We visited Ferndale House, we were on a classic car expedition. It is a homely place and a friendlier welcome we could not have had. Within easy walking distance of any choice of eateries. After dining out we were able to relax in the sitting room before retiring to bed. A very good breakfast after a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. It seemed to us that some of the other guests were repeat visitors. We would certainly stay again if we needed accommodation near Kenilworth. We had slight concerns about a possible leak in the car radiator as we were leaving and were sent off with a supply of water should we need it on our journey. (happily we didn't).
Stayed at Ferndale for one night only during a fleeting visit to the Midlands to see a show. Ferndale provided us with a most comfortable room and a very satisfying breakfast in a pleasant and attractive guest house. Our room was a good size, was well equipped and the bed was great for a good nights sleep. Cleanand with ample supplies of tea/ coffee etc, this rather lovely guest house surpassedour expectations, particularly as we have paid a lot more and received a lot less in other places. Would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area...clean, comfortable, welcoming and with a generous and beautifully prepared breakfast Great value for money.
Stayed over on a Thursday night. The room was fine and included the usual facilities. The following morning I had a fantastic full English breakfast, much better than some I have had in much more expensive B&B's. The location was ideal for me and would be great for train travelers as the station is only a few hundred yards away. There was sufficient off street parking and the lady was extremely friendly and helpful. I would happily stay there again.
Tired, dated but clean room, you can hear everything from the room next door but once they switch their tv off and stop coughing you can go to sleep. It’s cheap and centrally based which is the best selling points
We stayed here for one night in the way down to a wedding in Devon. On arrival we had been upgraded to a king size room free of charge because it had been so hot during the day. It was a very clean room with everything we needed. The ensuite was small but functional and the shower was excellent. Breakfast in the morning had lots of choice and was cooked brilliantly. My individual caffitiere was a nice touch. Our hosts were very helpful, not intrusive but had lots of ideas of places to go for dinner. We would definitely be happy to stay here again
Stayed over on a Saturday night to attend a function in the town. Our initial greeting from the male owner was a tad brusque but the room was fine and included the usual facilities. Bathroom was a little small but functional. The following morning we had a most excellent full English cooked by said male owner, but fronted by his female co-owner who was charming and very attentive. The location was great for us and there is off street parking which was useful. In summary, a little bit chalk and cheese but we would happily stay there again.
My recent stay for two nights at Ferndale guest house was really excellent. The owners are very accommodating and extremely helpful. The weather was very hot and even though I had booked a single room for myself, they put me in a lovely large twin room downstairs as it was cooler at no extra cost. They even have a fridge under the stairs for guests and that was perfect for me as I carry a lot of my own food and fruit when I travel. The breakfast was home-cooked And delicious. A few months ago the Kenilworth train station opened, which is a bonus and when I left I just walked down the road to catch the train to Leamington spa. All in all it was a comfortable and lovely stay and I would be more than happy to go back again when in the area.
We stayed in the King Room with ensuite shower room for three nights on arrival into the UK. It was very comfortable with space to spread out our belongings and the room had many nice touches including things you might need and forgot to pack. The hosts Liz and Derek were very friendly and welcoming and available to assist with anything if needed, but also left us alone to rest and settle. The bed was superb and much needed after little sleep for 36+ hours! The breakfast was lovely - we just chose what we wanted off the menu and we enjoyed chatting to other guests who were also friendly. Kenilworth is a lovely town and we really enjoyed our stay at Ferndale House with easy access to train and buses for day trips to other places. We are looking forward to returning at the end of our time in the UK for a couple more nights and thank Liz and Derek for making us feel welcome.
I was suppose to of been staying here 2 nights but got given the attic room. I stand at 6 ft tall and couldn’t not walk around the room without having to crouch so went downstairs to talk to the hotels owners, to this I was greeted with “well you get what you pay for and if you don’t want to stay don’t” Sure enough I went back upstairs packed my things back up and left. The owners are all friendly until you put a complaint in then their attitude changes and they are plain rude.
Me and a friend stayed here last night to attend a wedding reception. The place is very warm and homely, the owners are lovely and friendly. The room was clean and cofortable with everything needed for ones stay The breakfast it the morning was lovely, great produce and cooked perfectly. Would definately reccomend, no issues what so ever.
