I'm an Elite member and satisfied overall with this Hotel but would not rate it at top of LaQuinta Hotels which I have found to be excellent. They are normally exceptional and accomadating. Dealt with a little Front Desk attitude at this location No big deal
We got there 15 minutes before 'check-in' and were told to wait. We made reservations online and said we had a pet with us. Finally got checked in, then the receptionist got onto us for not telling her we had a pet. Then we finally got the keys and went to the room and were surprised with someone else staying in there... We went back to the lobby, got a new room, and we were told not to let the pet on the bed.. uh what? The room was disgusting. Hair (not from someone's head) was all over the bathroom. It looked like someone left some of their number 2 on the seat. The tub was dirty. Found some other hair (from someone's head) in the bed. Absolutely disgusting.
the staff were very friendly any time we spoke with them. the hotel was quiet but that usually depends alot on the guests. the room was clean and comfortable. the breakfast was good - love the waffles.
I frequent LQ because they are dog friendly and I often travel with my little dog. I've never had a problem with this hotel. The room had such an overwhelming animal urine smell it was awful! We bought fabreeze but it didn't help much. It appeared clean but stunk to high heaven. The evening front desk lady was helpful and nice. Great customer service skills! Morning front desk- not so much. I asked for my receipt and she said I received one at check in(which I didn't) she clearly didn't want to do it or didn't know how because she printed off 25 or so pages to give the the last page for my receipt. Hot breakfast is a faaaaarr stretch. Stale bagels, muffins, sausage patties in a pan of water (????? why???) and a pan of what appeared to be gravy. Coffee is instant. Room coffee is bad so just skip the breakfast room and go across the street to McDonalds or Waffle House.
I booked this place for one night because they allowed pets and I was driving through Jackson. Mistake. First, the rooms are dated, dirty and generally gross. The carpet was stained, the bed lumpy, and the hallways smelled. The elevator, amazingly, had an expired inspection- almost a year overdue! It smelled like cheap booze, was dirty, and the walls stained with....I don't know what. Not only was the place gross, I felt like I needed to stay awake in case someone tried to break into my room. Overall- a must avoid!
Room was clean but looked as if it had water damage at one time. No good place for your dog to do his business. Now the breakfast needs help. They did not restock items. I took one bite of my eggs and that was it. Cold and you could defiantly tell they were powder. My nephew did say the waffles were good. He got a cold piece of sausage but they did not replace any after 8:00 that I witnessed.
A group of us were greeted with a nice smile even at our late check in 11:00PM. Our requests were accommodated as best they could. (We were traveling with a basketball team and wanted several rooms close together!) The rooms while could use some updating were clean and comfortable. Only reason for the missing star in the review… The overnight desk clerk (after 12AM) was very rude and disrespectful. I was very surprised since the young lady earlier in the evening had been so nice. We were in town for a basketball tournament and the breakfast was out of food even at 7AM better preparation for a sold out hotel maybe. The location was good and there were other restaurants within walking distance so it all worked out. Over all I would recommend (as long as you are in for the night before midnight)
We stayed in a La Quinta every night on this vacation in a different city. Great quality hotel! The breakfast was delicious and the staff very polite! Great location and convenient.....beds very comfy!
Ms Jamiel checked me in. When I went to my room it was missing the tv remote and ice bucket. I called the front desk and Ms Jamiel said she would try to get me one or move me. I went back downstairs and she was able to move me to another room. Granted I was in a King room to begin with and moved to a double queen. Ms Jamiel called and check to make sure everything was ok with me. She did her best to accommodate me. The room was clean and the hotel was located in good area with lots of restaurants around. The only complaint is that they accept animals but don't have anywhere to walk them.
This location was purchased from Best Western and renovated. This is not the old Briarwood location. Very nice lobby, room, and bathroom. And maybe I got lucky on this stay, but there was real eggs and bacon for breakfast! Bed, furniture, paint, and linens all looked brand new. This won't last, as most hotels do run down within 18 months. Take advantage of this location while it's still new!! Well worth the money!
