This hotel has a 10:00 am check out, yes you heard me right 10:00 am, so much for an enjoyable last day. The rooms even the singles are decent sized. The single rooms have a door adjoining two rooms which isn’t a problem unless the family in the adjoining room has Damien as their child, as was the case with our room. The walls and in particular the door are about as noise insulating as a bullhorn, fortunately the hotel staff was very accommodating and moved us to a quieter location, by the quiet pool. The hotel really needs to define what the quiet pool rules are, we were told to by a guest that meant no talking whatsoever and she complained about us talking at a normal tone. There were other times when there were several adults not being quiet and no one seemed to care. I would suggest to the hotel make one of the pools in the middle section an adult only pool or change the quiet pool to be adults only to avoid conflicts.
We enjoyed our stay here. We upgraded our room to a one bedroom and it was very comfortable. Only negative was 2 noise factors in our room: every night there was a knocking sound coming from the furnace inside our walls from the AC running and stopping, also the toilet kept running which we could hear even when the door was closed. The rest of our experience was positive. Our kids loved that the pool was open until 10pm and they had some toys/floats we could borrow.
Upgraded our room to a fabulous suite, lots of perks and gifts. Great concierge personnel and service.
The hotel is not on the beach, but you get full access to the St Regis beach and facilities. The villas have amenities such as washer/dryer, grills, ect. The bed is okay, no good views. The food at both hotels (Westin and St Regis) is extremely overpriced and is just terrible. E.g. we had a sushi roll for $27 and I can honestly say that sushi that I get in an NYC convenient store for $5-10 is of higher quality. Service is great, everyone is friendly. Drinks are okay, the beach is not the best and has rocks and corals, so okay (sort of - it is very shallow) for snorkeling, but not so much if you are looking to go for a swim.
I had to stay over for a night - after a trip from Japan. I went to bed early and I was surprised by the comfort. Soft but great support. It felt so cozy. I have trouble sleeping since I travel about 80 percent of the year. No trouble sleeping at the Westin. Most of the time after a long trip my body is stiff and my neck hurts. Not this time. It was hard to part with the bed. In the morning I noticed there was a washer and dryer in the room. What a great idea. Small stove and little kitchen. Didn't have the need or time to use it but very convinient I though. Great pool area too. My friends come to Princeville often and stay at Westin few times a month just because kids love the pool. I come to eat lunches here with friends. Food is good and the restaurant overlooks pool area so it's nice and relaxing. Overall I was little surprised how nice the place was. I'm online shopping for my Westin BED!!! Not my first time at Westin brand hotel but for some reason first time noticing the comfort.
Great location and fantastic breakfast buffet - not to mention proximity to all the famous beaches! Definitely will go again!
good for family great location if you want real luxury go to the St Regis or as we call it The Reeg!
Great market, it had everything! Beautiful grounds! Parking just ok Outside pool bar closed way to early.
This hotel exceeded out expectations in every way. The room comes with a cute & well-equipped kitchenette, which, even though small, served us really well during out stay when we felt like having some home-cooked food. There are outdoor grills throughout the resort so it's really convenient & fun to dine in with the family. Fantastic outdoor pool that's just 3-4 ft deep will make you feel better about letting your children splash around. The dishwasher, built-in laundry unit, adjoining jacuzzi, and breathtaking view of the ocean were awesome bonus too!
Perfect trip, especially with little ones. The property was gorgeous, pristine and tranquil. Full kitchen and huge space came in handy. Highly recommend.
We had a great stay at the Westin Resort. The room, resort grounds, and pool area were fantastic. If you enjoy cooking your own food, there are several nice barbecue grills positioned throughout the resort. We also enjoyed the spa up at the St Regis hotel and used the free valet service a couple of times to leverage their restaurants and beach access.
The hotel was vey nice overall. There was some construction going in multiple locations. It didn't bother us though because most of the day we were not at the hotel. Most of the construction was at the smaller far pool by our room but stopped at reasonable time. The main pool was where we hung out mostly with great cocktail service.
We totally loved the Westin! Great hotel and beautiful! Love that the pools were only 4 ft deep at the most! We lucked out and got an ocean view....sigh!!!! The only downfall was that power was out for 5 hrs on the day of my cousins wedding and when my auntie asked for some type of compensation all they said was it was beyond their control....not cool esp since she was the mother of the bride! Ughhhh!
I've stayed at the Westin in Princeville twice now. For a long stay in Hawaii, having the kitchen and all the amenities in the rooms makes all the difference. The hotel is clean, the pool never felt too crowded and there are plenty of dining options. Also the views of the sunrise from the hotel are breathtaking. The staff overall was very friendly. The only downside is that it's not right on the beach but you can use the shuttle there to use the one at the St Regis so other than that I have no complaints. Hope to make it back there again someday!
The little villa was well appointed with a well equipped mico-kitchen. The location is one that I would not choose again unless you are planning to take the 11 mile hike that is really close. It is a remote area but on an island that takes 1 1/2 hours to navigate is was not too far out.
Beautiful room, infinity pool and hot tub incredible, really cool secluded beach a short adventurous hike away, just a 10 min walk from parking lot. We were able to get amazing poke from the very nearby grocery store and have a great poke picnic on the beach. Very close to beautiful Hanalei, and the Napali coast. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that the nice restaurant on grounds has higher end prices, but food quality, while good, wasn't amazing enough to match the prices. Beautiful romantic getaway, most beautiful side of the island, Lappert's ice cream shop just next door (amazingly delicious!), we enjoyed our stay so much. First visit to Kauai and this hotel made it fabulous! Very nice and friendly staff.
Only major complaint was the room was stuffy. The fan had a hum to it, and there was a banging sound where the heater is located in the wall. The cooking supplies could have been of higher quality and more selection of supplies to cook from. The pots and pans were cheap and there could have been a supply of aluminum foil, plastic wrap.Other than that, the room, bed, balcony and area was fine. The buffet for breakfast was o.k, I found the food to be cool by the time I got to the table. It would have been nice to have more selection than eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, rice, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal and bread. The pineapple was the best, the melons tasted like the cutting board, and slightly moldy or sitting in the fridge too long. The quiet pools were not quiet, the children had no regard for anyone and jumped in the pool, when they were not supposed to.They screamed and carried on as if no one else was around. The staff barely did anything about it. The parents had no control over their kids. I was shocked that they allowed people to play their own sound systems at the pool. I, personally, want peace and quiet and not have to listen to other people's music. I found this to be extremely disturbing, and when I addressed this to the staff, they said I could go to the "quiet pool". Parental supervision needs to be addressed, as the parents allowed their children to just scream and run around and jump in the pools with no regard to anyone else. It was annoying and disrespectful of other guests. I heard that if you go in Sept and October, the property is quiet and has less occupancy. I went at the wrong time. Beware if you go in March/April cause of Spring Break. Other than that, the place is very nice, views are spectacular, staff helpful and service of cleaning the rooms excellent. Grounds superb.
The staff were friendly, but not the Aloha I've experienced at other resorts. Great rooms. Hotel operator does not forward messages... i.e. call for valet to bring up vehicle. Very pricey but OK for the area. I will likely stay in a vacation condo next time. Absolutely everything closes between 8-9 pm in this area-- The affiliation with the St. Regis was the best part. A nice beach with bar service ad a nice outdoor bar by the pool. The views from the St. Regis were amazing.
Stayed here on our honeymoon - it was everything you could dream of for a honeymoon getaway and more. The room was clean, inviting, and luxurious. The resort itself is gorgeous and makes every day feel like the relaxing getaway you've always dreamed of! The lawn and pools offer beautiful landscaping and breathtaking views of the ocean. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everybody who asked.
Sent my Mom and Dad here for their 50th wedding anniversary and they can't stop raving about it. They said having been there and driven around to see other properties....they wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. They really enjoyed the room and the balcony and said the staff was great. Home run!
