First time here and my last. The hallways are dirty and worn. The room needs a remodel. The mattress was beat down so much on one side I had to sleep in the middle to keep from rolling off. Nothing like most Fairfield’s. Look at other options.
Not a good representation of Marriott properties. It’s a very outdated hotel. Carpeting and bathroom floor was dirty. We were on the first floor next to the pool and the noise from the pool echoed throughout our room. Breakfast needs improvement. Location is good, but the place really needs a refresh. Not recommended.
We stayed during Labor Day weekend while in town visiting family. Booked for 3 nights and 4 days. Hands down one of the most awful hotels I've stayed in. The carpet was disgusting. The room was musty. The bathroom was grimy. The towels were hard. Decor was outdated and broken. If we'd had another option we would have stayed somewhere else, but considering we saved up for months to afford this family trip we didn't have it in the budget to waste that much money. I wouldn't even let my kids walk on the carpet shoeless. Breakfast was tasteless and crowded. For being a family hotel across the street from an amusement park you'd think they would have more seating in the breakfast area. Mostly 2 person tables and crowded in a small room. On the 3rd morning someone next door, maybe even above us, was smoking weed. The odor was so incredibly strong in our room it was as if we ourselves were smoking. I went to the front desk to complain and she could have cared less. I tried to find a name or email to contact the manager about our experience and it was posted no where. Oh and the towels in the pool area were basically hand towels, maybe a hair bigger.
I stay in a lot of Marriott properties and usually they are good to great but occasionally one hits a big dud. That's what happened here. To characterize my room as "musty" would be a big understatement—"sour" was more like it—as if someone had thrown up in the room and it wasn't cleaned very well. If I had not arrived so late I probably would have either left or demanded a better room. (My original plan was to stay for two nights, but I left after one.) I tried opening the window—which would only open a few inches—and by morning it was somewhat better but still unacceptable. Carpet was absolutely filthy. Shower didn't work. No fitness room. There's really just nothing good to say about this property.
I stayed here for a business trip. It is in a great location, near many things to do in Kansas City. The breakfast was pretty good too. But, there was no automatic door opener or button so it made it very difficult bringing in luggage. Also, the website said the rooms had refrigerators and microwaves but we didn't have one. WhenI brought it to their attention, I was told that was the king suites only but that was not on the website. I will give the lady at the desk credit, she did locate a refrigerator for me and brought it to our room. We had to specifically ask for our room to be cleaned.
We took our grandchildren to Worlds of Fun over Labor Day weekend and stayed here for two nights. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff very friendly. They serve a breakfast in the morning that consists of eggs, sausage, oatmeal, juices, toasts, cereal and you can even make your own waffles. The dining room is a bit small especially but it works. They also have an indoor pool which the kids really enjoyed. The best thing about this hotel is the proximity to Worlds of Fun, it's only like three blocks away, great location.
It was really good. The only thing is the breakfast in the morning, if they anticipate a lot of people they should cook for that many. The room was clean, no complaints. It is across the street from the theme parks, right off of the freeway. It is a really convenient location.
We stayed here because it is one of the hotels right next to Worlds & Oceans of Fun. I learned this AM that it cost about $6 for an Uber to take you to Worlds & Oceana of Fun (if you are staying multiple days). * Room was very clean & the AC works VERY well!! * The breakfast (7-10 on weekends) was not as good as I had hoped. It was a continental breakfast with hot & cold items but when we got there at 8:50 it was very limited and they were not replacing items. The lady working had done wonderful keeping things clean and was very respectful. The breakfast area is very small with limited space. * They do NOT have a fitness center but they do give you a free pass to a gym nearby. Sadly, the lady at the front desk could NOT give simple instructions on how to get there. She ended up printing a map because when I asked her if I should turn left or right when leaving the parking lot she said,"I'm not sure." Overall, the hotel served its purpose of giving me a cozy and clean place to stay.
I stay at a lot of Fairfield Inns. This one needs some upgrades. Great location if you are visiting Worlds of Fun. Rooms are smaller than normal and beds seem outdated. Bathroom by pool was dirty and had no toilet paper. Walls are thin. We could hear every step of folks staying above us. Breakfast area is poorly designed making it hard to get food when there are a lot of people around. The staff are friendly which was a plus. Most Fairfield's have workout rooms but not this one. It has pool but no hot tub. If you are staying here to be close to amusement park it isn't too bad. If you stayed here for business I wouldn't recommend it.
I have stayed in MANY Marriott properties and this is the first one I have been unhappy with. Room furniture is very dated and needs major updating. Non-smoking hotel supposedly but the room reeked of smoke and was unacceptable. Convenient to where I needed to be, but I would choose another hotel in the area next time. Just OK.
