The location is wonderful. We loved being right downtown and on the water. What we didn't like was having a gigantic cruise ship blocking our water view ever day. We also did not like overlooking Mallory Square. We were told it would be quiet on that side of the hotel- sadly it was not. Cars, motorcycles and masses of people are there at all hours of every day and night. A person with a leaf blower outside our window woke us up at 7:15 on Sunday morning.
Now for some general room issues: 1. The peep hole in the front door was installed for someone who is 6 feet tall. The average person cannot use this. 2. The shower is so small that I held out my arms and bent my elbos, I touched both sides of the inside walls with my elbos. There was no shelf to place shampoo or soap, so we had to bend down and retrieve these items from the shower floor- not a simple feat in such a tiny space.
3. The brochure and on-line pics of the resort's pool area show lounge chairs under the three or four cabanas. However, when we arrived, there are beds and not lounge chairs there. The beds are small and it's quite a challenge to fit two adults in if they want to recline. 4. Everyday when we came back to our room after housekeeping had been there the refrigerator door was not closed and the ice was melting and leaking. The items inside were luke warm.
To summarize, for the price we were paying we should have had better accommodations, service, and attention to details.
