The staff were great and the rooms were very clean. The best part was the complimentary real breakfast. Definitely will stay there again

They didn't correct the problems that I complained about. Many dirty places. The free breakfast is not worth eating. We went out to eat two days. The porch light didn't burn. TV channels were all fuzzy. The air condition was not on when we arrived and it was hot. We have been going to this hotel for almost 40 years but not again. I was very upset about the condition of the hotel. I showed the dirt on the porch to the desk clerk and still nothing was done. We arrived on Friday and things were the same when we left on Monday. They need a new Manager. .

The beds were hard and sheets and linens were wrinkled as if they weren't clean. The room smelled stale and moldy. The breakfast was adequate the first day however portion sizes were 1/2 the second day. The night manager took 20 minutes to answer the phone/door bell.

Ok for a night, breakfast was good. Remodeled motel that was avg on cleanliness. Bed was so so. For one night it wasn't bad and not too far from the blue ridge parkway.

Room was nice, clean. Needed a bath mat in the bathroom. Breakfast was ok , a little stingy with the bacon. Over all a nice stay for the price, great staff.

Great staff. Clean room. Renewed my trust in using this hotel chain

This hotel is in need of a major facelift and renovation. However, it is relatively clean. It was quiet and I was able to sleep okay.

We were actually looking for something closer to Damascus, VA and to the Virginia Creeper Trail. But due to a Nascar race in Bryson City, we discovered, all hotels were booked up. Turns out, Jefferson is not a bad drive at all to Whitetop, VA. Plus, we had never been to Jefferson and it is a really cute, old town. Didn't realize when I booked it, but this is an old motel which has been renovated to Best Western standards. They have done a really good job bringing the rooms and facility up to date. I'm sure in it's hey-day, this was the place to stay in the area. It is directly across from Mt. Jefferson (fun hike!). It would be a great view, except at some point a garage of some sort built right across the road from it, tainting the view a bit. We stayed in room 212 on the second floor and it was comfortable, clean and quiet. The old air conditioner was a bit noisy on high. You could not turn off the outdoor light, so had to put something over the curtain top to block the light at night (might not bother some). The door threshold, could see daylight coming underneath which also let heat in/cold air out. That needs some work. We used a towel against the bottom of the door to block the draft. And the carpet could use a shampooing. That being said, it still was a very nice renovation. A hot breakfast comes with the room and it was delicious! I could tell the biscuits and gravy were homemade! The staff are friendly. Would be hard to beat the value for the price in the area if you aren't opposed to motels.

The staff was very friendly. When you need to have a question they could help and tell the local place to visit. We will stay a this Inn again!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. We especially enjoyed the mountain view.

Staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. The floor might have been a more comfortable alternative to the bed. Included full breakfast was "puney".

We were greeted graciously and everyone was very cordial. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant and the service was great. The room was very comfortable even though it was cold and windy outside. The beds were great. If the occasion rises for us to return to Jefferson, we certainly would plan to stay in your motel.

The only reason the Eldreth Best Western has three stars is that they have added the little extras to the rooms -- hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. (Even so, the mini-fridge had been permanently removed from our room.) The bathroom vent was very noisy and could not be shut off; the air conditioner was noisy; the room was small and cramped; and the property in general looks like an older motel that has been remodeled, but not recently. If you see their folksy ads claiming "rocking chairs on the front porch", be warned that there are only rocking chairs on the upper level of the two-story wing (about 1/3 of the total rooms), that there is one per room, and that they are in fact on the narrow general access balcony, where everyone walks to reach their rooms. Breakfast was "full" and "hot", as claimed, but it is not buffet-style and all-you-can-eat, as at most motels. Instead, you choose from three selections, and the food is brought to your table.

Shopping was within walking distance. What is it with the mountain motels that small dogs aren't allowed to stay (with a fee, of course)? The ice machines should have been closer. Breakfast was wonderful and free.

a very nice breakfast!

The overall trip was very nice. The location of the hotel was very nice with a wonderful view of the mountains. The size of the room was great. I would recommend this location to family and friends.

Thank you for staying with us, and taking the time to fill out a review. I'm glad you enjoyed the breakfast. I'm sorry cleanliness was not quiet up to your standards, it was a holiday weekend and our staff was stretched a bit thin as a result. We will endeavor to do better and hope to see you again in the future.
