The house was built in 1897 and has vast amount of rich history; from being the mansion of Florida's first millionaire, to a speakeasy where All Capone was almost asassinated, to a favorite vacation spot for many US presidents. Besides the history, it is very relaxing here. The pool is very clean and has amazing views of the ocean. The staff there are on top of their game and do their best to make sure you have an amazing experience.

Fantastic place to relax with friendly staff and nice amenities on the ocean. New food service was a 11 out of 10 stars. Located at the end of Duval Street but close enough if you're looking for the action of downtown, also a few steps away from the Southern pillar.

Excellent place right on the ocean. Nice pool, bar, and tables overlooking the water. Our only warning is that parking is $30 a day extra.

Great location at quiet end of Duval but not far from the free Duval Bus loop. Also, We Cycle bike rentals will drop off and pick up multi-speed cruiser bikes & all accessories right into the bike rack. There is hotel parking for your car, but I'd utilize the 2 above mentioned means of transportation. (KW Transit also has 4 bus loops on the island and a shuttle up to Big Pine) Really good continental buffet breakfast with a large assortment of pastries and breads, fresh fruit, small quiches, boiled eggs, coffee, milk, orange juice, yogurt and cereals - all with great views from the room or seating on the porch or pool area. Great infinity pool and courtyard with nice outdoor bar. Our room (303) was wonderful - very well arranged and appointed with views all around. The 3rd floor is a long way up with no elevator, however, so make sure your body is up for it. Rooms 201 & 301 would be the prime ocean view &* pool view rooms in the main house. Rooms 101-103 are off the pool courtyard and each has a great and funky patio area outside its doors. 104 is a separate cabin with sitting porch. 204 in the main house also has a sitting porch. No actual beach or swimming at the property, but the seawall is great for lounging and sunrises. Right across the street (where the annex house/rooms are) is a small public sand beach and adjoining Southernmost cafe. If you want a day at the beach, I'd go to Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park. (easily reachable by bike with a $2.50 entry fee)

We will be returning. It was a great experience. The room was charming - great views, clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing. Highly recommend.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The view, the pool, the breakfast, the room and amenities! It is also in a fantastic location!

Friendly staff, relaxing surroundings, close to all attractions. Hopefully Hurricane Irma did not destory / damage this historic hotel. Very peacful place.

The Southernmost House is in the best location on Key West. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

it was like staying on a TV location, so individual and above the norm. a truly memorable experience we are so glad we didnt choose a 'cookie cutter' place like all the rest. It oozed with personality, charm, and culture.

Very nice adult only hotel. A bit of a walk to the main side of the island with all of the activities but quieter in the evening. Continental breakfast was very good

Great location, welcoming staff & beautiful amenities.

Great old hotel. You can park your car and walk up and down Duval St or take a shuttle to the top and work your way down. Other non chain hotels had no parking lots. Right on the water.

The Southern House is just a marvelous Inn. From the very first minute on property I was made to feel special . We stayed in the house across the street from the main house. Every detail was well maintained. We especially enjoyed the porches, the good mattress and quality bedding. The pool area was beautiful with the hammocks hanging from the palms right at the edge of the ocean. I have nothing except high praise for the property.
