I was suffering from cold and called to housekeeping bring some blanket but Mr. Subodh met me. He arranged a heater, blanket and warm water for me. That was fabulous. We will definitely visit the hotel once again. Thank you

KGH is a great hotel. Nice buffet breakfast to start the day each day. Beautiful courtyard to plan the day and relax at the end of the day. The rooms are very clean, nice soft beds, great bathroom with HOT showers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. KGH is a great respite for each evening after the chaos and noise of Kathmandu. We loved our stay and can’t recommend KGH enough. The manager, Rabin, knew us by name and always had a good story to share or recommendations for fun things to do and fine sites to see.

Kathmandu is a dust bowl of a city so the lush green garden at KGH is literally an oasis in the desert. However I was disappointed by the quality of my room......chilly and noisy and with a view out to a LOT of pigeon poop. The communal areas are much more enjoyable, so I would really recommend if you don't need a great sleep (which I really did).

I stay in Kathmandu Guest house between 27-31st Dec 2017. I was wonderfull time, food, shop are all walking distance. but the hotel it self very quiet. My room was upgraded to more spacious room with garden view. When i leave the hotel at 31st dec move to other hotel in other district, guest relation officer Rossni was helping me check my next exact hotel location by calling the hotel and make sure my driver is calling the hotel to get my luggage in the car, it was very sweet. I’ll be back!

A great location, my first room 406 had a hard lumpy bed, and looked out onto a brick wall covered in pigeon poo. Don’t have that room. 407 across the hall, is better. Plain and basic room, reasionably clean. Nice staff, very helpful. Except could do laundry for next day return. But there are plenty and cheaper places which offer false turn over in Thamel.

I beg to differ with Lonely Planet’s assessment of this hotel- “in dollar terms”. I believe the value is excellent! The rooms are very clean, including bathroom corners and tiles. -sheets are clean, crisp and not torn, -plumbing is intact, therefore no water on bathroom floor, -rooms are bright and lovely -breakfast is plentiful and tasty, -staff are friendly and extremely obliging, -quiet at night -definitely a convenient location for sightseeing, shopping, and the airport -lovely and restful garden in which to relax or have a drink or snack -a wonderful oasis in the middle of a busy city!

From the moment you walk through the gate you are greeted by courteous, friendly staff. Kathmandu is an assault on your senses & this hotel is just what is needed to recharge the batteries especially after a trek to Everest Base Camp.o

After having travelled quite extensivly in India and then Nepal, only having kind of indian food, being European, I so much longed for a salad. Could not have it, because of the risk of contamination, But when in the wonderful Kathmandu Guest House, I saw that the lettuce was washed in iodine, I said yes. Finally. How much I enjoyed it. Good dressing as well. Really enjoyed the salad as well as the tomatosoup.

I stayed at Kathmandu Guest House for about a week and their staff is really nice. Prem and Nabin went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kathmandu. Yes, it is not a budget hotel and you can find much cheaper options in Thamel but if you are looking for a good accommodation and great service then KGH would a nice bet for you.

I just finished a week long stay at KGH with my family. Both Prem and Nabin made our stay one of the most memorable experiences so far. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Right from greeting us every morning at breakfast, helping arrange for local travel, to sharing stories of KGH history by the warm fire, their hospitality was un-parallel to any we've experienced before. Their staff was just as warm, helpful and welcoming, always serving with a smile. The hotel is located right in the center of Thamel , even amidst the hustle bustle of the city KGH offered an astonishingly peaceful surroundings. The huge garden was a real treat. After the consistently amazing breakfast served each day, we would sip our yummy cups of coffee sitting out in the garden in the warm sun, enjoying a truly beautiful start to the day. The hospitality, the food, the stay, the amenities, the location ...literally everything was excellent! You can see the care reflect in the attention given to details. Would highly recommend staying here. Infact I am thinking of coming back just to stay at KGH :)
