Lived up to everything it said and some. Only one problem, which was out of the hotel's control, the tv wasn't working properly (the service provider's fault) Would definitely stay here again. Everyone saying no shower in room, where are the pictures? There definitely was a shower in my room.
easy to locate by ehailing car.basic hotel.no shower cap as complimentary.kettle is inside room except the ironing stuff need to request but fast response. still can smell the cigarette smoke.i doubt about the smoke detector whether is it working to get to Thamrin city mall or grand indonesia mall by grab is idr13k as of november 2017. to mangga dua area is around idr35k.to airport is idr110k including the toll. it is better to stay at the hotels which are located along the tanah abang halves rather than the other halves of the wahid hasyim street.take the junction at sarinah mall as the mid point of the street. the tanah abg halves is less congested except during the school holidays. the best spa for my opinion in jakarta is just beside the hotel.the famous nasi uduk puashati ibu tati and nasi uduk zainal are 2mins walking.
Upon checking in, we could not park our car due to some staff using the area for aerobic. Security just pointed us to park the car far from the hotel. We were upset. But we informed the security that we would check in, and he let us park our car in edge of the road exactly front of the hotel. Check in process quite fast. But once receptionist swiped my debit mandiri card twice was not success. A bit strange it didn’t work while I still have money there. I assured the staff that it was not deducted, and said no. And I just paid by debit bca card then. But when I checked to the bank in the following days, bank said it was deducted but the money had been return as bank staff showed me the proof, and done now. Breakfast menu is variety (good), compared to Juno hotel wahid hasyim. Lobby area a bit mess, many bags and other things placed not nicely surroung reception desk. Room is good and worthy.
I booked the hotel through booking.com it is a budget hotel and I had to pay for breakfast as they said it’s only the room so after I paid for two days and the next morning when I am having my breakfast staff came and informed me breakfast not included and I said I am already paid and he said it’s not showing up so I had to wait another half hour to confirm that I paid. And the room I was given don’t have a shower, bad experience
The hotels is located near the central park of the city, right by Sarinah Mall and Tanah Abang market, and is quite convenient. I had a hard time getting decent wifi service in my room that was more than a bar though, so it was incredibly difficult to check my email. The room was basically a standard favehotel, though mine smelled like smoke a bit even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Fixtures were pretty old, and service from staff was quite slow. And it was cheap and I got the room at the last minute, so I guess if you have no other choice you can find a room here.
We took three rooms for 5 nights, it was a family retreat. The hotel location was excellent. Near the main Jalan MH Thamrin and you can reach at its junction with Jalan Wahid Hasyim about 5 minutes. From there you will find McDonalds, Burger King and some coffee outlets. Sabang if you are keen for street food is just another 5 to 10mins walk. From McDonalds, you can walk to Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia for another 30 minutes. Or you can just take a BlueBird taxi. Traveling around was easy and I used BlueBird app to get MPV taxi as there were 6 of us. Otherwise normal taxis were plenty waiting at the hotel. Btw, every Sunday is a car-free day along Jln MH Thamrin until 11am. So enjoy it if possible with your timings. On the hotel, the room condition was so-so but the most frustrating part was the extremely low pressure shower and poor water heating. Shower was not pleasant at all. Pillow was ok but I need to have 2 to sleep. Lift; only 1 and accommodate about 5 people at one go as beyond that will be overloaded although the sign said max 10 or 13 people; don't quite remember. Don't forget to ask for non-smoking room. We were allocated to a smoking room initially on the reason of being fully booked but changed later once we inspected the room. Breakfast was available as part of my room package and the spread was reasonable for the price. Both western and Indonesian foods were available together with egg station for omelette or sunny side up. I like the choice of "sambal" offered and I paired it with nasi goreng. There was also bubur ayam and its condiments. Yes, bubur ayam/chicken porridge was good. All in all, it goes back to your acceptance level and match it with the kind of price you pay. If you want slightly higher price hotel, you can have it from next building just beside this hotel. There were also cake shop with nice ice-cream to try; The Harvest and Taman Sari Royal Heritage spa next to hotel building. Street foods in front of the hotel were plenty but I like best the gado-gado lontong!
First of all I'll start with the location 500mtrs away from tanah abang market which is a plus for those who are coming for shopping , and another 300mtrs u find lotus mall and most of the international food chains so nothing to worry about the food When it comes to the room it's very average and little small rooms Staffs as always Indonesians are the best Budget hotel
At the beginning and end of my most recent trip to Jakarta, I arrived, and ended my stay at Favehotel Wahid Hasyim. The staff is very attentive and helpful. I had a bit of a snafu in early booking, but they were very quick to respond and resolve the issue. This time, I stayed in their new building, It was quite pleasant, and surprisingly quiet. This hotel has a wonderful breakfast spread. It was amazing variety to say the least. The hotel had great wifi connection, And it is perfectly located to many businesses. And seems to be very few tourists but mostly local business travelers. It's close to many restaurants, shopping etc. I will likely stay here again on my next trip.
Strategic located hotel at Jalan Wahid Hashim. Room rate is reasonably priced. Very clean room and toilet although the room size is a bit too small for a deluxe room. I guessed the word deluxe is referring to a newer block next to the existing building housing the lobby and all the superior rooms. A small setback was my shower room had drainage problem and kept on flooding once I start bathing. Around 500m walking distance to Sarinah complex and has bus stop at both directions. It is where you can take take Hop On Hop Off double decker tourist bus free of charge. There is even a K-Mart mini mart at the hotel's premises where you can buy basic items such as mineral water and toiletries. There is also ATM machines located just outside of the hotel! Just beside the hotel on the left hand side is a high end Taman Sari spa and massage establishment and a few shops away is a luxury bakery house, The Harley. Such convenient and strategic hotel!! Buffet breakfast provided is not that bad considering the amount of money you pay for the room rate. No problem searching for taxi because at least 2-3 Blue Bird taxis station themselves just beside the ATM machines at all time. I myself used the taxis a few times and every single time the taxi driver automatically set the meter on without even asking them. Thumps up!!
I stay at this hotel on 29 August 2017. When making a reservation I have requested a non smoking room. When I enter the room, the room was very smelled of cigarettes. There were ashtrays and matches on the table. When I complained, the two hotel staff insisted that my room was a non smoking room. In fact, when I asked randomly to another hotel staff, they said my room was a smoking room. Request to move to other room rejected because the hotel was full. I cannot meet the hotel manager because he/she already go home. Finally, that day I stay with a headache and nausea because the smell of cigarettes is very stinging. I am not a smoker. Very disappointing for the hotel which is included in the Aston group network. Until this review I write, my complaint via social media accounts Favehotel Wahid Hasyim and Favehotel not responded at all.
