We stayed here 3 days recently. The room must have been the last one they would give out (Room 109) because it really needs a rehab. Others in our group had much nicer rooms. The bathroom looks like it was flooded at one time, all the pain is peeling off the bathtub surround. No space in there for storage. Lighting in room is awful. There is only one plug in the room that fits a standard Ireland adapter, I had to ask the desk personnel to find it for me, it was behind a drape. All the other plugs had a "french style" plug which I did not have an adapter for, and neither did the desk when I asked. The room was convenient to the lobby, but the view was a rooftop to a driveway. Food service in the am was good, the waitress assigned to our group was a really hard worker. All the staff were very hardworking, we would see them at breakfast, and late at night, I think they work long hours. But they do it with a smile. The bar area is broken into several rooms, which seems nice but makes it difficult for the staff to accommodate those who want to eat and those who want to drink only. Often this results in sub par service. Many other nicer hotel nearby, I would try one of them if I came her again.
Could use some updating but still5a good value. Conveniently located, friendly staff and a quiet location. I was impressed with how quickly cooked to order breakfast items were prepared. Nice and hot--unlike some places that serve up from under a heat lamp. If you are looking for a 5 star place, go elsewhere. This is a solid choice in the mid (or slightly above mid) market with very good service.
Randles is simply the best hotel we have stayed, we will return next year, staff are fantastic and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious and very clean , big comfortable bed, lovely shower room
The best we have ever experienced. We loved the wonderful service, food, people, room, decorations and location. Our questions and requests were kindly and immediately handled. We stayed two nights. Wish it could have been a week.
Even though hotel needs a bit of tlc it's still a great spot(perfect location, only short walking distance to town ). swimming pool is excellent, my little daughter loved it. Breakfast was good.We had a really good break.Definitely would recommend it.
Impressive! We looked just one week in advance for a reasonably affordable, four-star, two-night, two-room stay for mid-week in early September. We found that despite being shoulder-season, the better hotels book up early, as nearly every Ireland tourist and tour group likes to spend at least a day or two in Killarney. We were pleased to find that Randles Hotel still had a bit of availability, and though we can be tough critics of lesser quality lodging, we trusted other reviews here and were so pleasantly surprised at what a fine hotel this was. Do not worry that it is on a busy street. It is set back, up on a small hill, designed with most rooms away from the road. The beauty of it is that it is a short walk or drive one direction to the bustling main street of town, the Ross Castle, or the other direction to Killarney National Park. It is across the street from a wonderful local brew cafe. The staff at Randles Court were the friendliest and most helpful we met during our 9 day tour of Ireland, particularly Shane, who helps with afternoon check-ins and manages the beautiful bar in evenings (great wine and beer selection Shane!). We felt like lifelong friends after two days. The hotel itself had plenty of good parking, excellent food and the rooms assigned were spacious, clean and comfortable. Relaxing in the finely appointed, recently updated and spacious common areas and dining room almost made us feel like guests at the White House. Though I hesitate to leave such a glowing review and risk making it more difficult to book a room for our next visit, they clearly deserve our very best recommendation. Thank-you!!!
This was our first stay at the Randles, we stayed in a signature king suite. We were very pleased with the room lay out but the outstanding overall impact on us was the service at breakfast each morning. Aziz in his quiet unassuming manner was the best restaurant manager we've ever experienced. Attention to detail, very polite, faultless, he led a very friendly team and was an asset to the Randles. Other positives include our welcome on arrival after a difficult journey by the staff on reception and Jeremys enthusiasm in ensuring we knew some of the local highlights to visit. Bella and Holly, ourSpringers were well received too. Nothing was ever too much trouble and for that we were very appreciative. Well done all of you for making our 35th wedding anniversary break a memorable one. We look forward to a return trip
Visited this hotel recently. Pricey for September for what is a very basic hotel. Staff were lovely and quite helpful. The hotel itself is dated and probably could do with an upgrade. The food was nice but portions were strange. I had the beer battered fish with chips. The chips came on a very small saucer which looked like a portion for a toddler. My partner ordered dessert and 20 mins later it arrived. There is a lot of competition in Killarney for accommodation and I have to say I would not return here
Can't fault it. Excellent little hotel with lots of character and in great location. Had afternoon tea with my wife and was just so relaxing and delicious. Bar was lovely with nice selection of whisky
Hotel room was spacious, recently decorated, overlooked a woods, comfortable bed. Parking was on the property, no need to search for a parking space. Reception was efficient and informative. Bar adjacent to entry was convenient, excellent menu, particularly the seafood. Breakfasts were wonderful, food so fresh and service beyond expectation. All the people seemed to care that they satisfied your needs. Very convenient to downtown without being in the heavy traffic of downtown Killarney. We walked to downtown every afternoon to explore the feel of this beautiful Irish town, perhaps a ten minute walk. Very important, hotel is convenient to the drives of Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. Gorgeous mountains and scenery!!! We will stay at Randles again next time we visit Killarney, our favorite hotel in our favorite little Irish town.
