In fairness I'm probably a little bit bias as I have been coming here each year for quite a while and it suits me down to the ground. The staff look after you superbly and nothing is too much trouble and as a single traveller it means a lot. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast menu has been revamped since I was here in March and the 'extras' have now been brought into the inclusive menu. The self service toasters have also been dispensed with! The hotel is a bit off the beaten track and you will need transport if you wish to see the island. I'll be back in the spring :)
What a great hotel. Made to feel very special throughout. Good - Attentive service. The team really make their guests feel welcome, without being too intrusive. - Excellent food. Breakfast & dinner did not disappoint at all. - Quality of ingredients of food & beverages were exceptional. - Rooms were very modern with nice little touches such as buttons for blinds. Nice size and very comfortable. - Location is excellent for airport / golf courses. - plenty of parking - hotel stay was great value for money Not so good. - dinner prices for al a carte & market menus were slightly excessive, but to be expected for a michellin star restaurant. Summary Will definitely try to visit again. Hotel should be 5 star!!
Beautiful in every way. Clean throughout, gorgeous room, very helpful and courteous staff in every department. We will certainly return again. The sea views, the immaculate gardens, gym, indoor swimming pool are just perfect, as is the local beach would definitely recommend this friendly hotel
This was our second visit to this hotel and our fourth to Jersey. We had certain qualms about revisiting the hotel after some critical reviews we had read on this website from early in the summer. However, we had a lovely time and the hotel is just as good as it was two years ago. The staff are without exception friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. The Ocean restaurant exhibited none of the inefficiencies referred to in some early reviews. We were offered both a la carte or table d’hote menus. On four of the nights the only red meat that was offered was venison and the menus hardly altered at all over the five nights. We feel that there should be more variety from within these two menus especially for people who stay for a few nights. But we had a super holiday!
The art deco Atlantic Hotel near St Brelade is set among immaculate gardens overlooking sweeping St Ouen’s Bay, and is a four-star haven of elegant, understated luxury. The friendly staff go out of their way to cater to your every whim and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Although quite upmarket, everything about the hotel is down to earth and geared to ensuring the guests have the best possible stay. The Atlantic also has one of only four Michelin-starred restaurants in Jersey. I'd never tried that sort of fine dining before but once experienced it’s never forgotten. Chef Mark Jordan’s Mojito dessert – a concoction of chocolate ganache, Bacardi jelly and mint ice cream on an intense citrus foam – was perhaps the culinary highlight of my entire life. The Atlantic isn’t cheap, but there are some great deals to be had, Michelin dining included. Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing pampered break.
The exterior of the hotel appears deco in style as you sweep up the front drive and peer over the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Bay. Inside the interior in light and airy, with a quality feel. Check-in was smooth and friendly. The room was designed to maximise space and give a gorgeous focus to the bay window displaying the panoramic view out to sea. All the team are friendly and try to interact constantly, including the behind the scenes team. Service is certainly a differentiator at this hotel. Sometimes it just needs dialing down a touch. We experienced several service problems at breakfast on our first day. Having given that feedback to the duty manager it was put right on the subsequent days. The quality and variety of the breakfast food was good. But they teased guests with an empty bread board for the first few days until bread was finally put out on our last day; it tasted delicious and I'd love to have had it for the whole of our stay. The leadership team could make more of the restaurant during the off peak season, by encouraging guests with a table d'hote menu. We did not see many guests dinning and that's a shame. This is an expensive hotel and I think drink prices are rather too high. All in all a quality stay at a lovely hotel.
Small luxury hotel, absolutely brilliant stay. We stayed for 3 days and the staff from the front house to management and restaurant staff were superb. The family room was overlooking the outside pool with great views of the Atlantic and the Rocco tower.
I have been meaning to write this review for ages . We went for a weeks holiday in June 2017 . We absolutely loved the hotel , the area and the Island. The hotel has a sublime position overlooking the Atlantic . As you would expect it is posh , but very relaxed and comfortable. The standards are very high throughout . For is excellent . Superbly cooked and presented as you would expect in a Michelin starred place . But everything ids top quality and not over fussy or food. The ingredients do take centre stage. Breakfast are first class too. WE had a second floor room with a small balcony overlooked the gardens and out to sea -- Gorgeous. Service is exceptional , very friendly but not intrusive. We bought a package from the hotel that included dinner and car hire which made it pretty good value i think. Loved , loved the place. We will be returning
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. On arrival, the welcome we received was so warm and genuine, and any encounters with reception staff throughout our stay carried on like this. We were shown to our room and given a brief run down of its facilities, then left to enjoy it. The room, like the rest of the hotel, was lovely. Very clean and immaculately decorated, fairly modern in style. Rooms have a small balcony, just wide enough to stand on, and we had a golf course view which was nice. Im certain the views from the sea-view rooms would have been lovely, as the views out across the water from the hotel grounds are stunning, and the hotel is in a brilliant position. Molten Brown toiletries in the rooms was also a big plus! Bed was comfortable, and a selection of pillows is available. Breakfast here was a slight let down, with service often a little slow starting, with a bit of a wait for tea and coffee even, and orders were often getting a bit mixed up both for ourselves and those around us. We noticed that things were not being replenished, such as the bowls and the juices, depending on when you came to eat. The food was good, however, and can't be faulted. Dinner was also nice, however not an extensive menu and also a bit of awkward seating arrangements. We did not eat in the michelin star Ocean restaurant, and so the "standard" diners eat at sofas and small tables in another open area. Some of the tables were very low with sofas to sit on, which wouldn't be comfortable for everyone to sit and lean over for a big meal. We did this for lunch, which wasn't as bad. It is a lovely relaxed area, but better seating at the tables would have been preferable so we only ate dinner here once. Food was quite expensive also. The pool and jacuzzi area were lovely and clean, quiet and relaxing, with full facilities in the changing rooms including sauna. You can take a nice short walk around the grounds and take in the views, and some of the longer countryside walks are easily accessible from the hotel. All in all this is a fantastic hotel, and we would certainly choose to stay here again if we returned to Jersey, mainly due to the beautiful ocation and setting. A very pleasant stay, but with a little room for improvement in our opinion.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Stayed for our 15th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Such friendly staff who make you feel like you’re the only guests, beautiful views and relaxed surroundings, all with a top quality restaurant on site. Ideal location for exploring the South West of the island with several stunning beaches a short walk away, and golf course next door. Hotel is relatively small, but that just adds to the intimate friendly atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor heated pools, relaxing lounge area and terrace perfect for enjoying a coffee and the view. It’s the staff that make this place though - so personal, and nothing is too much trouble, they went above and beyond to make this a special weekend for my wife and I. Thank you to all at The Atlantic, we’ll definitely be back.
