Loved our lunch in the heights lounge, food was excellent with amazing service from maura, she made our visit special and we will definitely return to see her along with mike and Breda. 5 star all the way

The Aghadoe Heights Hotel is a stunning property in Killarney with the most outstanding and dramatic views you can imagine. The hotel seems relatively recent and we were received with a very warm welcome by the front office team. I want to point out that the first night was a bit frustrating for us because of an exclusive wedding that was happening, however I don't want to write this as a negative note, because this event demonstrate how a 5-star hotel really makes up for you. In the following evening I had the opportunity to speak with David (Hotel Assistant Manager) about it and David went way out of his way to make sure we were happy and he could revert completely the experience from the previous evening. And guess what - he did it! Thank you David for the fantastic hospitality and dedication! I would like also to say thank you to Jane and Betty (Restaurant) who were the most delightful waitresses we could have! Thank you Stephen for the great service on the first evening! And thank you to Noreen (Reception) who recommended to us the most fantastic places to visit in the area. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and spacious. We had a private balcony with views to the lake. We will definitely be back at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Aghadoe Heights hotel is a bit outside of Killarney, but they make up for being in the outskirts, offering fantastic views, stupendous accommodations (especially in the suite I was in), great food and what looks like a really nice spa (I didn't get a chance to try it).

My hubby brought me here for afternoon tea for my birthday. And what a treat. We got a lovely table by the window and even though it was a horrible day outside we could still see the lakes. From start to finish the service, afternoon tea, and the relaxing atmosphere was 5*. They brought out an extra little treat for my birthday which was a really thoughtful touch and I really appreciated it. We couldn't finish everything but they gave us a tub so we could bring the leftovers home. Can't wait to go back.

I came here to use the spa whilst my partner played golf. I paid 25 euros for the use of the pool and thermal journey which was excellent value and the facilities were fantastic. The staff where extremely friendly and o had a lovely day of relaxation. The pictures do not do the pool justice.

Brief but very pleasant stay at the Aghadoe Heights. We had two rooms adjacent to each other, both beautifully appointed with a panoramic view of the lakes. Reception, restaurant and bar staff all welcoming and could not do more to assist. Definitely will be back.

Very average across the board and punching above its weight to call itself 5 star accomodation. Not enough staff at breakfast time, trying to get hot tea or extra toast is a no no. Fitness suite is 2-3 machines , thermal suite was cold .. On returning at 12pm barman was going to call someone to see could we have a nightcap - forget it! Will be returning to the Europe for 5 star..this is more like a 3 star location.

I had booked the hotel earlier in the year and had to cancel, was eager to get a visit booked in and noticed they had an offer on so we used that. I’ll try to start with positives. Staff throughout were nice and the spa is lovely. Special mention to my spa therapist Amanda with whom I had a great chat throughout my lovely treatment. Nice touch with the sorbet and herbal tea in the relaxation room. Breakfast we thought was good, plenty on offer from continental to hot menu, all of which was cooked to order. Now the rest. I was unimpressed on arrival, it was a very wet day and the design of the building means the front entrance holds water and as a result isn’t very pleasant on arrival. I didn’t appreciate a busy road separates the hotel from the wonderful view you see on the website, so not exactly a peaceful location, my own fault for not looking closer. Check in was efficient, as it was our wedding anniversary they informed us they had upgraded us which was a lovely touch. Our room had a lovely view but that’s where it ends. It was very tired and outdated, lots of wood and dark colours. The room was cold and we had to use the plug in heater provided (that should have been a hint). After a long day out exploring we returned on the second night to cold showers. Another small thing our key card stopped working on 3 different occasions over the 2 days. The next corridor did look lovely, plush carpet, nice décor etc. I did comment on check out about my disappointment with the room and was informed that there are 17 rooms remaining to be upgraded, I guess we got an old one as we were on an “offer”. Considering it was “5 star” I would have expected better bathroom products, especially considering the Voya spa onsite but instead it was generic shampoo/shower gel etc. And actually we had no shower gel on first day. The balcony on our room, like the entrance was a very flawed design, with open slats of wood, meaning water from the balcony above seeps through so that the balcony is un-useable. Also thought it strange there are no partitions to separate the balconies the whole way down, whish meant no privacy from adjoining rooms. Overall I was underwhelmed by the whole hotel. Pool is in a strange place, bar is uninteresting and lounge is set with tables for dining complete with tablecloths so not exactly a comfortable place to sit and relax. Food in restaurant was middling, I would have expected amuse bouche and petit four in a 5 star location. Overall, glad I didn’t pay full price, I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t recommend the hotel and its back to our usual haunt in Killarney (The Lake Hotel) for our next visit which although isn't 5 star offers a more comfortable stay. We travel a fair bit around Ireland and have stayed in lots of 4 star hotels that are far superior to this in terms of offering, luxury, dining experience and general facilities.

My wife and I had been eyeing up the Heights for a few years as a possible break location. We got there eventually - two nights in a lovely room with an awe-inspiring view over the lakes. What's to say...except so memorable. Everything - reception staff, concierges, afternoon tea, waitresses (particularly Bríd at breakfast, with that lovely melodious Kerry accent and can-do attitude), bar staff, housekeeping, spa...all top class. Killarney is special, and so is Aghadoe Heights.

One of the nicest and relaxing Spas I have been to so far, . The room was perfect with view to the lake, clean and made up more than once during the day. The Spa facilities top notch, I especially loved the Kneipp Room :) . The food was excellent also. Would definitely recommend this place.
