Whalers Cove Oceanfront Resort

This was a return trip to Kauai for me. I was looking for a roomy place ocean side that wasn't a hotel, quiet and located relatively close to most amenities. I love hearing the ocean waves, and they actually helped me sleep better at night. I never felt too warm in my condo unit. Each room had its own ceiling fan. But, too be honest, the breeze coming in through the screened sliding doors from the patio kept everything cool. The complex isn't too enormously large which I liked. There was snorkeling and swimming within walking distance. There were plenty of dining and grocery options nearby. Spouting Horn and one of the several botanical gardens were located minutes away. i like to stay active and appreciated all of the tidy walking paths around. The reception and check out was welcoming and warm. I always felt safe nearby. For me, this was just right. I will stay here again next time. I stayed in unit 220.

The location is very nice, nice grounds and view of the cove. We were in unit 212 which has a decent view of the ocean. There is no A/C, don't let anyway say the tradewinds will keep it cool, because they don't blow into this unit. Even with the fans they supply it will remain very warm in the condo day and night. This unit is a little dates but still nice, they didn't do a very good job cleaning it prior to our arrival, especially the kitchen. We got the ice maker going but I think it probably going to crash again. the homeowners upstairs are nice, but when they are in you can hear them walk around, sounds like stomping. Because you have to leave the doors open to get any kind of air you will hear the waves crashing, like really crashing all night with the occasional roosters crowing at 2, 3, 4, 5 in the morning. If you really want to enjoy your vacation I would recommend staying somewhere else, if you have low expectations than you will be fine. Also beds are not that great either.

Staying at Whalers Cove condo that we bought thru a charity auction. We chose the time of year based on availability. We arrived June first. Definitely the island to just take it easy and relax. Our condo is spacious, the pool area is clean. Just a couple of draw backs. Unseasonably warm weather with no air conditioning. And the pool area chairs and chaise lounges need to be replaced most were ripped. The location is great about 20 min drive depending on traffic and time of day from costco and airportn so stop and by food on the way to whalers cove. Koloa is close withe some local shopping and food. Poipu beach and whalers cove are within two miles. Must have a car to get around the island. Ihave been to Oahu, Maui and the big island of Hawaii but there is nothing like the beauty of Kauai! I think that is why so many movies have been filmed here over the years!

Location can't be beat. Unit 137 was two levels with bedroom upstairs and this got to be tedious for the long stay. The condo had less than sterling maintenence with almost half of the windows not working well, if at all. With no air conditioning it's hard to keep the place comfortable at times if windows can't be easily opened. There were many areas on walls that were dirty and smudged, needing paint, and a floor reading lamp did not work at all. There was a broken and non-functioning smoke detector on the top floor. The biggest objection was a couch and two chairs, along with their pillows, in living room that reeked of stale sweat and couldn't be used without a heavy spraying of deodorant and placement of towels over areas used to sit. They badly need replacement and it's doubtful they can be cleaned to eliminate the awful odor. When trying to use the vacuum cleaner it was found that the water tank to catch the dust had horrible fetid stinking water and was therefore not usable. The carpet was dirty in places and there was no umbrella on the lanai which made it hard to use since the sun shined in very hot most of the day. Some other units had umbrellas as they should. In essence, though we'd return to the property, it would not be this particular unit. For the cost the place should have been spotless and everything working. Parrish had this unit and a few others but is located in Koloa. They were good at responding to problems.

Absoutley beautiful Condos right on the water. Fantastic views from the lanai Very clean, well maintained. Very friendly and efficient staff. Close to shopping and resturaunts. We stayed in unit 211 and it was just fantastic. Beautifully furnished, Spacious, everything one could ever ask for and more. Can't wait to return.I would recommend Whalers Cove Condos to anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay right on the water.

Staff very friendly. Staff greets daily. Helpful with day trips and suggestions for restaurants, shopping and night life. Accommodations excellent. Quiet. Well located and close to the Kukui'ula Shopping Center and Restaurants.

We had a 2 bedroom condo on the 2nd floor. We were overlooking the pool and also had an amazing view of the ocean. There isn't a bad room here. All rooms have some ocean view. We had a fully equipped kitchen. The condo itself was very nice. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. There isn't air conditioning here, and I thought this would be terrible, but we had the sliding doors open and the wonderful ocean breeze blew in and kept it plenty cool. It was very relaxing to fall asleep listening to the ocean waves every night and waking up to the birds every morning. The resort is beautiful. It is in very close proximity to a wonderful little shopping plaza...Lapperts is a must for coffee, pastries and wonderful Ice Cream. We were there to get married, Whalers Cove made a wonderful place to get ready for the wedding and a wonderful place to come back to after the ceremony. 💕

We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo at Whalers Cove and it was amazing! There wasn't a single complaint! We loved everything about it! Due to plane issues, we missed our first night at the resort, but they were so sweet and left us a note with a welcome basket. I highly recommend staying here! The turtles in the cove were a wonderful bonus! We used the snorkeling equipment to check them out! They made our wedding getaway even better!

Amazing Oceanfront Condos, particularly Unit #120. This is possibly one of the best properties we have stayed at to date! There is a pool and hot tub outside, amazing landscaping, and plenty of restaurants and stores nearby within walking distance.

The views are amazing all day long. We saw turtles, whales, and dolphins multiple times. The condo is very large. The staff is very helpful and the pool is beautiful. We loved it here. My family of 4 (2 teen boys) had a great stay. It was private and quiet but close to everything to have adventures. I do wish the 2nd bedroom had larger beds not quiet twin beds my boys didn't fit without hanging off the ends lol. The good news was the office had extra futon mattress to bring in and sleep on. It was warm at times without air conditioning at night- but just asked for extra fans and that helped. This place is beautiful and we will be back!
