Wonderful accommodating staff
The property was under renovation during our stay. We had a day where water was shutoff starting at 8am. Pretty ridiculous to shut off water at this early morning hour.
Everyone was so nice. We had a great stay in Honolulu . Staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby is under construction. Great location so easy to walk everywhere.
We were disappointed that the property was more run down than expected based on the reviews. The carpets were old and dingy, bathroom very small. The bed in the first room we were given backed up to a wall of elevators. When we asked for a different room the bathroom was so small that a large person would not have been able to step into the shower. The water never warmed up either. We did find the location very convenient for enjoying the beach and restaurants, however we would pick a different hotel next time.

Clean but needs remodel, especially bathroom. The shower was a dark phone booth and the whole bathroom was 5’x5’ with old walls and old pipes.
A wonderful stay at Ohana East for our 5th trip to Waikiki! Yes, the rooms are dated but the room was very clean; I mean we don’t go to Hawaii to hangout in the room all day. The restroom is a tad tiny and does have a weird layout with the shower door hitting the toilet but again, it did the job - sink, toilet and shower. If you are looking for an ideal location hotel, this is one of them. Ohana sits right on the corner, across from an ABC and Waikiki Market which has groceries and prepared food like poke bowls, malasadas. There is also a bar right under the market which has live music every evening, my husband and I got a room with a balcony facing Kuhio (the city strip) which was wonderful to enjoy a pre-dinner drink out there and my morning coffee. Ohana has a coffee shop in the lobby for a quick morning coffee run. Ohana’s pool has just been revamped and it’s a great place to hangout and take in the sun if you want to skip a day at the beach. Something I would like to mention is that they don’t have drink/ food service at the pool, which is kind of a bummer, hopefully they rethink that. I heard that they will begin updating the rooms soon so if you don’t mind a dated clean room in an ideal location now is the time to book because once the new decor arrives it will probably show on our bill :) so take advantage now!! All of the employees were friendly and wonderful. Great stay, would definitely stay here again … We’ll see you soon Waikiki!

If you are looking for a fancy hotel/resort, this is NOT the place to stay. If this hotel/orbits had given us a heads up that it was under construction before we booked it, we would have booked another hotel. We had to pay for resort fees each day when there was no resort at the hotel. The pool was closed-which we knew ahead of time, but to charge us for the resort was ridiculous. They Never even told us about a "sister hotel" where we could have used a pool. We hard staff tell other people the day before we left. We got there on a Monday and by Tuesday, they left us a letter advising "emergency work" would be done on thursday, and the power was going to be out from 9am-9pm. We made plans to be out of the hotel as long as possible and returned back at 9pm with the power still out. They did not turn the power back on until 10pm. We had to be up at 4 am for our flight the next morning so it was super annoying not to be able to packup until we had power. The staff was nice enough to let us know they would refund us for the inconvenience which I assumed we'd be a refund for at least half of what a day cost.. NOPE, they refunded us alright, $50 dollars!!! Without the access of using their stove or microwave, that didn't even help the cost of food for 5 people for the day! This was our very first time in Hawaii and we will not be returning to this hotel.
No pool, power outage fo 13 hours, people coming in to measure countertops, the rooms smelled of mold and were very uncomfortable lumpy beds, lots of construction, and very noisy. All around bad experience. I blame Orbits for all this, you should have NEVER book this hotel for our family. I was there to celebrate the end of my cancer treatments, this was a huge disappointment. NEVER again will I book anything with Orbits!!!
