Good Place, good room, but the staff can not tell the number of our room to anyone calling at the reception. This is privacy. We never said we were waiting for a call From a hotel like this I do not expect certain errors
Typically boat hotels have small, cramped rooms, but that’s not the case here. The Bakkara has well-sized rooms and it’s worth getting one facing the river (more expensive) because the views onto the cave monastery are splendid. The rooms also have a balcony - excellent for an evening drink. Although it seems out of the centre of things, the metro connection to the centre is regular and fast. There’s also an excellent Georgian restaurant nearby. The nearby bridge has a steady traffic rumble, but it didn’t bother me.
First of all, the hotel's great! The service was top-notch, the room was comfortable, the air was clean and the view was stunning. I also found an amazing drink in the bar, some kind of new Ukrainian vodka in a small bottle. Very light and savory, can't quite recall the name though... Really helped me relax at night.
For 3 cold nights I stayed in Bakkara hotel the fantastic view of the river let me (presoned)in my room. Everything like pectures and comments of previous travelers were very helpful. Sometimes you can hear oaning and sexy sounds from nieboures.
Tragically check-In - lazy, without smiles, arctic atmosphere.Room - like a boat, practical, really clean, bathroom is normal with all equipments.Breakfast continental mixture with local food, very young staff without smiles again. Check-out - no smiles , no goodbye. Leave and forget... But view from the room to river - I will remember for that...
Stayed for 3 nights in a standard river view room. Staff was professional and courteous, room clean and view was great from the 3rd floor. Hotel is located in a quiet area away from the constant bustle of the city, and about a 10 minute walk to the metro stop. We used Uber for most of our travel in the city and they were quick, cheap and efficient. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricier than going out, but very convenient and we used it a few times with great food. The maintenance and grounds staff do a great job with decor and keeping snow removed, and security was on par as well. Recommend this hotel and would stay again in Kiev.
The position of this hotel is enough good but not in walking distance of the city centre. My room was comfortable and clean (except for some stain on fitted carpet) but the bathroom was very very small. The staff is friendly and the wifi connection is free and good. The great negative point are the walls too thin so you can hear every noise and everything happens from the rooms next door.
Recently we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel which is a floating one is very unique one. The rooms are nice with fantastic views of the river from the balcony. The location of the hotel is such that it is easily accessible to the metro station. The reception staff was polite. The buffet breakfast was good with lot of option s. The overall atmosphere was a relaxing one at the hotel. The only problem was the thin walls between the rooms where you could hear conversations from other rooms. The bathroom was small but not much of a problem. For a short visit it was a fantastic place to stay and would definitely recommend others to stay there. If not for anything but for its beautiful view of the river and a serene location
We were welcomed by the friendly staff at the front office, but the story at the restaurant was a little different. Room was large enough for this class considering that this was a riverboat at one time. As a result, the bathroom was tiny. However, the drain didn't work properly and we had to mop the floor with a towel. The bed was not super comfortable and the blanket was too small for two people. As we should have guessed from the earplugs on the nightstand, the walls were way too thin and we could hear every noise in the corridors as well as adjacent doors. Metro is nearby, but we took UBER each time we wanted to go the city center. The cost was very reasonable. Overall, it was an OK experience.
My boyfriend and I had the river view. It was lovely. Our room was small but still we did like it because it was different. The venue kinda far but its okay. The bathroom is small though. There are a lot of things the hotel can improve on like: 1st - I wish they can speak English more, some tried but still it was hard for them to understand us or make a request. 2nd - They clean are room which is nice but they dont refill our shampoo or the drinking water (I didnt really care at first because we did buy but we also forget you know so it would be nice if they are initiating it.) 3rd- we have a double bed and they gave us a single duvet only 😁. 4th- the noise was outrageuos, the s** noise from other rooms was okay but the others are just unacceptable like the people cleaning in the hall are noisy and you can just hear them walk like stamping their feet in the floor. On our last day, the room beside us was so noisy like partying but nobody even bother to at least call them to lower it down and it was 3am already. 5th- food was very blunt. Only the kharcho is good.6th- they said they have ATM but they dont have. Nonetheless, Im still giving them 4 but I hope they improve it. 😊
