum machine!!!). I called for housekeeping, but all the staff was out, only one person was working the front desk attendant. So the left overs were there until the next day. In my previous experience, the cleaning and poor maintenance were always the problem: microwave and refrigerator dirty inside; the shower drains are semi-clogged and there is mold between tiles and human hairs of previous customers. The internet is intermittent, you need to login frequently (every 2 hours approx.), and the signal strength is not good at the end of the halls. I strongly recommend looking for other options before selecting this hotel. By the way, I already cancelled my reservation for next week. I hope this review helps you!
This is one of the best in Kingsville. It costs more, but it is clean and noise free. The staff is nice and the breakfast is good. Some of the hotels in this town are dumps. This one is not like the rest. It's also very close to good restaurants and WalMart. It's located right by the highway in a safe part of town.
One should not expect anything exceptional here, but my stay was comfortable, I rested well, the internet worked, and the breakfast area was more than adequate. I was told by others that the hotel was recently renovated, but my bathroom tub needed maintenance (dripping faucet and corroded drain). But it didn't keep me awake or otherwise inconvenience me. I would be comfortable staying there again. I should add that the hotel staff was friendly, professional, and efficient.
