Jacksonville Plaza Hotel & Suites

The Jacksonville Plaza Hotel was an okay budget hotel. We were only overnighting on our way to Tampa, so it was fine. While the room was clean (save for the fridge, which still had someone else's food in it), the decor / condition was quite in need of a refresh. There was no closet or bureau, nor was there a suitcase stand. The breakfast buffet was very limited in terms of choices... no eggs, no waffle or pancake maker, and the orange juice was out (is that even possible in Florida?)!

Staff was very helpful. Very little to offer. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was slim pickings.

Motel room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Nothing out of this world but want terrible either

I have stayed in a couple of hotels in the area. This one was very dated looking, but clean. The room rate was up there for an older looking hotel, but it did include a microwave and a mini fridge which is great if you want to bring your own meals and save money that way. I was surprised that there is no water fountain. There is a vending machine on two floors. While I was there a fire alarm went off, and I was told it was because someone burnt toast after I asked at the front desk. I was looked at weird for asking. The staff at the front desk wasn't friendly or attentive at all. The "continental breakfast" is just cheap muffins, bagels, toast, sugary cereals, milk, watery coffee and fruit juices. Bring your own stuff if you want any thing else. There's plenty of room in the fridge. The TV remote in my room died while I was there and they changed it right away, which was great.

The staff was nice. The location was close to the airport. The room itself was tiny. The beds were uncomfortable. The walls are thin. And I mean REALLY thin. I could hear my neighbor ummm getting it on and then snoring all night. I would NEVER stay here again.

Staff was not very friendly. Building needs to be kept up.

I'd never stay here again. The first room I tried was "non smoking" smelled so bad had to switch. Felt like my clothing smelled of mold and smoke. Second room was barely better. Small and uncomfortable pillows. Just grimy, good maybe for a night if you need a cheap place but I wouldn't stay any longer.

Clean, all you need from the perfect home away from home

The great staff in front office and the cleanisless of the hotel is great, I would really come and stay in this hotel cause of the great experience I had in checking in and out with no problem.keep up the good work!!!!!

the first problem was the smell when I walked into the lobby. It smelled like mildew. then I went to the room and I immediately had trouble breathing I had to use my rescue inhaler. After further investigation we saw mold on the garbage can. We were moved to another room we ran out to our function, which was hard to enjoy since the mold activated my asthma. When we got back to the hotel we find out that the air conditioner in our room was not working So we had to be moved again. Fortunately this room had a working air conditioner and no mold. Now we get up the next morning expecting breakfast well the breakfast was stale muffins and old bagels that fell apart when you opened the plastic.

Location is convenient to airport and a nice shopping center Free Airport shuttle serves nearby motels and establishments so its not exclusive to the hotel. You have to wait a little to be picked up while they are picking up/dropping off at other places. The staff is fine, cordial. Continental breakfast is OK. Internet worked. This is more of a motel. The rooms are listed as 'beautifully appointed rooms' and this is quite misleading. Changed rooms a couple of times because they smelled like smoke. Needs new carpeting, flimsy towels, toilet was rusting, shower head barely worked, and there is peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. It was the type of place that you didn't want to take off your shoes or touch anything. We booked to stay a couple nights but checked out after the first night. Not sure why so many reviewers are saying "fine for one night for an airport hotel". Value should not necessarily equate to old and dirty looking.

Room was clean just had a strange odor. Front desk staff was great.

The room was comfortable and the shower water was hot.

Friendly staff, small but well equipped room. The décor was a bit outdated.

Room stunk really bad. The so called free breakfast consisted of packaged muffins, toast, instant oatmeal. No eggs, bacon, or even waffles. The juice machine didn't work, and that's fine. I know things like that happen from time to time, but they didn't even seem to care to fix it or warn that it was broken. They didn't have complimentary shaving razor or toothbrush, or even sell them. They also don't have enough parking for the amount of rooms they have. We had to wait until someone left before we could park Horrible, horrible experience.

Not great but good. Air conditioner did not work correctly. Bed was to soft for my liking. Staff was friendly

I was visiting J'ville for one day.The location of the hotel being close to the airport and on the way to my meeting,it served it's purpose. The room was clean, the personnel helpful and I was able to get in and out quickly. That was all I was looking for.thank you.

It wasn't a bad trip. it was a small room and the bathroom really wasn't that nice but it was close to the highway! It did not have a pool which I was expecting due to it being in Florida. It was a close to stores and the highway.
