Recently we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel which is a floating one is very unique one. The rooms are nice with fantastic views of the river from the balcony. The location of the hotel is such that it is easily accessible to the metro station. The reception staff was polite. The buffet breakfast was good with lot of option s. The overall atmosphere was a relaxing one at the hotel. The only problem was the thin walls between the rooms where you could hear conversations from other rooms. The bathroom was small but not much of a problem. For a short visit it was a fantastic place to stay and would definitely recommend others to stay there. If not for anything but for its beautiful view of the river and a serene location
We were welcomed by the friendly staff at the front office, but the story at the restaurant was a little different. Room was large enough for this class considering that this was a riverboat at one time. As a result, the bathroom was tiny. However, the drain didn't work properly and we had to mop the floor with a towel. The bed was not super comfortable and the blanket was too small for two people. As we should have guessed from the earplugs on the nightstand, the walls were way too thin and we could hear every noise in the corridors as well as adjacent doors. Metro is nearby, but we took UBER each time we wanted to go the city center. The cost was very reasonable. Overall, it was an OK experience.
My boyfriend and I had the river view. It was lovely. Our room was small but still we did like it because it was different. The venue kinda far but its okay. The bathroom is small though. There are a lot of things the hotel can improve on like: 1st - I wish they can speak English more, some tried but still it was hard for them to understand us or make a request. 2nd - They clean are room which is nice but they dont refill our shampoo or the drinking water (I didnt really care at first because we did buy but we also forget you know so it would be nice if they are initiating it.) 3rd- we have a double bed and they gave us a single duvet only 😁. 4th- the noise was outrageuos, the s** noise from other rooms was okay but the others are just unacceptable like the people cleaning in the hall are noisy and you can just hear them walk like stamping their feet in the floor. On our last day, the room beside us was so noisy like partying but nobody even bother to at least call them to lower it down and it was 3am already. 5th- food was very blunt. Only the kharcho is good.6th- they said they have ATM but they dont have. Nonetheless, Im still giving them 4 but I hope they improve it. 😊
Forget the Art in the word. Haven’t seen any of it. Reasonably priced hotel at the river. A little far from the center , but taxi are cheap. The breakfast you have to pay separately in the restaurant and is not at western standards. For what you get the price relative high comparing to the room rate . Take a room with a balcony preferably at the riverside. Especially in summer really nice. The bar is purely a stripclub and just like the restaurant not from the hotel. Got in there but left. The room is specious and at western standards with air conditioning. Minibar and roomservice very cheap. The bathroom small like a bathroom at a boat. During good wether in summertime highly recommendable with a balcony at the river.
Stayed one night at this hotel. Pleasantly suprised, wonderfull location by the river giving a nice view of part the city. Room was modern and clean. If there was one drawback then it would be the noise from the bar but still I really enjoyed my short stay in this amazing city. Recommended!
the hotel is actually a boat on the Dnieper river, I was so enthusiastic for this idea ,so we paid little more to reserve a room with a river view , it was really worth it ,as form the room you can see the river , a part of Kiev ,some churches and the monument Rodina Mat !!! our room was spacious ,well-furnished and comfy ,bed sheets ,towels ,pillows were super clean ,the only thing that troubled me was the bath room with no shower!! as for showering, there is no bath tub ,or shower box, You just slide the bath curtain to get your shower ,but then all the bathroom floor is flooded with water ,and you need to wait till it dries out to use the bathroom again. It’s worth mentioning that the only free items in the room is two small bottles of water so you won’t be able to prepare yourself a cup of tea or coffee as its not included ,and you’d better bring some extra water with you . the location of the hotel is a part of the city center ,as you’ll have to walk to the metro station ,then to get to the center , you can get a taxi through the reception . regarding the restaurant ,we ordered twice ,it’s really overpriced ,the food was well presented, but hadn’t any taste ,the portions were very small, and you have to pay in cash !!
Good hotel for the money, easy to take taxi from, nice staff. Breakfast not for my taste, but evening was good, very tasty cabonara. Very fast service for laundry. Rooms have tv and the beds are good, cleaning service average but nothing to complain about
If you want somewhere to stay in Kiev that has a beautiful, restful setting and glorious views - you really can't go wrong with the Bakkara. I had the good fortune to stay here whilst working in Kiev and I loved every minute of my stay. The room (photos attached) was excellent value for money. Plenty of room, quiet and comfortable with my own private balcony looking out onto the river. Bathroom a bit on the small side but still okay and very functional. The minibar is possibly one of the cheapest I have ever experienced - a beer costs around €1! The restaurant served up good breakfasts and evening meals - ideal for starting or finishing a busy day. If you are a wheelchair user don't panic when you arrive and see the huge steps going down the quayside to the hotel - there is a little funicular lift that will get you down to level ground. There are also small elevators at both ends of the hotel to get you to the upper floors. The location is a bit strange and taxis are sometimes hesitant to get to the side of the hotel but persevere with them. I hope to visit the Bakkara again when I don't have to work - Kiev is a beautiful city and well worth exploring.
On a boat on the Dnieper river, you feel like on a cruise. The rooms River View are very romantic, with a terrace just above the water. The rooms are spacious and correctly furnished. Service is correct. Very good breackfast, you can have it on the terrace above the water. Restaurant not cheap but very good cook. Waitresses have very poor English, but they do their best
Beautifully located on the Dnipro From This large liner the views could not be better Quiet rural location away from the hustle metro or taxi Access to City Room nice size As part of a traveling couple Wasn't too comfortable with the show girl club downstairs The location wasn't ideal for city center And no shops in the vicinity Being a boat walls are thin
