I travel often and very disappointed at IBIS. The hotel itself is a mediocre 2 or 3 star hotel. the room was ok. I asked the young lady at front desk (i think yulia is name) in morning to check out at 13.00 instead of 12.00. Although hotel was relatively empty i was told very unpoilitely that i would need to pay a FULL DAY extra for a 1 pm checkout. i asked to speak ot manager and and was told manager is not there (obviousy a lie). No interest in accomodating customers so i and my colleagues will not be back there ever.

Ibis City Center is a clean and modern property in Central Kyiv. Staff speak English, Ukrainian, and Russian. They pride themselves on providing top level customer service and progressive politics (e.g. a large sign in the lobby by the elevator explaining their stance against sex tourism involving minors and the training their staff have received.) DO order breakfast with your room for a few dollars extra. The restaurant and bar on the second floor offers a very beautiful variety of freshly prepared breakfast fare -- there must be about 30 different types of artesan bread alone, along with fresh eggs, cheese and meats selection, a variety of juices, and a self-service espresso machine. They offer lunch, dinner, and snacks on their menu and they are uniformly good. This place is a bargain and also clean and modern. The rooms are new, small, efficient with lots of wood surfaces. About the only compromises are the rooms are small -- think NYC hotel size -- with a tiny 19" TV (which does include channels in Ukrainian, English, Russian, French, and Polish.) Not surprisingly, a lot of the guests are English speakers. Definitely worth it if you're not going for a 5 star hotel as 3 times the price!

Nice hotel, fast check in, good location, helpful and friendly staff. It is your generic Ibis hotel and I suppose if you could find a fault it is that ii is like every other Ibis Hotel all over the world. This is a strength too. Depends on what you are looking for.
Friendly staff. Decent or very good restaurant. Not much more than a 15 minute walk to the Golden Gate and St. Sophia's Cathedral. Taxi rates, if organized by Hotel Ibis, to and from the airport are quite reasonable. Overall very pleasant stay.
