The hotel is very clean, pleasant and welcoming. It is in a central location and the staff was very helpful and pleasant to a person. We also enjoyed the small gathering rooms around the hotel for morning or evening conversation and reading.
Friday 16/06/17 This Hotel is awful and completely over priced paid €200.00 for one night and I really expected more was extremely disappointed €70-€90 a night is about where your at. We hadn't booked and the staff did apologise for the state of the room. However a toilet seat that won't stay up so you have to sit with it resting on your back and bits of broken furniture in the room along with a knackered dangerous looking heater stuck to the wall and hideous decor and a fantastic view of a roof top extractor fan what an absolute joke! Kept up half the night by the distinct chill (summer visit) in the room and the paper thin walls and the loud singing coming from the bar area. The Hotel looks great from the outside is centrally located and inside the main areas it's a classic hotel with lots of beautiful period features of times gone by. However the room was a shocker. I felt like I'd slept in an old shoe! On reflection I feel violated by the price had I not been so tired from the long drive and had I seen the room before I paid I would of got straight back in the car and carried on driving. The breakfast was standard nothing more to add about that. Had spent a week traveling around Kerry and this was the last stop over of our honey moon. Lovely staff terrible hotel room NEVER AGAIN!
We had a lovely four poster room. It was huge, with arm chairs and a small table and chairs and the hugest wardrobe! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was very good. Great free parking. Right in town on the main road.
This hotel is in an excellent location. Close to everything so you can walk. They also have a nice parking lot for your car. It is a cozy hotel with traditional Irish furniture. It is an older hotel and definitely has an Irish country feel. We enjoyed are stay and everyone was very welcoming.
I stayed June 7th and 8th, 2017. I read other reviews that weren't so good and wasn't sure what to expect. I asked for a room on the lower floor which I stayed in room 100. It was a single bed and a queen. It was spotless, the shower was amazing, best bed in my 10 day trip. Quiet even though I was facing the car park. Not fancy but just right. When you stay in a beach location you often pay for an expensive room that isn't so great. This room and hotel was like being at home. The windows are high so you can't see in. Parking in Dingle can be tough as everyone wants to be there so it was nice that you could park the car and walk everywhere you wanted to go. The Harbor is just a few blocks behind you where you can pleasure walk or do one of the many harbor cruises (we did Fungie the Dingle dolphin cruise), great craft shopping, fantastic pubs with nightly music across the street and up and down the Main Street. Family friendly town. There is a grocery store, outdoor market, plenty of places for the kids and many beaches. Mrs Benners was the perfect place to stay. Locals enjoy the pub as much as the guests. Food was fantastic, pub was cozy and private with dark wood, nooks to hide in or conversation at the bar. Local pictures on the walls. The staff is fabulous and friendly. I can't wait to return and I will recommend Mrs Benners to anyone looking for value, cozy accommodations and a great location in the center of it all. Not to mention it's about 4 miles from Connor Pass and Slea Head Drive which should be on your bucket list. You'll be sorry if you make it to Dingle and miss out on that.
This is our second stay at Benner's Hotel in Dingle. The hotel is beautiful! Quaint and filled with antiques in every corner. The location is excellent, smack in the center of Dingle city center, so all the shops and restaurants are walking distance. The rooms are nice. Not fancy, but clean. All of this is great, right? Well the staff is the best ever. Mrs. Benner has done a wonderful job of making them fun, knowledgeable and so friendly! We had our nightcaps at the pub in-house and we laughed and got some great local Ireland tips that helped make out trip the best ever. Dingle is a spectacular place. I look forward to my third stay at Benner's, hoping it's very soon.
Location, location! The quaint hotel is right in the heart of Dingle with plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shopping nearby. Some of our group had trouble with room keys at check-in and they immediately sent all 16 of us down to the bar for a free cocktail while they handled the problem. Service was excellent.
The Benners Hotel is a super place for your stay in Dingle. It is centrally located and especially great with free parking if you have a car. There are many really great restaurants on the same street and a short walk from the hotel to the waterfront restaurants. Especially interesting and local is the stained glass windows by Harry Clark just a few blocks away in the old convent behind the main Catholic church. Benners Inn has a delicious breakfast and their guest rooms are tops. Highly recommend the hotel and the friendly and helpful staff!
We arrived in Dingle without a reservation on Friday evening of a long weekend. The place was bustling, and all the B & B's were full. Looking for places online wasn't working We wandered around for an hour before walking past this Hotel on Main St. and they had a double room for 149E, including breakfast for 2. We were hoping for something a little closer to 100E, but it also had a gated carpark (and street parking looked impossible) They were so kind and accommodating and the location was Perfect. The restaurants and pubs were all around. We had to walk up to our room, but they had an elevator to bring our luggage up. It is an old place and sort of broken up into parts, so the elevator did not go all the way up to our floor. Staff was very accommodating and the breakfast the next day was really good. You get to order a breakfast entree and also go to the buffet with pastries, fruit, cereals etc. We also stopped in the bar late night and they held it open (at the discretion of the porter) until 1 am or so.
Beautifully prepared food in a cozy setting; more tea room than pub, but drinks are available. The seafood chowder was packed with fish (and garnished with three mussels in their shells) and served with brown bread and butter. The Caesar salad had shaved Parmesan, house-made croutons, and freshly-cooked chicken breast. Generous portions but we didn't feel stuffed. A local shop clerk recommended it and we were glad she did!
