Great location within walking distance to almost everything. Paid additional for leisure King room due to pics showing sitting area (chairs or sofa) and larger room. Pictures were INACCURATE as there was no other furniture or even room for it. Don't know how the smaller room even has space for a king bed. Base boards were dusty and room could use additional useable electrical outlets. Bathroom was small but nice. Your paying for location for this hotel.

Although beautiful and remodeled it was clear that the air conditioning system was old. The room unit was noisy and didn’t cool well. I was traveling alone but there is no way that my Wife would be comfortable. It is a beautiful hotel with a friendly staff and a nice restaurant.

When booking a weekend getaway for my husband and I there were so many hotels to chose from. We went first for location, then price, amenities, etc. They are all in the general price range but if you want to pay $100 - $300 more a night can choose others. Crowne Plaza is centrally located on Deval street where all the bars and restaurants are. We also only wanted to walk. I liked that there was also a fridge in the room and hotel bar. The hotel is old, very clean, dark atmosphere, and nice staff. I requested things we couldn't fly with and gladly gave them to me. The bartender from Russia is a good bartender and friendly. The pool I saw and fairly small and bar was not staffed so didn't use. The room fridge is in the cabinet in front of bed and can barely open due to space. We had a king bed and pretty small but surprised to see a nice couch by the window to sleep on if needed. The bathrooms are very small. As mentioned before the bathrooms are small! I'm 5'6 and while sitting could stretch my feet to touch door and touch counter and shower wall with elbows out. Overall, I would book the hotel again and really about what you are looking for on your trip. Enjoy Key West and Crowne Plaza!

After paying in full through Expedia before arrival I was faced with a $43/day "resort fee" at registration. I was told that it was on the website but I never saw it. I had been led to believe that I had prepaid in full. At registration I was given a form to sign acknowledging the "resort fee" which made me believe that I was not the first guest to feel deceived and object. When I asked what the fee was for, it was for 2 free "well brand" drinks (to enjoy over our 3 nights at the "resort"), two bottles of water and free parking--which was of no use as we had flown in. I was told there was a health club, but that the "resort fee" did not cover it and there was an additional charge for that. Then I found out that the two other couples we were traveling with had the identical experience and were surprised by the "resort fee." The hotel itself is okay, a little dark and outdated to my taste, but this is definitely not a "resort." It's a simple hotel. The "resort fee" seems to be a contrivance to make up for the low published rate, which gets the hotel ranked in online reservation services and reserved by unsuspecting guests like me and our traveling friends--and another couple I saw addressing the same issue at registration without success. The hotel knows you can't just walk down the street and get another room in Key West. Any time a hotel treats its guests as prey to feast upon instead of valued customers, I have no interest in doing business there again. Be warned.
