We flew into Johannesburg late in the evening and was able to hop right on to the bus provided by the hotel. Check in was a breeze and the luggage was quickly transported to our room. The beds were divine and sooo comfortable! I just also rave about the buffet breakfast!! I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and I have never ever seen a spread quite like this one! We will definitely recommend this facility to our friends!

staff very attentive. One senior lady was sleeping for a while in lobby on chair when we informed the front desk Receptionist went to her tried to find how she was doing & connected her daughter in UK so she can talk to her Senior Lady felt much better

The only negative I can say is the toilet seat was old and beat up. Lol That was in sharp contrast to the rest of the place. Seemed out of place. As always, staff was top notch!

Being as I fly out of OR Tambo quite frequently, Southern Sun is very conveniently positioned close by and as I always drive my personal vehicle into the area to be dropped off for airport valet parking service, parking at the hotel is never a problem and cost is comparitive. Their shuttle service is almost always in time due to two shuttles running approximately 15 min intervals. The staff is always friendly, on top of situations and well trained. The on-site restaurant is almost always serving 5 star meals. This being said, I must point out that the rooms are tired looking, in need of renovations/upgrades and it will be interesting to see how the area around the airport thrives once the new hotel is completed and the market becomes more competitive. Until then, I'll continue to use Southern Sun as my first choice.
