Me and 11 of my golfing buddies stayed here in June 2018. The rooms were very nice, the food was very good, the work out center although a block away was a pleasant surprise. However why this place is worth staying at is the exceptional staff ! Everyone who works there is more than willing to help out in anyway they can. The two women at the front desk were super friendly and helped us with all of our crazy requests.. John, I dont know his official title, I just know that he made you feel like royalty !! The guy was just amazing... he did everything and seemed to know every guest in the hotel by first name. Honestly one of the best service experiences ever !!
First of all, the staff was lovely, very helpful and pleasant. While our room was large and the bed was comfortable, the AC unit did not work properly. Our room had one small window that looked out onto the side of another building. The bathroom was nicely appointed, however, there needs to be a shower curtain or door to keep water from running out onto the floor. Our rate included a full Irish breakfast which included ample selections that were well-prepared.
We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a central location to take in beautiful Ireland. Our driver Dan Coffey was fantastic booking golf tee times for us and providing history and very wonderful memories.
We stayed here several nights and loved it.The hotel was excellent in every way. It is centrally located in the town. Room was very clean with large bathroom. Had tub and shower, with large rain shower head. Bed was extremely comfortable. We were in a room facing the street and it was very quiet. There are heavy curtains on the windows. The room had TV, safe, all amenities. Good lighting including a nice night light. Breakfast was excellent. Could order off menu or get buffet with pastries. We loved the whole experience!
We stayed at several places around Ireland, but I can honestly say that the Killarney Royal was the Best by far. Accommodations and meals were exemplary, but the service is what we will remember the most. We were there 3 weeks ago and we're still talking about the extraordinary service provided by Michael, JoAnn and the entire staff. The States could learn so much about what customer service should be from this amazing establishment. Meals were also fabulous. Breakfasts were huge, with everything you could ever want....including fresh jams, jellies and a full honey comb. Dinner did not disappoint either. Great seafood chowder. The hotel bar was charming and was a perfect location to end the day with an Irish coffee. Great location, too. Perfect home base for sight seeing day trips, with great restaurants, pub and shops within walking distance. Loved, Loved, Loved Killarney Royal!!!
Excellent location!! John - their early morning breakfast personality made our stay fantastic. A true Irish gem of a man and he always made our days a bit brighter! Thank you John!!!! We will be back soon.....
We stayed here 3 nights while in Killarney. The location is great- easy walk to lots of restaurants and shops. Our room was pretty big, though facing a wall about 3 feet away. There was noise at night from the pub next door. The shower was set up poorly with water leaking onto the floor from the 3/4 wall partition. Breakfast was included in our stay. There was a buffet in addition to being able to order off the menu. We stuck with the buffet as we found the eggs had no taste. The buffet had lots of options including breads, yogurt, and fruit. The hotel has no gym, but you can use the one a short walk to their sister hotel. The gym was decent, typical hotel gym equipment. The people at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful.
We didn't stay at the Royal this year, however, we were there for a couple of nights 20 years ago, and since we were close to it this year, we walked over to the hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised at the beautiful change in the hotel dining and public rooms and the bar area. I couldn't look at the guest rooms but did look on Trip Advisor at the pictures of them; they too have been updated and look beautiful. So...we had lunch, and the food was very good. Since we were so comfortable there, we had lunch there several times while we were in Killarney. The staff in the restaurant is very competent, professional and friendly, all at the same time. It appears that many locals eat here as well. That's always a good thing!
When planning a trip make sure to book one of the 29 rooms at this beautiful Inn. The rooms, service, breakfast and atmosphere where outstanding. We were greeted by the ever professional and pleasant Nuala, whom I can’t say enough about. She took the time to get to know the guest and make them feel at home. Mike was equally as pleasant and makes a great Irish coffee. The room was well appointed and the bed super comfortable. Unfortunately we were there for just one night, while driving through Ireland. Located in the heart of town; it is very easy to walk to most of its lively shops, pubs and restaurants. The hotel allows you to park at it’s sister property the Great Southern Killarney; a quick 2 minute walk from the hotel.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful giving our group assistance on locations and things to do In the area. Especially John 👍🏻. Rooms were spacious and updated for this 115+ yrs old hotel. Great breakfast and an elegant sitting/lobby area to sip coffee as well.
