Check in was prompt and easy, the hotel smelled very clean, and was very clean. The sofa bed not so great but served it's duty. If I had stayed longer there are a lot of places to pick from to have a meal out. Took us about 10 minutes to drive into Manhattan. The breakfast was individually wrapped snacks, so not really a 'breakfast' to me. But coffee was great. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, the suite was wonderful, definitely a bargain, a good one at that. Will definitely consider when visiting again. Thank you!
The first room they gave me was dirty, floor was sticky in the kitchen area and the bed was not made dirty sheets and a wet towel draped on the pillows. Desk attendant did not apologize for the mess and seemed annoyed he had to reassign me to another room. Second room was much better as far as cleanliness goes. Bad part is in the morning I had to run the shower for almost five full minutes for the water to become warm, and it never got hot. The sink in the bathroom never got past cold and I left it running while I got dressed to see if hot water would ever come out which it did not. This is my second bad experience in a row with this chain, in different states, and wont make the mistake again.
Staff was pleasant but overall condition of the hotel was poor; our bathtub was cracked in two places and despite being in a non-smoking room there were cigarette burn marks all over the bathroom floor and vanity. We booked the room for two adults and two children and when we went to make up the pull out sofa for the kids there was a huge stain on the mattress, there was only one dirty pillow, and no additional blankets. We were unable to use the pull out because it was so dirty and due to the lateness of the hour and a full day of travel we needed to just get the kids in bed so we all slept in the bed. I would not go to this hotel again or any of their other facilities nor would I ever recommend anyone stay there.
The location is ideal when trying to save money and traveling into new york city. The price was about a third of what the hotels in the city are going for, but there is free parking and the 320 bus that goes straight into port authority picks up just a few feet from the entrance. The room is a bit dated, and the bed we had sagged pretty bad in the middle.
this was the second time we stayed at the homestead suites at secaucus. You get what you pay for, there were only two pilows for the the bed and pull out couch, staff wasn't overly friendly. the continential breakfast was nothing but some pre packaged pastries, bagles, and some badly bruised apples.
