Kamaole Beach Royale

The rooms in this facility are very poorly maintained, from filthy floors, missing tile grout, loose tiles, dirty windows, badly worn carpeting, and wall papering coming undone. There are no elevators, no airconditioning, and no source of information for local facilities and attractions.

The floor in the unit left your feet black and gritty. Even after I mopped it with vinegar and water and swept every day, it remained an issue. The unit had two beach chairs and beach umbrellas and a small cooler which we used. The office was not always opened on time as indicated on the office sign. The location of the resort is excellent with the ocean across the street, and restaurants and shops nearby.

We extended our visit this year to three weeks, and it was the best holiday in Maui. Knowing the KBR, from many past visits, having the 6th floor condo certainly added to our time there. The lanai was wonderful to watch the ocean and beach actives during the day, and the beautiful sunsets every evening. Vince and Rose were on their holiday, so we missed them. The condos are well appointed, the building is aging very gracefully. The units that we have stayed in over the years, have all been very acceptable. There is ample parking on the premise. The location allows for walking to many amenities. There is a lovely pool and area, as well as a roof top kitchen area for barbecuing, and eating outdoors. Almost “heaven on Maui”.

Kama ole beach club is in need of major restoration Rooms are kept but dirty Non stick pans were so bad that I wouldn’t cook on them for my worst enemy They charge over 100 dollars extra for a portable air conditioner that couldn’t even cool the downstairs The only great thing was the proximity to the beach You really can’t get any better than that

Nice location and grounds, pool and outside well maintained. Inside needs updating and furniture needs replacing. Most units have ocean view, but when you exchange through RCI you get stuck in a unit with view of gas station and ABC store. They evidently only give owners the ocean view units.

We advised the resort staff via telephone call and email ahead of time that we would be checking in late Saturday night, Oct 6th 2018 at 10pm. We received not response back although we left a cellphone number. We went to the resort office anyhow and found them closed. There was no way to obtain our room key via any lockbox or even the room number we were assigned. The sign in the office window said they would be closed the entire weekend. We were forced to either sleep on the street or find another hotel. We found another room at 11pm at the Maui Beach Hotel at $369.00 for one night. The next day we were called back by the Kamole Beach Hotel staff and given the room number and passcode for the lockbox. We went to the resort and found the room to be over 90 degrees and no AC. The floor fans were ineffective and noisy. We tried staying one night but could not stand the heat. My wife was crying at that point. We went down to the Maui Banyon hotel were we stayed in 2017 through RCI exchange. We paid $1200.00 for 5 days and found it very nice. I went to the Kamaole Beach Resort office Monday morning and was told by the women in the office that their phones were not working I asked them what would happen if they had a fire in the hotel? No contact with any staff member was available for after hours check in for the entire weekend. This is unacceptable. Do not plan a trip using this hotel. We would like the resort to pay us back for some of the money we had to spend to find acceptable accomodations. As of this night nothing has happened. David & Carole Shaver

The beach across the street is great, the pool is nice but gets very little air movement because it is on the back side surrounded by buildings or large shrubbery. The unit has a nice kitchen and well supplied if you can stand to be in it due to the heat. The two bedrooms upstairs went unused because it was unbearably hot so we ended up sleeping downstairs on a very uncomfortable sofa bed. The A/C brings up another point it says it is optional but we were not given an option. Not sure what all we were charged with since we weren't given an explanation but there was a charge we had to pay at check-in.

This resort is not what you’d expect from the ratings. It’s not a 4 star resort. They have done some upgrades but not everything has been upgraded. The portable a/c units don’t provide enough cooling for the upstairs unit. We were there in September and the heat was too much. The condos are well equipped with beach chairs towels and snorkel equipment. Kitchen was upgraded and well equipped. Staff is friendly and helpful however when office is closed the staff does not respond to phone calls or email. The picture that shows the buildings being on the beach is deceptive because the beach is across the street and the street has lots of traffic.

good unit but no ac if there is no breeze it does get muggy located across one of the better beaches and close to shopping. the pool was a nice change if you are getting tired of sand unit was updated but only one tv

Great location and good condo. It had one “room” air conditioning unit in the living room but it was completely inadequate. There were no trade winds and we cooked at night. There were little ants in the cupboards and under the sink. Small but nice pool. Three nice barbecues with tables. We had trouble getting the key code on check-in day.
