This small, clean, friendly hotel in a beautiful setting is perfect place to start your exploration of Joshua Treee National Park. Only a 5 minute drive to the northern entrance of the park, and to the 3 mi. roundtrip trail leading to 49 Palms Oasis. (An easy , beautiful hike, I highly recommend). Our room was spacious, clean, very private and quiet, with a full kitchen(!) and a little patio with 2 chairs and a table to drink your coffee and watch the sunrise. The yard is a desert paradise, artistically appointed by many different flowering cactuses and plants, has a real Southwest feel. The pool is very clean(not heated), the hot tub is great, but beware, it is operating between 5-19 PM only.Really good to soak in there after a day hike. It is truly a place home away from home, perhaps because it is a small, privately owned motel, and the owner takes great care of and great pride in this little treasure. Go there! You will love it.

I adored this motel for several reasons: great location- very close to the Oasis Entrance of Joshua Tree Nat. park, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, good kitchen, pleasant owner/manager, clean, beautiful plants and decor on the property, small size. I prefer to support local, small businesses. This hotel only had 7 rooms. I regret not taking advantage of the pool. It looked refreshing and the area was inviting. But, I hiked a lot, and at the end of the day, I just wanted a shower (had good water pressure), clean sheets and a comfy bed. There was a supermarket nearby to get supplies to make meals (saving money).

The Harmony is a 6 unit roadside gem that hearkens back to the days of the motor courts of the 50's and 60's. Each room is uniquely furnished reflecting the owner's eclectic sense of style. The rooms are not fancy but are comfortable and clean. Each unit includes an outdoor seating area perfect for enjoying a glass of wine at sunset The common area features a whimsical collection of garden art. The pool and spa area is well screened from the road providing a private area to relax and cool off after a day in the desert. Ash, our host and the Harmony's owner, greeted us personally, showed us our room and made us very welcome during our two-day stay. If you want a pleasant and refreshing change from the bland uniformity of the big chains, the Harmony is for you.

The Harmony Motel may not be for everyone, but it is definitely great if you want a kitchy place to relax and enjoy some time with friends. The owner is lovely and accommodating. There is coffee in the morning and an area with a refrigerator and microwave to heat up your leftovers from dinner for your breakfast. The pool and spa are clean. We had a great time chatting under the stars in the spa in the evening and then drinking coffee at the table outside of our room in the morning. The view is of the mountains that surround Joshua Tree National Park. We were so pleasantly surprised by this small jewel in the desert.

We had a great stay at this beautiful little hotel! We will definitely be back :)

Very friendly and helpful staff! It was nicè to have the hot tube. One thing was the mattress was very hard. We will however stay here again.

Cool little retro motel -quiet-would definitely come back when I'm in Joshua tree again

Harmony Motel is such a cute little place to stay in SoCal especially if your main destination is Joshua Tree National Park (because it's very close by). The rooms are clean and tidy, there's a table and chairs out on the porches in front of each room, a pool and a common room with a few tables, a fridge/freezer, and microwave where they serve complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings.

My entire stay was pleasant. I was truly expecting a cheap hotel, but instead I found a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, clean rooms, and even a pool to lounge by. Overall I had an amazing experience. Let me explain. The lady at the front desk told me about hiking 49 Palms Oasis, and I ended up getting lost and found myself miles away from my car. She kindly drove me back to my car! Now that is customer service! To her, Harmony Motel is her passion and she puts forth effort to make everyone's stay comfortable. You can't even find that at a Marriott! So don't look at any other hotel- book this one!

The Harmony Motel is a great hotel if you are visiting Joshua Tree. The customer service was excellent... The manager attended promptly to all requests. Left behind a cell phone and they took the time to not only check twice for it, AND waiting while I tried to call it so they could hear it ring, but when they finally found it under the bed while cleaning, they called me right away to arrange to have it shipped back to me. It isn't a fancy place but with great customer service like that I will always recommend the Harmony!

A chilled out motel in a great spot to go and explore the Joshua Tree National Park.

I booked the room through [...], I then got a call from harmony that they were overbook so I could not stay there for that weekend. I decided to stay in my friends room which he was able to book and they gave us a hard time for having an extra person staying in the room.

Overall it's a nice motel, clean, good looking, with a nice swimming pool and spa. Only thing: the air conditioning struggles to refresh the room and this can be annoying in the middle of the desert. I?m not saying it doesn' work at all, but yu will still suffer a little to much warm.

Thank you for the awesome review Judith! It is our aim to provide the best experience for all our guests and we strive to make our rooms comfy, functional, and we put true desert personality in it with decoration and art made by local artists. Happy to hear the kitchenette and outdoor patio area was of good use to you. We actually turn on our hot tub at 3 PM (which is the check in time when one arrives at the hotel), we will correct the signs to reflect this soon! We look forward to being your host again sometime in the future. Guest Relations
