great location for both north and south shores excurisions, hike the sleepling giant.

The condo unit is right on the beach with a fantastic view. The only drawback is it is right next to a busy highway. You won't notice this much after closing the windows (usually at night) and the sound of the surf off the balcony is fantastic. If you book through a rental agency, please sure to find out your room number and lock code before you arrive. You can still call a number after arriving but you are risking being able to get into your unit right away. The staff was very helpful and went overboard to help on our last day of stay when I got sick and they helped out in extending our stay for a 1/2 day as I recuperated and then caught our flight home. Would definitely stay here again. These units are individually owned and maintained and the unity had extras such as kids toys, umbrellas, binoculars and other items not normally found in hotel or condo units.

Noisy location right next to main highway. Air conditioning consisted of 2 swamp coolers and the only rooms with air are on the highway. The bedroom air conditioner was a joke - noisy and damp. Impossible to sleep all night with it on. The beach is for viewing only. The pool area is very small - not really good for kids. Otherwise the room was very well-stocked and clean. The location is central. I'd recommend it only if you plan to spend no time there except to sleep, you bring ear plugs and are used to no air conditioning.

We booked this as part of a package so we really did not know what unit we would get till we checked it. We had 106 a ground floor unit with a great ocean view and no steps to deal with. Unit was a little dated but very clean and well maintained. We found a few minor items missing and the staff replaced them right away. We loved this location being midway up the island for our day trips and beach adventures. Traffic could be a bit heavy from time to time with a bit of noise being the bedrooms are on the back traffic side of the units. But the sound of the surf made up for it. We would stay here again. Very Pleased!

We arrived Thurs. night at 9pm. There was no one there to let us in to our condo #305 and no code for the key box had been provided by [...]. We had to call the customer service line from the Condo property manager to get the code. Thanks god someone was there. We entered the condo and at first things appeared OK. After settling in and starting to unpack mu GF looked at the drawers and refused to put our things in because of the dirt. The towels smelled and there were feces on the toilet seat. We the tried to go to sleep and soon realized that the noise level was unbearable. I got very little sleep. This condo is probably situated on the noisiest spot on the whole island of Kauai. It is on the main highway and sounds like a freeway. After the second night of a week reservation we decided to leave. Thank god! The condo people took a while to get back to us, but eventually between them and [...]we got a refund of our last 5 nights.

A nice, clean condo, with a friendly + helpful manager. Our lanai was 20 feet from the surf. Great convenient location to get to anything on the island. Nearby good options for food.Pizza - Bobby V'sMexican - MonicosDinner: Hukilau LanaiLunch: Mermaid Cafe in Kapaa on the main street. (Looks a bit questionable, but fabulous satay plate and ahi burritos)Coffee: Icing On The Cake bakery next door - Buy some "Blue Bottle coffe from them - great!Ask [...]for the Condo unit # and code before getting there - that's needed for check-in, and aparently [...]doesn't always pass-on this info.

Pros: Great location - a step from a quiet, sandy beach and centrally located for shopping and hiking. The beach is not crowded and clean that I was able to do my morning runs bare-foot every morning during our stay. Friendly staff and prompt service. Cons: Occasionally, people built bonfires on the beach close to the building which caused smoky smell filling the living room and unable to leave the balcony doors opened in the evening so we can listen to the sound of waves. Also, the condo we stayed needs some updates but reasonably clean. During our stay, the bathroom lights flickered and set off the fire alarm. Also, the internet connection was not working. I called the building manager regarding the lights (electrian replaced breaker next day) and the internet service provider (modem replaced the following day), both concerns were addressed promptly. In our opinion the "pros" outweight the "cons", my husband & I would stay at Wailua Bay View again (perhaps in the same suite, since now we know the problems are fixed) on our next visit to Kauai.

Great place to stay on Kauai. Central location, right on the beach, WONDERFUL.

This is actually an apartment building not a hotel. It was great though. It was a little older of a building, but everything was clean and nice. It's located on a good beach for boogie boarding or fishing and like 1 mile from their little downtown area. I will stay here again next time I go to kaui.

The Wailua Bay View was perfectly located and we had a great view of the ocean from the lanei. The beach is a short walk from the condo and there are supplies in the condo to take to the beach (beach towels, chairs, umbrella, small ice chest, boogie boards). There's lots of good snorkeling at Tunnels and Ke'e beach(we brought our own snorkel gear). You can rent Kayaks at Hanalei and paddle down the river to the bay and play in the waves-that was great fun! The Princeville Ranch Adventure is lots of fun-ziplining above the jungle is a must. We also took a catamaran tour that was incredible (Holo Holo Charters). On this tour you get to snorkel, see the Na Pali coast, see dolphins and see turtles and lunch is included. Dining out can be pricey but there are some great restaraunts to visit. Every place we went had great, friendly service and we didn't have one bad meal. One of the best places was right across the street from the condo. It's a little Mexican restaraunt that serves some great seafood-the shrimp diablo is the best! Wahoo and the Lemon Grass Bar and Grill are also very good. There are little restaraunts all up and down the highway-just know that food on Kaua'i is expensive.

Our stay at the condo was nice for the first 2 nights, but then they started construction on the roof right out side our bedroom window! We brought our 1 year old son with us and it was horrible during his nap time. They would tear the tiles from the roof, send it down a shoot and it was go down crashing onto a dump truck. It was LOUD! Other than that, the condo was nice. Good location, in the middle of everything. Although it is a beach front condo, you can't access the beach directly through the condo's backyard. You need to walk down a flight of stairs and exit the condo, go onto the main highway for 30 feet and then you'll be safe onto the beach. It was pretty scary holding my 1 year old son walking towards oncoming traffic on a Kuhio highway, but we didn't have a choice. Other than the construction, it was a nice place to stay.

It was very relaxing and beautiful views of the beach. The old resturant broken down next to our room is a bit of an eye sore, otherwise all else was perfect. Friendly property manager [...] was so helpful and great guy..Really did his job. I had a late check out and they worked with me and it saved my butt...Thank you..I will come here again...Marilyn Murdock

We enjoyed our stay at the WBV. It was convenient to get around the island starting from there. The view was to die for...[...], the manager, was great. Everything was clean and tidy and very attractive. The unit itself could use some updating, but it had everything. A great deal for the money. Some reviews complain about the Shell station across the street being noisy, but we found it very handy, and we were in a unit on the 1st floor close to the road. The noise level from the road was minimal.

Perfect location on East shore from which to explore. Includes kitchen and couch-bed, washer-dryer, full kitchen, balcony, free-wifi and a separate bedroom. great place.
