Lovely cosy hotel with the nicest staff and a good breakfast, great location and its own car park. The bed room was a little disappointing as it was very dated but the positives outway that is you get it for a good price.
I'd like to preface my review by stating that this is not something I like to do - writing negative reviews - but with this hotel I felt compelled to. On entering our room, I was immediately struck by the state of the carpets. It was covered in stains - from dark to light - all over the room. Frayed in places too but the stains were the thing that stood out. Nothing about the room was inviting. It was cold (we phoned up to have heating put on) and dark (the lighting is bad - and not all of them worked) and it looked nothing like any photos I had seen on their website. Before booking, I had done the usual research looking at reviews on this website and I honestly I cannot understand where all the positive reviews have come from. The only conclusion I can come to is that there must be a massive disparity between their rooms. Nobody would have had a different view of the room I was given. Straight after check-in, I did mention to the girl at the desk my disappointment at the room. She gave me a key card to another room to check (I asked for her to have a look at the carpet in my room but she declined) but it was really no better!! I found it absolutely shocking that this was deemed to be acceptable. I mentioned it again at check out and was told it would be 'raised with the housekeeping manager'. I never got the impression that this was going to be any kind of priority whatsoever. On returning home last Friday (10th Nov) I emailed the hotel outlining my complaint. I received no reply. I then emailed Tom Randles on Monday (13th Nov) and have yet to hear anything back from him either. I've paid my bill. I'm not looking for anything back. I just cannot believe that this hotel finds this level of cleanliness acceptable and can only say to anyone thinking of staying here - don't!!
The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Lovely open fires . A lobby area you won't want to leave. Lovely staff. Super comfortable beds.Great food. Fab leisure centre.there are absolutely no negatives in this hotel.I would return in a heartbeat!!
Exceptional team and location - all members of staff were extremely helpful and ahead of our needs. The hotel has great character and is very clean. Comfortable walking distance from the town. Lucky to travel a lot with my work, this is one of the best value for money locations I have come across!!
We returned here as a group of friends for the first time in a few years . I can't fault the staff in any way- the barman on Friday and Saturday was most pleasant and helpful , the lovely lady at reception gave us her own personal umbrella as we were heading out to a formal function and the maitre d in the restaurant was excellent . The rooms were well appointed and having sought a room close to the lift, there exactly what I got . Breakfasts were tasty and the staff patient with a group of women arriving in dribs and drabs ! The beautician in the spa did a make up application for me and I was extremely pleased with the results as she listened to exactly what I wanted and made helpful suggestions too . There are a number of interlinked rooms as the ground floor that function as bar/ lounges and had fires and comfy chairs . There are two blue badge spaces ( special needs ) close to the entrance , but the path to the hotel is a somewhat steep incline and the main door has steps and no hand rails. Access to the rooms is via lift but also involves some steps , as does the main restaurant and access to the ska through the hotel is down a flight of steps , unless you exit the hotel, drive into the sister property and use a side entrance . The shower in our room was over the bath . My advice for anyone with compromised mobility is to Ring the hotel beforehand and see if they can offer any solutions to the above before you arrive .
This was my 3rd visit to Randles Hotel with a group of friends. All the reviews you've read about the great location, the relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, the great food...they are all true. But what puts the hotel head and shoulders above the competition are its staff. At all times they are charming. helpful and obliging....the barman who served my glass of red on Friday evening, the very patient restaurant manager who had to put up with the vagaries of a group of 7 women swooning over the delicious cheesecakes and chocolate mousse for dessert (my compliments to the chef, Friday evening's dinner menu was beautifully executed) , the receptionist who offered us her own personal umbrella on a miserable Saturday evening...To the senior people in the hotel, top marks on your customer service, you've a fabulous team there! .Our overwhelming feeling as we checked out on Sunday morning was, was there any way we could wangle another night?! You will not regret staying here... Thank you to everyone!
Beautiful hotel! Everything was beautiful and clean, the staff were so friendly, helpful and always available. Not to mention the food- we ate here every day because it was so good! I honestly can't wait to stay here again next year for the Kerry Film Festival. Highly, highly recommend!!
From the moment we were greeted at reception, we knew our stay would be a wonderful one. The staff are friendly, alternative and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast is of a very high quality, with both a continental option and a freshly cooked to order hot option . The ingredients are of a high standard (the sausages gorgeous!) And the quality of table Linen and cutlery add to the experience. We also had room service one evening and the food arrived hot with attention to the smallest detail, again gorgeous and great value for money. The pool and spa area are wonderful for a bit of relaxing and morning swim! The hotel is a short 5 minute walk to Killarney centre and only a few minutes from a side entrance into the national park. An absolute bonus if you decide to holiday with your dog who is also welcomed at Randles. We will definitely be back!
Perfect location, close to the city center and not far from the parc. Everything is very clean and comfortable. The service is remarkable Perfect to have a beautiful moment with your partenaire by enjoying the vue, the breakfast and the swimming pool and spa service
I stayed for a few nights in Randles about 3 weeks ago with my mother. While being very familiar with Killarney, it was my first time to stay here but won’t be my last. It’s in a good location, the food was lovely, the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were spacious and the staff were so helpful – my mother was ill on her last day and they were so kind to us which we really appreciated. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about Randles.
