Stayed here for 1 night. I must say that all the staff at this hotel are friendly and welcoming. However since my lasy stay a few years ago alot has gone downhill fast. The walls in the room had marks everywhere. The window sills need replacing as they are completely cracked and tearing apart. The sofa in the room look horrible and dirty. I didnt sit on it. Tye bathroom was ok though. Breakfast area has gone downhill. Food not replaced. Tables not made. Swimming pool ladders both broken. Fountain next to stairs not working. I found 2 rusty screws in the pool. The pool itself had all sorts of insects floating around. This hotel has been neglected by maintenance.
The hotel is located in downtown Pretoria and is linked to a shopping mall which can be reached via the hotel. This is very convenient for both shopping and meals. The rooms are modelled on the British Holiday Inn Express which means they don't have a refrigerator or bath which may be problematical for some. The hotel only supplies one glass per room which is a bit inconvenient and not really explicable. The staff were friendly, welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to provide a good service. All interactions we had with staff were positive and their advice was always useful. Parking is on Level 6 of the mall's parking lot and this means getting luggage access to the hotel if arriving by car is very easy and requires little effort. I enjoyed the stay here and would stay again if in the city. A good examples of a Holiday Inn Express with outstanding staff.
The room was a fair size and very quiet. The buffet breakfast had a super selection and refreshed frequently. The bar had a nice selection in the afternoon and evening. The mall provided a place to stretch your legs - pick up anything left behind and get a meal (the hotel has no room service). The mall is safe with excellent security.
The staff was very welcoming and accommodative. The rooms were clean and have all the relevant facilities. The overall service is fantastic! My stay was indeed quite comfortable and the fact that the establishment is within the same premises as a mall, is a great extra. Despite the close proximity to the mall, the noise level are quite low. The swimming pool area is so craftily designed and quite modern, very exciting to be around with a tinge of a festivity mood all the way.
The Management has met the challenges of it's location head-on and succeeds to be the best experience of inner-city budget business hotels, with a very welcoming personal touch. From GM Reinhardt Saayman and all the staff are keen for their clients to have a great experience. We have been taking groups to this hotel for some years now, but this year we really put pressure on them with 3 large groups of 64,74,81 arriving late, with a late night dinner, departing early, nothing that they could not handle. We love the ever friendly staff,in group sales, front desk, bar, kitchen cleaning staff, security and porters all make our client's experience happy. When my client is happy, I'm happy. THANKS!
I needed to be in Pretoria for two nights last week and accommodation was supplied by a government institution. I feared the worst and was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Pretoria-Sunnypark. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and efficient and the hotel breakfast was excellent. Rooms, were clean and comfortable and altogether an enjoyable stay. I will certainly be back should the need arise.
Arrived quite late. Reception staff was very helpful and pleasant. Room was good enough; no complaints. Interaction with staff was very good as well. Next morning, I arrived when breakfast was almost over. However, the kitchen staff were very very helpful in making sure I had something to eat and did not feel rushed. That was very much appreciated indeed. The hotel is located right in the city centre, within walking distance of several amenities. However, this presents its own risks, esp. at night though that in itself is not a problem since it would be the same in any other city and one can go about their business without too much of a problem, esp. if you remain vigilant. Overall, teh hotel provides good value for money.
We were 17 officials from India on our official visit and stayed two nights at this hotel. Hotel is connected to a shopping mall complex which is very nice to have shopping without going outside. Its a good affordable hotel. Breakfast at hotel was nice. There is no complementary drinking water bottles in the hotel room but I found it everywhere in South Africa that there is no trend to providing complementary water bottles to the customers in the hotel. Overall a good experience at this hotel. There are many shopping places which are not very far from hotel. There should be precautionary measures followed by the customers while going outside in the night. One suggestion for the hotel management that they should install toilet -faucet in the toilet rooms as south Asians do not use toilet paper and use water for higene purpose. So hotel management should keep both to make it suitable to all its customers.
Well the price is Ok but its nothing more than a quick stayover . should remain a business hotel and not ideal for tourists never mind overseas tourists . Rooms were Ok . its awkward to enter with larger groups . also one does not really feel safe in the area ....staff was good
