The service... I thought it was something unexplainable of how excellent it was. I was telling my friend that it was like they were robots trained to do the same thing greet you every time you walked by them. We called and immediately they were at our front door. The breakfast selection was great! The pool was to die for and our overall experience was excellent we will be returning to this location :)

We planned 6 days in Bali and I was at a complete loss as to which region and hotel (more than one?) to stay in. Sound familiar? Well, I did a ton of research, went on a few ten best lists, and found the Ayana Resort and Spa. The villas were too expensive for me for the full 6 nights, so I chose the suites. From arrival, it was a resort to behold. At the gate, security checked our status; that was reassuring. When we arrived, the bellhop and welcome agent immediately welcomed us warmly and gave us flower garlands. Such a nice touch. We were ushered in to the hotel lobby where we were seated at a table while cold towels and icy tea were given to us while we waited for our paperwork to be processed. As we looked around, we could see the property was amazing. Steps away from the beach, with water fountains and ponds everywhere. You could tell that this was a special resort (formerly the Ritz-Carlton).There were lines of outsiders (non-resort guests) arriving by bus just to enjoy the property and eat/drink at the Roc bar. (more on that later). After we were checked in, we and our luggage were brought to our room. It was a nice room, can't say it was too special. Had a nice garden-view and sliver of ocean view. Our 3 days at Ayana were spent at the fantastic Indo restaurant Damar. There were Italian and Mexican options but no way was I going to try that here. No need, the food at Damar was so good we came back the second night for the exact same dishes. The Rock B

A very good hotel with excellent attentive staff. Highly recommended

Very nice Hotel a little expensive compared to area and other Hotels

Famous for the views and RockBar, the Ayana delivers on overall luxury big hotel experience. No bargains to be found here (compared to Bali regular prices elsewhere in island...) but overall fair prices for this level of experience (alcoholic drinks ~$10-15, probably double of any other place we visited). I would recommend rooms with direct ocean views on the far ends of the main part of the hotel. I’d say the rooms in the Utawala (sp?) Wing ending in 51-71 are the best (look over quiet small golf course and directly towards the water). Middle section overlooks busy restaurants/pools. End of Jimbaran wing gives city/Kuta direction views... with no sunset in August. Our room 2428, was in center section of Utawala Wing that projected out towards the ocean a bit with sunset view but ocean only visible when on terrace. The odd number rooms in this middle area did NOT have sunset views and faced the pools. Look at resort map and this should make sense. We did the Dance Performance Dinner located in the Rimba property. We really enjoyed it (food was awesome). Staff are super friendly (like all Balinese we met) who went over the top to make sure guests were happy.

It was a wonderful stay, the hotel staffs were very friendly, and the hotel was also well maintained and very scenic.

Ayana Resort is truly amazing. Spectacular views, friendly and helpful staff, and overall just a wonderful experience. Everything was great, would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.

I would just like tell you how impressed we were with our stay at Ayana! Our stay was from May12 - May 20, 2017. Although we were somewhat distracted by the construction noises of the beautiful new wedding chapel on some of our mornings overall, it’s easy to forget after enjoying the sheer magnitude of breathtaking beauty that encompasses both Ayana and Rimba! Everyone who we made contact with directly that works for Ayana and Rimba were amazingly friendly, polite and helpful, including anyone in passing who would greet us with a warm Good Morning, Good afternoon, Good Evening, Have a pleasant day! Etc. I would like to name a few that really made our experience memorable. Cliff side pool attendants Pande and the ladies went above and beyond to make sure we had a very enjoyable day. Didiana went out of his way to write me a birthday card and also took great care of us on a couple days at the main pool. Erma and our housekeeping / room service staff were tremendous at keeping our room tidy and restocked with goodies and the very kind surprise gifts of birthday cakes for our special days, along with fruit, chocolate and goodies! Our massages and spa experiences were among the best we’ve ever had! I’d like to mention how impressed I was with Arik and her talents as a massage therapist and as a very kind and just a wonderful person to have had the chance to meet. We also enjoyed the fun run with the very kind gym attendant who also ran the 197 stairs to Kubu beach with us!

Best resort and Spa on the Island of Bali. Spa is fantastic. Aquatic pool one of a kind in the world! Over 17 fabulous restaurants and bars! Including priority access to Rockbar! Best place to watch sunset on the Island! Breakfast every morning outstanding! Try Dava breakfast for 5 dollars more. Simply the best food! Beautiful grounds, perfect private beach, will set up cheap day trips and drivers to do anything - anywhere on the Island, and sunsets are out of this world! We booked six nights originally and extended our stay another 6 nights. They also gave us great rates. Staff is superb and will bend over backwards to make your stay fabulous! Thank you Ayana for making our dreams come true! Truely the best resort on the Island of the Gods!

Rock Bar overrated... long lines to get on elevator, drink prices quite high.

nice hotel SPA and beautiful view, the rock bar is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will choose club room and villa again ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~so love it

We came here for a wedding trip and this hotel is perfect for that. BUT - as soon as I work, I need internet everyday. The cost of internet in this hotel is just amazing - 8 USD per hour (!). - make sure, that your order hotel with a breakfast. Otherwise you will have to pay about 40USD per person per day. Ex. if you go for 10 days with your wife you wil have to pay - 10*40*2 another 800 USD (!) - the spa at the hotel is too expensive. For ex. the cheapest massage costs about 100 USD per hour. We found solution - there is Prana Spa at Seminyak. Their price is twice lower, and the quality is perfect. In addition, if you order a package they send their transport for you to go there and back for free. - you you like to swin at the ocean - the hotel beach is not the perfect place for that. Lots of rocks and stones. There are several nice pools at the hotel, but the one with the sea water inside is always overfilled, so you have to wake up earlier to get a place there - guys at the fruit desk on breakfast, while we stayed there - were sophisticated in hiding of the most expensive fruits from hotel guests (mangos and mangosteens). That situation is not nice for a five star hotel Actually, listed things are the only minuses in that hotel. Generally speaking - the hotel is worth that.

Ayana is a lovely resort. The grounds are very large and well taken care of. The pools are fabulous. We liked Padi for the Indian food. All the restaurants are expensive but not unreasonably so for a 5* resort. Rock bar is fabulous. We initially stayed in a deluxe ocean view room but after the first night we upgraded to a villa. The rooms were way too noisy and we would not have enjoyed the vacation as much staying in the ocean view room. The villa was wonderful - very large and beautiful, albeit very pricey. Overall staff were fantastic - very friendly and always trying to be helpful.

The hotel is phenomenal and the staff fantastic. The breakfast buffet is out of this world, catering to any style of breakfast one may eat. The drinks at the bars are perfect and the Rock Bar is a definite must at sunset. The pools are clean. Kids sometimes are a pain at the pool. The pool by the ocean doesn't allow kids under the age of 12. Get there early because limited chairs.
