Stayed here for a week. Would definitely stay here again. Reasonably good location, though a closer metro station would've been nice. The hotel itself was very nice. Room itself - no complaints at all. Fast in room wifi for free. Restaurant/24hr room service offered great meals for very reasonable prices. Staff were fantastic - servers, reception desk all helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone or to stay here again in the future.
This was my second visit to Kiev and the Vozdvyzhensky (July 8-21), after spending 6 nights there in September 2015. I had been planning a second trip to the city, basically since returning from the first; and I chose my exact dates in part to correspond to the Vozdvyzhensky's availability. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The staff, location, room, and food.....all contribute to making it one of the best places I have ever stayed. The Restaurant has a breakfast buffet, but do not miss having dinner there, where I had simply wonderful food. (Appetizers, main course, dessert.) The magnificent terraces in the back , off the restaurant area, are available at least for breakfast (maybe dinner.....I did not check), and for just sitting. Perfect place for morning planning and e-mailing. The location itself, part way down Andrew's Descent from the Church, is one of my favorite and most stunning spots in Europe: especially at night when there are often solo musicians along the Descent (always respecting each other's space.) Twilight there is magical. The Hotel's location, makes it a perfect spot for going up to some of the City's major points of interest (Sts. Sophia, Michael, Andrew, Maidan, the Opera House, national and art museums), or for a walk down to Podol, the old merchant (and residential) area beside the River, which I could explore endlessly.
This is a relatively small, fully renovated hotel. Its not similar to the standard "American style" hotels. Every room is slightly different as furniture is a collection of beautiful old desks, chairs, wardrobes. There a clear touch of the owner. Its very clean, every request is answered. Breakfast is great. You may dine inside or on the terrace. Afternoon tea and cake is a must also (free). It's located to the side of Andreievsky st. A very charming region between Podil and the upper district. Highly recommended. Note that taxi may have issue to reach the place, the back street may be jammed sometimes. But you can alway walk up or down the street to catch one. Public transport is in Kontractova square in Podil or up-street near the church. Older visitors should note that Andreievsky street is a pebble road, its not easy if rainy or frozen.
the hotel is lovely, super clean and beautiful, a great location (althogh on a steap hill, but that's hard to avoid in Kiev), a great breakfast, and the staff is great. I can't find anything bad to say, I had a great stay
I stayed in this hotel for three days for Eurovision semifinals. Hotel is situated in the heart of the old city. The area is very quiet and nice. You can walk to the main sightseeing's in 10 minutes. Hotel offers a very nice breakfast from 8AM to 11AM. Service is great, They offer teatimes in the evening and some in room treats. Hotel room was a little bit small but it is totally acceptable in the city center. Fitness center is tiny so don't make plans to work out in the Gym.
I stayed there for two nights on a business trip to Kiew. The room was pretty dark but it's okay. The beds are nothing special. Bathroom is small, but good. The breakfast buffet is nice and the personell is friendly and remembered me and my order from the first morning.
This small Lovely place, with amazing kind, friendly and helpful staff, is a place to recommend to all travellers how goes to Kiev, the rooms are beautiful, clean, well organized, good English speakers and a service over the top..... Please don't miss it
My friend and I stayed here for just one night and were very impressed by the staff, rooms and especially the breakfast. The hotel is located very close to St. Andrews Church in the upper part of the city. The rooms are up and down and around corners which gives the place a quaint feel. The bathrooms are brand new and rooms are tastefully appointed. We would have loved to stay longer but had to leave the next day for our ski trip to Bukovel. Great place for a romantic weekend away.
I would have been happy with my stay here just based on how charming the facilities are. What made it a truly memorable experience was the staff. They were quick to offer recommendations or directions and really went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and worthwhile. My rate included breakfast at the hotel daily (which was delicious) but on my last day, I was scheduled to leave for the airport before breakfast began. Without hesitating, the front desk offered and arranged for a plate of food to be sent to my room before I left. Such a gesture only enhanced what I would have already considered to be great hospitality.
Once you have found the place (it's not easy as it doesn't have the name in English above the door), it's quite a quaint hotel. Friendly staff that are very helpful. They have an unusual custom of leaving the door to your room wide open so when you get there, you walk straight in. A strange one that. Anyone can get in a swipe stuff, if they wanted to, and you would get the blame and no doubt get charged. As soon as you enter your room, have a quick look about. Also unusually the doors open onto the corridor so beware when you open your door! A smallish room with basic things inside. A small double bed and I mean small! Hard to sleep two people in that I think. But ok just for me. It was comfortable though. The restaurant is on the 5th floor. Never ate there in the evening but reports are that the food is very good. I just had breakfast which was adequate for me. Nice smiling girl working breakfast was very helpful. Nice to have a smile in the morning! They offer tea and small cakes in reception area at 6 in the evening and very nice it is to. It's a smallish hotel but very nicely decorated. Especially in the reception and restaurant areas. Room decoration is basic but ok. Nice showers and everything clean. Would I use this place again, yes I would
