I would probably again stay there when I am in Hawaii. Relatively affordable with all household items needed

Had a very nice stay at Bali Hai. Rooms were lovely and location very convenient to Hanalei and the North Shore. Upstairs room was desperate for a/c. Have stayed in other places in HI w/o a/c and had no problems, but even with all fans humming it was very hot especially for my wife who the vacation was for. Maybe a lower unit would have been cooler. Otherwise a nicely landscaped complex with 2 lovely pools. Only other complaint was the time share push from the concierge when we picked up our parking pass. Mahalo

The resort only has few rooms equipped with air conditioner, and the staff won't tell you the truth while checking in. It's ridiculous for guests to bear with 86 degree without air conditioner. Finally we had to find another hotel after effortless complaining to the resort.

We had a great time here. Only two things could make it better, ocean view and AC, but it was very nice.

Gorgeous landscaping, easy access to main road in Princeville; lots of walking trails nearby, near beautiful Anini Beach which has a natural reef so great for swimming and watching turtles. Very friendly staff - lots of room in 2 bdr condo Gentle Trade winds cooled the rooms. Huge soaker tub. Large kitchen - we cooked all meals easily.

The villa was clean with a beautiful waterfall right outside my bedroom window. The staff was helpful making arrangements for our touring pleasure and setting us up with the Smith Luau-show and food. kitchen was complete with grocery store within 5 minutes to gather those foods to grill or cook. No litter anywhere on the grounds. Only drawback was there is limited lighting going into the resort but once in Bali Hai there is light galore-tough if you get there after dark. You need to be on the NORTH SHORE this is the place to be,

The condo was nicely laid out and easily accommodated us. It was clean, and had an adequate amount of kitchen and cooking utensils, nice fluffy bath and beach towels. However, the sofa bed was a sleep killer and back breaker. I advise asking for a roll-away. The staff was very nice and the swimming pools were delightful. There was no view in our unit, but we enjoyed eating outside on our lanai. All in all, it was a very nice place to stay.

Exceeded our expectations from the moment we pulled into the drive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Always someone around, even outside, to help you. Clean unit and amazingly comfortable even though there isn't air conditioning, always a breeze! After seeing other areas on the island, we were very glad we made our reservations here!!

Bad: People above can be heard walking around. Neighbor smoked on his patio which smelled up our whole unit. Unit (#210) was next to clubhouse, so, employees took their phone breaks right next to our windows. Front desk people very short over phone. Good: Spacious 2 bdrm with fully equipped kitchen with ice maker, cookware, dishwasher and washer/dryer.Decent mini home stereo

we stayed at this accommodation for two nights before we went to stay at our final house on Hanalei Bay. It depends on what you are looking for, but to me this place lacked character big time, it's one of those typical timeshare places built on a golf course setting, which could be anywhere on this planet, I didn't have the feeling we were on Kaua'i at all... (except for the great weather) The first morning we were invited for a continental welcome breakfast, where we could also pick up our parking pass. This turned out to be a shrewd way to lure us into buying excursions, and the even tried to talk us into attending a timeshare presentation. Not the thing you expect when you just paid almost 600 dollars for a two night stay, this to me was a major turnoff... The other turnoff was that one of the toilets in the apartment kept spewing other peoples feces, and made the one bedroom smell really bad, not to mention the fact that it made me almost throw up twice ;) But i'm sure this must have been an incidental thing. On the positive side, it is a very spacious apartment, with a great kitchen full of good kitchen supplies. also a nice patio for a dinner outside, and a jacuzzi in the master bathroom. >> If you are looking for a spacious apartment with total lack of character that could be anywhere on this planet, this could be the place for you! But then again i'm more a person that loves authenticity and history...

This condo property was exactly what our family needed. We stayed 10 nights and needed a room big enough for all of us to stretch out in! Our room was clean and the housekeeping and maintenance crew were all super friendly and helpful. The facility was well kept up inside and out. The (old) pool was spectacular. My favorite! We will be coming back!

The unit we were given at the Bali Hai was far more than we expected. A 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite fully stocked. The beds were extremely comfortable and although the resort was full, it was very quiet at night and early in the morning. grounds were immaculate.

The accomadations were beautiful. Landscape was amazing. Spacious and comfortable. It is on the rainy side of the island but that is part of the experience. Would definitely return.

Location was great. Staff was helpful but it would be nice if , once you tell them you are not there to tour the property or buy that they would hear you. Phone calls at 8am to solicit show ins are not appreciated.

We loved our stay. The condo was absolutely beautiful and as clean as any condo we have ever stayed in. The grounds and pools were also beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

we got a very updated condo and was pleased. the staff are not as knowledgable about the tours. call the tour people yourself. we booked a tour to pearl habor, was told we would be done by 3ish and home by 6ish. NOT SO MUCH. are ticket back to the island said 9:22pm we left at 5:30am to get to airport. The tour was from 9-5. When we called to get this changed, the tour people as well as the hotel people never got back to us. when I called again they said nothing could be done without more money. All I did was go to the ticket guy and he changed with no cost, so I felt the hotel was not any help. however the check in guy [...] helped in everyway he could. Don't let them try to charge you for a flat tax rate if you are not a timeshare owner. This [...], listen and took if off our bill. So with the tours ask alot of questions. beauitful island. i t was truly a lovely place and i would go back again.

There were not than many places to have an unexpensive meal, we had to do some cooking in the beautiful kitchen.

Didn't spend a whole lot of time at the hotel. No AC, so slats and screen doors were in effect. Not great if your neighbors wanted to stay up late talking on their balcony. Otherwise, beautiful villa and a great place to wake up with mountain views. Also, you must not mind being woken up by roosters.

I loved the hotel, although we had several snafus during our stay (toilet that kept running--bad flap, smoke detector that went off for 10 minutes due to steam from the shower, a t.v. that had poor reception), but other than that, the hotel was great. It is actually a time share and a 2 bedroom condo. There was no pressure to purchase a timeshare, which was a relief. There were beautiful cardinals and crowing roosters all around our room, as well as lovely tropical plantings. We had a peek a boo view of the water from our first floor unit; perhaps a second story condo would offer better views. When I booked the hotel, the operator was not forthcoming about its location. It is certainly not oceanfront, but views apparently may be had in certain units. All the same, it is not a long drive to water--there are beaches and water everywhere in Kauai. It is a beautiful island and the accommodations at Bali Hai Villas are very nice indeed. I would recommend it to families for a very comfortable stay indeed.
