Check-in...had a different room than what i had reserved. when that was cleared, I got a room number and key got 2 it on the 2nd floor open the door and it was bad, it stink, old carpet. dusky nasty dark and scarey. Back 2 check-in got keys for another room and a large water bug greeted us, it was smelly and dusty, cob webs in the ceiling beds was old stained and blankets wasn't clean, bed spreads wasn't cleaned, and didn't fit the beds.1of the bed sheet had not been change, no phone book. i felt the HEBEGEBEES!!!!! THIS HOTEL REALLY NEEDS 2 B TAKEN OFF YOUR LIST IT MAKES U LOOK BAAD. I will never ever go back.

I can't speak for the bed and carpet but the tileing in the kitchen area and bathroom was sticky and dirty. My white socks were black within minutes. I saw some black specks in the bathtub that made me shower with flip flops on. Cleanliness was my only issue while the location was conveniently close to the mcat testing center I was going to. I stopped by a nearby winndixie to get frozen food for my breakfast to save me money.

I came to Jacksonville for a job fair. Originally I was assigned a room on the third floor, which for me was too much trouble because the only elevator was in the back of the building. I was checked in by the manager, who was very gracious and put me in a ground floor room. However, the room was not very clean, the trash can still had dried up liquid in the bottom (it had not been washed out). The blanket was dirty and I suspect it was not a clean set of sheets on the bed. The ceiling in the bathroom was coming off from a previous leak and there was not even a plastic cup to use in the bathroom. I was very disappointed, since for only $10. more I could have had a much nicer room somewhere esle. What is scary is when I complained to the front desk person, she said I was in one of the nicest rooms !

Very close to alot of stores and resturants

My husband and I just loved Sun Suites. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a kitchen in our room which was perfect for us during our stay. The staff was great...they helped us find directions to the Mayo Clinic. We will be back to Sun Suites on our next visit to Jacksonville later this year.

I thought the esperience was very good overall. I will use ORBITZ in the future to plan a late family vacation is possible.

The hotel was nice quiet and peaceful. It was in the heart of alot of entertainment and 4 miles from the beach. I overall enjoyed it and will refer it to all of my family and friends.

It was horrible. When I arrived the hotel said that they never received the reservation from Obritz and that the rate they had was much higher. So at 9:00 that I arrived I had to go and look for another hotel to stay at plus Orbitz had already charged my credit card to my over all experience with Orbitz was horrible.

will never go back

My family and I stayed at this hotel for a few days in April. The hotel clerks were nice to me and were very helpful when I locked myself out of the room. I did hear one clerk telling another guest on the phone that the internet did not work and they would have to call an 800 # because there was nothing they could do about it, but I don't know about this because I did not use the internet. The rooms are pretty nice for the price. I know Jacksonville pretty well and although this is not a *top notch* hotel, it is decent for the price. It does have a stove top with dishes but not cook ware. (not too sure about that) The fridge was helpful especially with a child. Basically the water was hot, the room was clean, the parking lot was fairly empty and clean and we had no problems.

Sun Suites is a renovated older hotel in a decent neighborhood. They are not suited for short term travelers since the kitchen has minimal amendities (no dish washing soap, no dish rag, no cooking utinsels, etc.)and no room service to give you clean dishes on a daily basis. We had no assurance that the dishes were clean and no ability to clean them. It appears most of the clients use this hotel as a cheap apartment and are expected to provide everything they need to set up the kitchen for their own use. When we arrived, the elevator was not working and we had to carry our luggage to the third floor. When I commented to the front desk about this, the desk clerk offered no apology but said this happens alot and that "machines break down". The bed was comfortable but the room was not real clean.

very comfortable room, a little concerned with the traffic though as when i arrived the desk clerk was no where to be found for a little while. I was traveling by myself. went to a resturant up the street to wait.

It was a pretty good place to stay. The location was close to many restaurants and Interstate 95. There was ample parking. The appliances were in good condition (fairly new) and the room was clean. There was a bit of noise on the floor above us late into the night but we ended up falling asleep ok. If you're on a budget and want a nice central location in Jacksonville, then I recommend this hotel.
