Cool old hotel in the middle of town. It was just super cool
The Carrington is a wonderful, historic hotel that was a delight. Our rooms were spacious, and the en suite bathrooms modern and also spacious. We loved it here. Because the hotel itself opened in 1883, there is only one elevator, and it's an old-timey one that requires a bit of muscle to open and hold open while loading luggage. There are also 3 steps here, 2 steps there on the second floor, so beware if you have limited mobility.
Had a Colonial room with Ensuite. Excellent large, nice bathroom, original high ceilings and stained glass windows. Charming historical hotel, centrally located in Katoomba. Breakfast and Dinner in the Grand Dining room were nice.
Loved staying at the Carrington. Very conveniently located and an amazing grand old hotel. They just don't make places like this anymore and it's great to see how well-maintained it is. Breakfasts (included) were very good too. Sat out on the front porch for hours one evening just enjoying the atmosphere.
My son and I spent two nights there. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with our requests for local sightseeing information. There are several gathering rooms throughout the main floor for meeting with friends and family; they were all inviting and cozy. The dining room is exquisite! The breakfast that was included was, even though a cold buffet, incredible; I've never had such wonderful breakfasts! Next time I go to Katoomba, I will definitely stay there again (and then I'm going to search for the secret tunnel - ask staff about that one).
