The room had stains on the carpet & bedding. On the day I checked out, I figured I had until noon to check out. At 8:00 in the morning, the maid knocked on the door & then opened it. I didn't even have time to get up from the chair & luckily I was dressed! She asked if I was leaving & I said not yet (since I had a later flight). Then she said you're leaving by 11:00 right. I couldn't believe how rude she was. I told her check out was at noon & I shut the door. This hotel was disgusting with horrible staff!! I would not recommend this place!!
Loved this place. So relaxing and great bag for your buck. Would definitely stay again on my next trek to Kauai.
The hotel was older and needed updates but the room was very clean. The staff was so nice and helpful but the bar on the property brought in a lot of unwanted noise and left drunk people wandering around the hotel all hours of the night, also bar goers were using the hotel parking which made it hard to find a spot to park.
Parking stalls too small and inconvenient....everything else was great
My experience there was awesome, relaxing, and the staff was great
Staff wasn't very helpful and was rude. Rooms were nice but the shower kept going from hot to cold without touching the handles.
The hotel was very comfortable, clean and close to the beach. I stayed in a garden room, which was better than pool or ocean view because it was quiet.
This is a very nice place to stay we had a room with a kitchenette it was quiet & we enjoyed it very much! The upper boxes won't let me fill in any of the boxes! Elaine Mancini
The staff were excellent. Very professional and friendly. The beach access and restaurant was wonderful. Appreciate the dial room cleaning services.
Nice retro beach hotel in convenient location on the east side of Kauai. We had an ocean view room overlooking the Lava Lava Beach Club which made for excellent entertainment nightly on the balcony. We loved listening to the live Hawaiian music in the early evenings. Nice little beach right there too!
The ugliest hotel I've ever stayed in. Filthy carpets, extremely small bathrooms, very expensive. I could have stayed at the spectacular Marriott for just a little bit more, but didn't realize a hotel in Kauai could be that bad. The only nice thing about it is the fact that it's on the beach.
window type air conditioner that is noisy, small bathroom, weak water shower pressure, extra plug outlets could be more readily available, louvered windows seems kinds of seedy. Toilet size was made for a child. small pool staff was nice. free valet a plus.
The rooms were on the bigger side and quiet and comfortable. The rooms are from the 80's and the sheets need upgrading, but for the price, it worked fine. Gorgeous view right on the beach while sitting at the restaurant and bar. 3:00 happy hour with $3 Mai ties.
The shower was dirty and could not hold a temperature. Toilet leaked all over our floor the night before we left and flooded our bathroom and part of our room. Bed was very comfortable and front Desk staff was nice. Restaurant was nice and good was good
Had a good stay for 6 night, 7 days. They offered free group yoga session on Christmas morning by the beach which was excellent. Food at Lava Lava beach club is quite good with live music on most evenings that was on par. Would surely go back
We stayed one night as we arrived 1 day too early to get into my timeshare. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was quite friendly. We had an excellent breakfast by the beach at the restaurant.
Lobby and restaurant are both nice and modern on the side. Hotel on the outside looks like a cheap motel. Located on the beach but not a beach you would want to lay out or swim. Room was "renovated" but bathroom only had cheap fixes and not a full renovation. Windows need to be replaced. Overall it gives an impression that it's not that secure - maybe it's the extra locks for the Windows and that they close the main entrance to the hotel rooms after 10pm for security. AC was miserably loud and the pools looked like they need to be refinished. Would not recommend.
The title says it all. If you want to feel transported back to beach blanket bingo, this is the place to do it. Rooms are comfortable, clean and stylish, and the staff friendly. Two small pools are on the grounds and the beach is right at the doorstep. The bar is not affiliated, but is attached to the lobby and has table seating right on the beach. Overall, a fun enjoyable stay. Would recommend.
Nice place! Clean, on the water, friendly staff, great happy hour, nice pool and grounds. Great stay. Don't really need the valet parking for check in tho
